The most important live performance of her career. The cross, the statistics re HIV, the organ, the crown of thorns, not too mention her vocals. And STILL the neigh sayers come for her. This is her legacy. She is the greatest for a reason. Your response was great :)
This is one of her most brilliant performances if you ask me. She uses the attention she knows the controversy will bring to shine a light on such an important issue. She then uses religious text in the end to speak the language of the same people you’d expect to be upset by this performance to deliver her point. Almost as if she is telling them to focus their attention and outrage on what matters instead and to practice what they preach… Just pure genius! There is a reason why she’s the queen 👑 and truly incredible reaction as always
Please, please more Madonna reactions! She seems to be ignored by certain age groups, but she actually is “punk rock” within a pop structure. Her live performances are especially theatrical and absolutely iconic ✌️
One of the many reasons there will never be another Madonna, she is the ultimate artist. Other singers may sell more concert tickets or have more streams, but Madonna is the blueprint, the Queen.
No one as yet ( female) has outsold tickets compared to Madonna, though that Swift gash, likely will by the end of her tour, it won’t matter, because Madonna set the standard and she is a true and authentic artist.
Madonna started her music career as a punk/rock/ska act in the underground scene in New York. No wonder she still keeps that attitude. She is FIRE in anything she does and her works are always multilevel, they have so many layers. She is a genius.
Yes. She puts on that hard rock/punk rebellious, confrontational swagger from her pre-fame late 70s NYC era roots when she wanted to lash out at her detractors like in her-I Don’t Give A-number from her MDNA tour.
I saw this show during her stop in Amsterdam and it was amazing. I remember religious groups being aware of this segment of the show and they were protesting outside of the stadium. There was even a bomb threat that was called in on the day of the show, trying to get it cancelled. But nothing was found and the show went on. This show was in 2006, nearly 25 years into her career, and she's still pissing people off today LOL. Gotta love her! Always pushing boundaries.
Nothing's stopping them. Most of her material is right at their fingertips, which is why it's so frustrating. But even back in the day people only knew the hits and didn't realize what she was doing on her deep cuts and tours. Oh well.
Underrated?? She have so many successful ballads through her carrier....Crazy 4U, Live to tell, Oh Father, Rain, Take a Bow, You'll see, The Power of goodbye...etc etc
And now, so many years later, live to tell touched me again with an emotional performance in her Celebration tour. She is such an Icon, no one better than her.
That’s cool that you described her as punk rock , because she herself has described herself that way. It takes a lot of balls ,I am glad you enjoyed the video , thank you
You are so spot on with your analysis. Most Madonna reactions are so off the mark. Yours are always so much fun to watch because of your energy and you actually understand what she is doing. Her whole career has been people bashing her and not understanding because they are so afraid of a woman with a strong opinion. She does not shy away from topics that need attention. She is a true artist . And artists are meant to disturb the peace. When she makes people uncomfortable it really shows there issues and insecurities. And if she can get people talking and maybe even change hearts and minds then she has accomplished so much !
Madonna Candy Perfume Girl. Full on punk rock performance. First time Madonna played guitar on stage as a pop star. She got her start playing in punk bands as a drummer, guitarist then lead singer. That didnt make her any money so cue in the pop dance music.
I knew you'd love this performance. 'Gang Bang' from the MDNA Tour is one I think you'll like a lot too. Not so much religious imagery, but it's fvckin cool as hell.
Saw this live in Vegas..it was incredible. This whole show was lit. When she opened the show coming out of a disco ball, I knew I was in for a kick a$$ show.
Madonna always has the best dancers and she let's them shine. Fun fact: Early on, she sang in two punk rock bands before she became "Madonna." Perhaps I've mentioned this before. : )
to get the full effect of this segment of her show, you just MUST (mandatory 🙂) watch the performance right after this one. She followed this song with another song Forbidden Love, and making another big religiously related statement also. Absolutely timely right this minute with what's been happening in the middle east the past month or so.
What's so brilliant about this performance is that she's calling out the hypocrisy of conservative religious people. Those who claim to worship Jesus are the very same people who are homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, racist, anti-sex, etc. She's pointing out that Jesus' teachings were about loving one another. That's why she ends the performance with a very specific bible reference which remindes everyone that however you treat human beings, you treat God that way, too. Your next reaction should be Like a Virgin/Like a Prayer from Blond Ambition tour. After pleasing herself sexually she faces God for her "sins". Pure genius.
What makes Madonna so impactful is she is fiercely political in her artistry, uses her platform for her activism and advocacy for many worthy causes. She “speaks truth to power” on socio-political issues she cares about. Not many of today’s pop music artists has the guts, consistency and longevity to do this for fear of the backlash and hate that it elicits from bigots who benefit from/perpetuate the social ills/prejudices that Madonna rails against. Appreciate your insightful reaction and for covering her music and artistry.
I love your Madonna reactions. To me, she’s the greatest artist ever She’s been a constant inspiration in my life in the last four decades; that’s right, I’ve been worshipping Queen Mother since the beginning. Please react to “Like A Virgin “ and “ Like A Prayer “ from THE Blond Ambition Tour 1990. I can’t even think of any other performance that can match that.
I dont know where in North America you are but you should pony up some money and see her at the Celebration tour. You'll love the re-interpreted performance of this song. A total tear jerker
If you ever have a couple hours spare, you should watch the entire concert. It changed my life, and perspective on it. It also wildly changed my opinion of live music and what it can be. I watched it many many years ago and I have never seen anything like it - such a wonderful and magical journey.
I’m a huge Madonna fan and watch a lot of Madonna reactions and I must honestly say you have the best commentary and insight. You seem authentic AF. Subscribed.
SHE WAS SHOCKED when she realized the tragedy of orphan children in Africa because of HIV or AIDS, it was not only a performance for a show as she finally built her family from that reality. She engaged deeply with orphans maybe because she was one of them.
You should react to her Like a Virgin + Like a Prayer performances of her Blond Ambition Tour, they are iconic, very punk attitude, she was almost arrested for it
Madonna was a drummer in New York early 80's maybe late 70's. The band was called the Breakfast Club. She did get to sing a couple songs as well. The lady has talent, and punk is her roots. Really cool you can see that!!!!!
You should listen to what the words were saying early on when the dance moves were being demonstrated and you was praising the guy on. It’s not all about just the music and dance. Powerful words.
As someone who is obsessed watching reactions to Madonna tours n music, you need to watch the tours fully, it’s such an amazing experience, and lets you understand each performances better! Great reactions!
I love ur discovery of Icon who is Madonna. Please respond to the opening of confessions tour. U loved Mdna opening this is out of this world .love ur channel
She’s been humble and low key about it but her humanitarian and philanthropic activities has been consistent and huge from the beginning of the AIDS epidemic that ravaged the LGBTQ community that killed many of her artists friends in NYC, then in Africa where it originated that orphaned millions of children. She has donated, raised millions of $ for these various worthy causes that continue today. She adopted 4 AIDS orphans from Malawi and raised them lovingly as family. She has walked the talk.
Other amazing live moments: American Life live at Reinvention Tour Vogue live at MTV VMAs 1990 Like A Virgin/Love Spent live at MDNA tour Hung Up live at Sticky And Sweet tour Heartbreak City/Love Don't Live Here Anymore live at Reberl Heart tour
I think Madonna is possibly the artist of our generation, maybe aside from Bruce Springsteen or U2 when they were big, who best represents the 60s music genre of protest music. Instead of protesting the war (although she did that too with American Life) she protested the issues that were very important in the 80s… sexism, racism and homophobia, especially during the AIDS epidemic. She rose above just being a ‘pop diva’ into being a complete performance artist, combining dance, theatre, poetry, music and activism into one fierce, undeniable and unrelenting force to make the world a better place and on a more basic level, to entertain us like no one before or since.
The girls dancing in the 2nd segment, is the lead actress in rebel moon, and also did the remake of the mummy with tom cruise, she’s so beautiful and talented
The organ part you hear is actually a sample from Giorgio Moroder from the 70s. He was a very famous DJ back in the day and the entire Confessions Tour is inspired in disco music from the 70s & 80s. A reaction of the entire show would be 200% worth watching. Believe me.
I had the pleasure of watching her Confessions Tour twice in Miami. It’s still hits me with emotions when I see this performance. So insanely powerful.
The female dancer was the witch in The Mummy with Tom Fking Cruise. Btw, that pause frame lit many newspapers and magazines at that time. 😅 The best music arrangement for this song ever. Everything about this concert was perfection.
The most important live performance of her career. The cross, the statistics re HIV, the organ, the crown of thorns, not too mention her vocals. And STILL the neigh sayers come for her. This is her legacy. She is the greatest for a reason. Your response was great :)
Check out Forbidden Love from this tour. Especially poignant currently.
i am so inlove with the performance of this song FOREVER
this is imprinted in my mind FOREVER
love madonna FOREVER
This was so spot on about it being her ultimate live performance, especially of LTT well that was until The Celebration Tour 😭😭
This is one of her most brilliant performances if you ask me. She uses the attention she knows the controversy will bring to shine a light on such an important issue. Truly a living legend. There will never be another Madonna.

This is the Madonna that I wish the younger generation knew. Amazing
Nothing's stopping them. Most of her material is right at their fingertips, which is why it's so frustrating. But even back in the day people only knew the hits and didn't realize what she was doing on her deep cuts and tours. Oh well.
When this song came out, it was on repeat forever. I think her ballads are so underrated.
Love her ballads!!
Underrated?? She have so many successful ballads through her carrier....Crazy 4U, Live to tell, Oh Father, Rain, Take a Bow, You'll see, The Power of goodbye...etc etc
Love when you said "literally a fucking legend" as the cross is rising!! SHE IS!!!!! this performance is a master piece.
And now, so many years later, live to tell touched me again with an emotional performance in her Celebration tour. She is such an Icon, no one better than her.
That’s cool that you described her as punk rock , because she herself has described herself that way. It takes a lot of balls ,I am glad you enjoyed the video , thank you
She started out as a guitarist and a drummer for punk rock bands in the late 70s
Madonna live is pure magic
One of her best perfoemances from her best tour ❤️❤️
More Madonna reactions please

I was going to suggest the same thing.
Saw this live in Vegas..it was incredible. This whole show was lit. When she opened the show coming out of a disco ball, I knew I was in for a kick a$$ show.
Still one of my favorite tours I've seen of hers. I actually thought she came down with the disco ball until I saw the show again the next night, lol.
In Vegas? Hasn’t been there yet
@paulangelo8352 you're thinking of the Celebration Tour, which I will see in Dallas.

OMG Madonna ❤ please more reaccions like this (Future Lovers - O Feel Love, Sooner Or Later, Give It To Me, etc...)

Yes 💯
She’s the Queen of pop for a reason.
But she’s also the Queen of performance art.
Probably my favourite Madonna song. I love her vibrato.

it was *stunning* to watch. and it had our NYC crowd in tears by the end.

Madonna actually has a background in Punk. When she came to New York City she was a drummer in a few Punk bands before she started in dance music
Check out the” Rock” side of Madonna video” Burning” up from Rebel Heart Tour & “Hung Up” from Sticky & Sweet Tour
I appreciate that you included the interlude to this masterpiece! I fucking love Madonna. Watching this live was incredible.
You should react to her Like a Virgin + Like a Prayer performances of her Blond Ambition Tour, they are iconic, very punk attitude, she was almost arrested for it

Madonna is amazing. Watch Madonna tour performance of gangbang from mdna tour. It's more like a scene from an action movie you will like it
You must watch the video “Like a prayer”. It was the reason the Pope himself called for a boycott of her. Just that era of her career is epic.
Madonna is the Queen of Pop ❤

The female dancer was the witch in The Mummy with Tom Fking Cruise.
Btw, that pause frame lit many newspapers and magazines at that time. 😅
The best music arrangement for this song ever. Everything about this concert was perfection.
I knew you will love it 😊. I suggest you react to "I don't give a" from MSN tour 2012 where she ends with the church, a very rock performance 😊
