Shades of my childhood! Mom used to make this cake often. I don't remember it having that delicious topping, but the cake was great.

This was the only cake I can recall my momma ever making. Momma has been gone now for 31 years, but fortunately she passed the recipe down to her baby sister(my aunt) who has made it for me a few times. Thank you for sharing this recipe!! God bless you and Calvin!

I lost my father on this disease 2 years ago and i mis him every day. Half of my family have or had this disease.... Im scared.... But every day is a day and im 48, i try to live healthy and that's what i can do. A big hug from me for both from you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I made this cake at Easter this year but wasn't your recipe. I got it off the Country Cook. It is similar to yours though but she calls for self rising flour. It is a good cake.
