Rule of clapping at AGDQ:
1) If they say a trick/boss is hard and succeed, even if it's sarcasm, clap.
2) If they die 1 or more times on a trick/boss before succeeding (even if it's easy) clap.
3) If a donation is $500 or more, clap.
4) If a maneuver is difficult but the couch draws no attention to it, DO NOT clap.
5) If meme, clap.
6) If at least 1 other person claps, clap.
in the fallout 4 speedrun from sgdq 16 they have a very specific clapping rule to follow :P

I remember playing this game for the first time in 2008 and being so happy, it was really the first game I ever got into as a kid.

1:30:00 Maybe that glitch was caused by being hit as you spun to make the shell orbit you, right inside the spawn point for the Koopa. The game probably doesn't know where to put it, which would cause it to fly out to its default coordinates (the green streak on the right of the screen). However, the game may have stored the value of Luigi having a shell in his spin orbit, and so when Luigi spins again, the shell spawns right back.
Don't know how much of that is true, this is all conjecture. I'd like to see it become a consistent glitch, though. Maybe I'll test that soon
Haven't seen the scene, but as something of a game dev this sounds like a very, very plausible explanation.

It's a fun glitch, but doesn't save time on the optimal route... They call it swag.

Patric Landström While that is true. A "HD Remaster" would actually be the version it was intended to be. Since Nintendo decided not to include HDMI on the Wii, the game had to be down-scaled. Also who wouldn't want a sharper version of this wonder game?
+MichiganJack of course, it would look great. However, some Wii titles, such as Twilight Princess, looked extremely blurry, so that's a great game to remaster imho. Super Mario Galaxy didn't really have that problem. Still, I agree with your statement.
+MichiganJack I believe playing this on the Wii U's Wii software/VC release upscales it quite a bit. I can't be sure, but that seems to at least be the general Internet consensus.

I actually never knew that you could break the gates in the Megaleg fight. I did that backflip strat on my first playthrough. It never even occurred to me that that wasn't how I was supposed to do that fight
I'm kinda greedy with star bits in SMG 1 and 2, like I never waste star bits, even if I have maxed out the counters and fed all the Hungry Luma's.

imo the ghostly galaxy purple coins mission is the hardest in the game. I see why you would think daredevil bouldergeist was hard though, it's just that I personally never had any trouble on it

I'm replaying SMG series already beat two and I'm 80 stars into 1. I think it's easy if you take your time. I hated the Timed version of the SMG bosses in SMG2, because I always took my time with bouldergiest.

At 30:00, I played smg2, so I knew captain toad was in that game, but I do remember seeing captian toad's ship in smg1.

Why do the same videos keep getting re-uploaded?
+Frybynight7 All videos are uploaded at least twice. One during the event itself, and once afterwards once the fixed up versions are ready. If issues are found with the second version a third version might get uploaded if the issue is serious enough. Things that get improved can include:
1) Fixing technical issues if possible, such as the echoing audio on the uploads for several runs early in the event.
2) Uploading a higher resolution version of the video if the game feed was separately recorded. Many HD games had a higher resolution capture than what went out on the stream, so in some cases it's possible to upload a version where the game feed portion of the stream is full 1080p. Doing the overlays is very CPU intensive, so it can take a long time for these to be ready.
3) Normalizing the audio track. Most runs will end up being louder.
4) Removing the takeover ads played during setup times.
5) Adding title cards, including run, category, runners, and an approximate time when the run starts.
6) Putting interviews with the run they belong with, as sometimes there was a schedule gap (the Super Mario Kart interview was done before Diddy Kong Racing, for example).

I think the choice was made to make the player Luigi a different model than the NPC because the NPC has no animations. They probably recolored Mario's sprite, so player Luigi is shorter and has that magical brightness
