The last couple days this has become my new favorite bad movie channel. I HATED the voice at first, but then you realize that the voice is what makes it so good lol.

I was expecting the twist to be that the "priest" was actually the demon and he was tricking the group into taking him to the monastery so he could sacrifice the girl as an offering to Satan. I don't know if that would've been a better or worse ending.

This is the type of movie that if you get halfway through then you can't refund your tickets so the director just gives a big fat middle finger to those who didn't get out while they still could.

No one said a movie can't be enjoyed if it's a stupid movie, they're not mutually exclusive. I love a lot of JCVD's older movies even tho the plot probably kills some brain cells every time you watch it. They're still fun, silly 90s action movies.
And it's not that much of a stupid movie.
Many people really were diseased and looked like shit in those days, the Templars were probably cruel bastards that killed civilians, and everyone who was not a Knight like Nicholas Cage in that movie was useless because only Knights were simultaneously well educated, adept at hand to hand combat, and units of measurements like Leagues and cubits are not completely understood anyway.

I've recently discovered this channel and got obsessed with watching Steven Segal movie reviews. I watched at least 5/6 of them in a row but I think you have more in your repository! Outside of Netflix content your channel is the most entertaining thing to watch for me now.
This one particular hit home with me. I used to be a big fan of Cage movies, all the way up to this movie, which I watched in the theaters. Watching your review, I realize how bad this movie was, that I remember nothing from the movie, except the pointless journey to the monastary. This movie was the last straw for me with Cage movies. I've tried to watch some of his other movies on TV since, but apparently his movies could actually get worse and they did.
Say what you want about Cage but he never half asses his films. No matter how shitty the film is he always gives it 100% of his energy which is kinda amazing.
After the "see which one's the witch" scene, I was already convinced, I had to watch this movie. 😆😆😆

Many decades ago, long before the internet was a thing, I was watching that stupid killer bee movie with my mom and her friend's sister (they were like family) on tv one day. It was so dumb we were ragging on it constantly. One of the characters died and Debbie said "At least he doesn't have to be in this sucky movie anymore". That may seem like an overused comment now, but way back then it was the first we ever heard it and laughed about it for years. Poor Debbie had a tragic life but I will always remember her for her sick burn decades before it was taken for granted. This one's for you, Debbie.

Nicholas Cage has had the most amazing career. He's an awesome actor and I'm convinced he does ridiculous movies just for the hell of it and it works
I think thats half true, the other reason is because at the beginning of his career he spent tons of money he didn't really have and in order to pay back alot of it he just took any role offered.
Probably has 9 alimonies he's paying.
At least Nicolas Cage tries ( and usually succeeds) in giving a competent performance, as opposed to Steven Seagal who has no discernable talent and continues to make crappy "direct-to-dvd" movies.
Nic Cage got caught by the IRS for not paying taxes for almost a decade and had to pay it all back, plus interest and a hefty fine, in order to avoid jail. And you do not wanna mess with the IRS, they actually put Wesley Snipes in jail for tax evasion, after he refused to pay his owned taxes.
He was also spending money like there's no tomorrow and was almost bankrupt.
That's why he was starring in all those trash movies, in order to pay his debt.
Apparently, he's now debt free, that's why he appears again in better movies.
I really enjoyed this movie. Maybe my taste in movie sucks, but I found it entertaining and amusing 😊

That said, allow me to introduce you to the next Nic Cage movie you need to RUN, not walk to...
Fire Birds.
Nic is sent to learn the ways of the Apache... not the Native Americans, the attack helicopter, in order to take down a mercenary who has been wreaking havoc protecting drug cartels in his own chopper.
But, see (HA!) Nic has a hard time learning the mysterious ways of the Apache, as it uses a one:one eye system... one eye free, seeing thru the windscreen of the Apache in real time, the other covered and attached to a live feed camera at the nose of the Apache, aiding in weapon systems. This confuses Nic Cage initially, but this is NIC CAGE & NIC CAGE CANNOT BE STOPPED.
In what can be only described as a writing masterpiece, Nic Cage and his pals use a makeshift "camera" made of mirrors within a paper towel cardboard system shaped like a one-eyed periscope and strap it to his head, both keeping it in place and acting as a blindfold over his "dominant eye," and proceed to put him behind the wheel of a Jeep and drive at reckless speeds throughout the military base, putting everyone's life at risk.
Again, RUN, don't walk, to find Fire Birds and discover what Top Gun could have been if they had Nic Cage instead of Tom Cruise, and Apaches instead of Tomcats. And a different storyline. And all sorts of awesome driving with abandon in a Jeep throughout a military base while wearing panties and a cardboard paper towel roll strapped to his head .

I already like Nic's movies, but this channel has renewed my interest, need to watch more of them. My fav's are Wild at Heart, 8mm, Matchstick Men, Con Air, Face-Off, The Unbearable Weight of massive Talent, to name a few. I just watched Pig a few minutes ago, going to see Dream Scenario tomorrow. I know he still has a long career ahead of him, he's a fine actor and a cool guy. I think my new-years resolution might be to watch every one of his 100+ flicks in 2024.
