Jaime and Brienne’s hate to love relationship was one of the best parts of season 3. Also, I never noticed how much older and badass Jon and Robb looked together in that dream.
pretty sure they meant that Jon and Robb look older in the vision/dream than they do in that same sequence in season 1
Dave Robb older than when they were at the pilot of season 1 which most scenes like that at Winterfell were shot 2009 or 2010 which was a year before the series was finally ready to air. It’s why actors like Sophie looked so much younger in the pilot then she did the rest of the season. I’m just saying they look more mature with Jon’s beard being a bit fuller as well as Robb’s and I never noticed that before.
makes you think how cool older Robb and Jon would have been working together.
I love how alike Tyrion and Jaime are. Jaime trying to talk his way out of his captivity and tying to make himself as unbearable as possible is exactly what Tyrion would've done. They even talk similarly. You really can see where Tyrion gets his wit from.
Miles Jaime always had an underrated tongue back when they portrayed him in a villainous arrogant light he stayed verbally frying people
They both have an insane amount of charisma and wit. People think Jaime is an idiot but that's only book smarts. He has a lot of street knowledge from experience in the world.
Yes Jojen's actor is 28 now, but he was 23 when this season was aired. Probably 22 when filmed.

I think this is the episode I started liking Jamie
I liked Jaime the moment he pushed Bran out the window, but I think the ep for me where he started to become one of my faves is when he's talking to Catelyn about how bullshit hypocritical Kingsguard vowels are, like respecting your father and protecting the king and the poor (but what if your dad wants the king dead and the king hates all the poor people) or whatever he says. Such a complex character

I know this is an old comment, but I've been looking back at some of these lately (yet again). Call me crazy, but I still think there was at least some kind of chance if Jaime hadn't bothered to blurt out that one last "my father", he could've saved himself from this moment. That even Locke having his men thrust Jaime down on that rock, the train hadn't necessarily definitely left the station, that he wanted to mind fuck him. But trying to invoke daddy's saving grace yet again made up Locke's mind.
And particularly for a non-book reader, yes that was absolutely a Red Wedding moment. To tell you the truth, I think I still consider Joffrey's death more shocking than Robb's and those men. I was pretty certain Joffrey was not going to see the finale alive, but that was still WAY earlier than I expected him to be dispatched. Up until the last few seconds where you see his eyes get all fucked up, I really thought he was just faking it to try and embarrass Tyrion some more.

Why is impossible even for the smart people to see Brienne as a real woman with everything that entails including sex? Not only she was/is inlove with both Renly and Jaime but also these 2 love story are in perfect contrast: Renly is galant and respectful in her presence but mocks her behind her back, takes advantage of her feelings and is gay while Jaime taunts her cruely in her face, but respects and admires her, saves her life/honor, has a boner seeing her naked, gives her a chivalry purpose that she craves(saving Sansa), prays for her succes and also turns her on.
I agree. People seeing Brienne as some sexless warrior beast are missing a major part of her character, books and show. The girl's in love with Jaime (just ask GRRM, screenwriter of Cersei's "But you love him" accusation at the Purple Wedding) and was clearly in love with Renly. She and Jaime may have a platonic relationship now but according to the actors, directors, writers, etc. the (mutual) romantic undertones are there. It will be very interesting to see what S8 brings when they're finally back together in the same place --- but this time fighting on the same side.

The ramsay reveal in the books was pretty cool for me because I was expecting it to be just like the show but him pretending to be reek and knocking theon out at winterfell made me say oh shit out loud and giggle lmao

Seasons 3 & 4 were the best in the series imo. All seasons have been great television but 3 & 4 were on a whole new level.
By giving Catelyn that scene talking about Jon (presumably to make her a bit more sympathetic for the modern audience), they kind of created a semi-plot-hole there.
Book Ned's decision to keep Catelyn in the dark seems smart one, knowing her the way we do. There's no hint that book Catelyn ever had the slightest bit of guilt over the way she treated Jon Snow. She was a prototypical highborn Lady, who thought the way highborn Ladies thought. She really couldn't be trusted to conceal the fact that she wasn't _really_ dishonored by her husband. Not for the rest of her life, anyway. But show Catelyn... it seems more like the knowledge that it wasn't true would've been enough for her to just lighten the hell up and treat Jon like the nephew he actually was.

32:05 In the books, it's actually the Inn of the Kneeling Man (somewhere in between Inn at the Crossroads and Riverrun). It's where Brienne, Jamie and Cleos get some horses and some info. It's also the inn where Hotpie stays to make bread.
In the show, it seems like they have just the Crossroads Inn.

I think the conversation with Mance was foreshadowing Jon uniting all these different people such as Wildlings and Nights Watch/Targaryen's, Starks and Lanisters.

Reeks PoV chapter where you realize what happened and who you are actually following? The show completemy excised one of the best twists and ruins what happened to Theon by showing you it happening. One of the stupidest changes from the book.

Jaqen H'gar is the best fighter in all of Game of Thrones... He's like the Grand Master of the Jedi Temple... He'd slay Jamie at even his peak fighting performance, while taking the mountain right after... A MAN KNOWS.... ;)
I love Jaime in this episode he went from a cocky douche to an amazing lovable character, it's amazing how they can turn all that around and make him my favorite character
I don't know maybe the Hound could beat Jamie when he was more healthy, the Hound is a much more dirty fighter and wears armor that covers much more of his body than that of Jamie's Kings Guard armor. Also the hound does carry a two handed great sword as well as a long sword in season one, great swords actually being primary weapons of people who did fight in medieval times and having much more reach and power behind the strikes especially with a giant like the Hound welding them. Would be a fun fight to see but oh well

Mance is awesome in the books, and solid in the show, but they took out so much of his plot. Him as Abel and his spearwives help accelerate Theon's transition back from Reek and him whooping ass in the Lord of Bones' bones for example. Read ADWD

I never read the books 😞 but through the spoilers ( that I love) I'd like to think that they keep showing Sansa with this lemon cake thing is to hint at us that Dany did not see a lemon tree or was not where she thought she was
I find it interesting that a lot of the game of thrones storyline starts with Ned Stark. His decapitation sets off an entire war, and he's remembered fondly through the series through his children.
But also the fact that Ned did not trust Catlyn with the identity of Jon. If he had told her, "Yeah, this is my sister's son with a Targaryen, she made me promise to watch over him, and he's the last thing I have of her. I'm going to pretend that he's my bastard, so I'm sorry that this lie will shame you and shame us. Please help me protect him and keep this secret." Then Catlyn would probably agree, then agree to adopt him and raise him like her own.
Also, Rob was also a newborn at the time. You could just lie back then and say that these two babies are twins, and no one other than the maesters and some of the staff would know.
And if they had done that, then Jon Snow would not have been raised a bastard, and it would have set off a completely different story.
So, Ned Stark really is the start of GoT.

I love the CAT scene, when shes talking about Jon Snow. Because you can feel her regret and her new awareness that Jon IS A STARK and how much regret she has. And CAT should blame herself. Her selfish rage started the war. And Jamie makes the comparison between Cat and Cersei. Because they are so alike. But Cat is beloved and Cersei is a mean slut. So no one sees them as being alike.
