Find it a little annoying that this video comes out and the product isn’t even in stock. Just like the email blast last week for the Hannah checkers but I can’t even get the nitrate reagent that I need for them.

It is an efficient model, however it's quite flimsy when compared to other brands. I had to replace mine since the intake arrived cracked. The replacement was fine. Octopus is built like a tank.
Same here. You can see it spitting out microbubbles in the video as well. It looks like the bubbles leak over from the main skimmer body into the outlet chamber.😢
Also if anyone knows my tank is an AIO custom rimmed tank , i am looking for a HOB protein skimmer than can fit , my rim+glass thickness is 4cm ( 3cm rim + 1cm glass ) , havent found anything that can work
I am confused by this spotlight, I love BRS but the majority of aquamaxx items (including this skimmer) have been out of stock since last year, so much so I thought with the purchase of MD you cancelled the aquamaxx line. Sorry for the small rant, not trying to be negative but doing a spotlight on a product you havent had in a couple months seems odd (unless the shipment is coming this week).
Most HOB power filters are going to rely on mechanical filtration and are also a good place for media like carbon. While a skimmer won't do exactly the same job as a HOB power filter, your system could benefit from running just one HOB and then the HOB skimmer as well. Between the two filtration methods, you'll have a really solid plan in place!
I installed mine last night it has pulled so much nasty stuff in just 24hrs the best tool i have ever bought

Got 1 two months ago and its been working great.
I have it on my sr 60 tank just amazing working with high performance im able to keep sps corals easily!

I've had one for 1.5 years. Fairly legit, except for the internal divider which is difficult to stay in place. Works great otherwise.

My biggest issue with it is that it doesn't have an air valve for the air intake. It's a pain during break-in or when I have to use chemi-clean.
Super simple to add on, and only a few bucks if you need one!
