hahaha chill dude it happens to everyone, it was a little wierd that you guys left it in the final recording and didnt make it an outtake at the end or something, but i kinda like it. It makes you guys seem a little more human lol
Right!?!?! Watchmojo isn't even fucking trying anymore, lol. Because they have to crank out a new top 10 list every fucking day, some of the lists they choose are just retarded imo. With tats it may be awhile between lists, but you can be sure that when their lists do come out they are going to be really high quality. Channels like watchmojo crank out top 10 lists day after day, every single day, so it's impossible for every one of their lists to be high quality, but tats spends time making sure that their lists are on point and everything is researched and the narration is high quality, plus my favorite part of tats video's is how they don't do top 10 lists. Top 10 and top 15 lists are a dime a dozen nowadays on TH-cam, so seeing tats do top 80, or top 50, or even top 22 lists is unique and almost all of their lists are awesome high quality content. I used to watch watchmojo's lists everyday as soon as they came out, but I slowly started to notice inaccuracies in their "facts" and that they were putting video's out so quickly that they were skipping over fact checking and quality control just to get the video's out everyday. I also cannot fucking stand how at the very beginning of every watchmojo list, before it even started, the narrator would always say, "make sure to subscribe to watchmojo for more great content everyday." There was just something about the arrogance of telling viewers that they produce "great" content everyday when half of their lists have inaccuracies and ridiculous concepts that got under my skin. Anyways TatsTopVideos is one of the more under rated channels on TH-cam that deserves a lot more attention and subscribers, especially when compared to a "huge" channel like watchmojo.
i like Tats Top videos because you guys put good effort into your videos, not like trend channels that shit out videos everyday like Watchmojo. This and Lemmino are my favorite channels that do top videos.
While the actual list is pretty good with nice choices, I honestly feel the writing is a bit weak. I would have preferred if you focused more on describing what makes these bosses disturbing, rather than just describing the boss battle.
Was about to type just that. What's the point in telling viewers how to beat them, we ain't looking for a guide. They lacked meaningful ideas I take it.
Everytime I come back to your channel, I'm just in awe at how much content you all can compile and edit into one video and still have the nice 3D intros. I enjoyed watching this while working on projects and now I'll catch up on the videos I've missed out on. Wonderful job everyone who voiced and wrote these.
I love these massively long lists- and compilation-videos with horror to inspire me for my writing. I am wanting to write some horror, so it's massively useful. It must have taken you all a lot of time and effort to put this together, even if I personally didn't find every single one to be "unsettling" so much as shoulder-shrug weird. I appreciate the use of different narrators! Keeps it from becoming accidentally monotone.
I also found the Singing Drill from Skylanders: Giants to be unintentionally creepy. He’s supposed to be funny, I think, but the way his voice echoes mixed with the tune of his song always gave me chills. I would also include the Song of Dragons from Endless Ocean two, even if it isn’t a final boss. You could pair it with the Okeanos Guardian(which is technically a boss fight) to make it legit. Just look up the sound bite of the song of dragons. It gives me chills to this day.
What about Dark Gaia, it's appearance may not be too scary at first, it's mid-fight transformation into Perfect Dark Gaia complete with green oozing blood makes it disturbing enough, but it's context adds a lot more to how disturbing it is, and it can never truly die, you defeat it, but it just gets sealed away inside the planet, it will always return no matter what. (I just wanted to mention a creepy boss from my childhood that wasn't mentioned here, sorry if it's a little bit cheesy.)
Or even what about Alf Layla Wa Layla from “Sonic and The Secret Rings.” He is the final boss, and his appearance disturb me as a kid, and his voice is scary too, but really topped it all off was the infamous transformation which was pretty graphic (though not as graphic as the perfect Dark Gaia transformation), especially with Erazor Djhin’s blood-curdling scream.

I was surprised to see that the final boss from Ecco the Dolphin wasn't in this list. Its not the scariest in its own right, but the fact that it pops out of a very kid friendly game is jarring and adds to the horror of its presentation. Hope it pops up in the next list! (P.S. The Patriarch from KF2 does still have his glasses on, they are just tiny and hard to see. He's still the same dork as he was from the first game ^_^)

It's been years since TTV announced it here, so much time has passed that the people who were interested in making it might have stopped making content for the channel at this point. Still, at least this video is a classic.
True, but Itoi had still developed an entire backstory for Giegue/Giygas in MOTHER/Earthbound Beginnings before he created MOTHER 2/Earthbound, where Giygas was shown as an Eldritch Abomination.
Nice (and very long) list, as usually! I have to admit, sometimes the dark, low voices and sort of edgy script-writing can come off as a bit pretentious, but I do think it is a bit charming in it's own way. I've also come to appreciate your videos, because you have a tendency of creating cool, serious atmospheres and your sound levels are always extremely comfortable (they stay the same, and there are no sudden jumpscares for comedic effect and/or other things). It's kind of cozy, in a weird, morbid way.
I remember getting Star Fox 64 as a kid and I always felt uneasy fighting the final boss. The robot double you fight on the blue path is frightening enough but if you have the balls to go through Venom on the red path you get this disturbing thing. It's like Andross sacrificed any trace of humanity (apemanity) he had drastically altering his appearance. At first it appears that he is a head with mechanical hands but once you destroy the head you realize that it too is a construct and Andross in truth is a brain. His brain and his eyes are the only organic components left of the once great scientist his entire body destroyed due to his own twisted experiments. Yep he truly was that crazy. Probably even psychotic. In Star Fox Adventures when he returns in his second clone body (the first clone body was from a comic) he appears to have a god complex claiming himself god of the Krazoa and wanting to bring his judgement to Lylat System by destroying it outright. Andross and Ridley so far are the only main antagonists of their respective Nintendo franchises to be labeled as absolutely evil and immoral monstrosities.

I love little moments like that where someone acknowledges their fuck-ups and decides to just leave it in. Would've been even better if they added text directly referring to each outtake ("Whoops!" "One more time." "There! Nailed it!")
This 2016 video shows some obvious age, yet it's still better than most 2020 vids. I've never seen the whole video, but I've watched 20-30 min clips several times. It would be awesome to see an update.
I think they put him on here because of his entrance where he eats a helpless critter. And his general over-the-top attitude is laughable to an adult mind, but might look intimidating and weird to a child.
Especially that guy trying to do the pseudo cringy movie trailer voice have to skip past all his bits. Also the one guy who says X-scape instead of escape
Pretty good video, but I think your writing lacks a bit of focus. You have a tendency of simply describing the boss' tactics and how to defeat it, which, for the most part, is irrelevant to the subject of the video. You should be focusing on explaining what makes each of the bosses disturbing. Describing appearances is also a bit pointless since that's what the visual footage is for. Don't get me wrong though, I admire the work you all put into these videos and just how much material you come up with for them.
Well I thank you for the kind comment and feedback. ^w^ You need to remember sometimes things are not obviously visible unless its otherwise stated. Say for instance not many would be able to pinpoint that the tongue of the Female Tripod had a baby attached to it. Some may not understand what is actually happening in a boss fight. And also sometimes what the boss actually does to the player sounds more appealing than a lot of other Countdown Artists who usually only talk about its appearance and how difficult they are, without actually showing the final outcome of what happens.
Thank you for the response! I didn't mean to imply that appearances shouldn't be described at all, (though I guess I kinda did imply that.) I just thought you described appearances a bit more than necessary sometimes. I don't mind describing the behavior and appearance of the bosses as long as it's relevant to the topic of the video. The Female Tripod's tongue having a baby attached to it was was a good example of why the boss was disturbing. The fact that the doctor outfit's bonuses are useful in the Giant Nazi Zombi Fetus fight and the fact that Slappy is easier to take down with melee weapons, not so much (although that last one CAN be relevant if you explain WHY it's relevant). But looking back, there weren't quite as many pointless observations as I initially thought, thought there were some that I thought went needlessly far into detail. This was an interesting video, and I really enjoyed you bringing back to life one of the first concepts to get me into countdowns. In fact, your channel was one of the first countdown-related channels I watched, and I'm happy your still producing content.
Also, if you're including fanmade games in this, then you should definitely look up Super Cyborg. It's a Contra-clone filled with some really, really grotesque mechanical-organic hybrids.

I may have committed that so called sin before, but think about it. With Silent Hill you expect things like that, in Kirby, at least back then, not many were expecting something like that to appear.
With 02, back then its aimed towards kids. So its quite a shock for them to encounter some sort of boss like that. Where as bosses from Silent Hill was aimed towards the more mature audiences.
I get where you're coming from, but I was expecting a list more...objective like. I get it that it scares kids, but are you really going to tell me, that the white thing is less disturbing than, say, God from SH3?
The entire video I was wondering where Bloodborne was. "The One Reborn is perfect for a list like this!" Great job putting it on number one, that really surprised me. Personally I would go with Blood-starved Beast. That thing looks horrifying! And the lore behind it makes it even more creepy.

Glad to see the Broodmother on here but wish to make a slight correction: Broodmother is actually a dwarf-turned darkspawn not Elven. Blanca's House was captured in the Deep Roads(Location of the Broodmother)and either was eaten or turned. Blanca is a dwarf, so her house members are as well.

I think you could fill half the list with boss designs from Bloodborne. One of them is a skeletally thin monstrosity that, when you first look at it, appears to have dysfunctional wings... until you look closer and see that it's the creatures flayed skin off its back.

I think the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door could've made the list. She's just as creepy as Super Dimentio, She used Peach's body as a vessel, murdered millions of people, killed anyone that refuses to serve her and even ruled the world at one point. SHe even has thousands of dead koopas in her palace.
I'm surprised The Boogeyman from Silent Hill Homecoming didn't make it. Then again, I guess he was more unnerving than disturbing, but they way he slowly walks to you as he carries a sledgehammer and absorbs your bullets like a sponge... it's just... whoa...

Some of the narrators for this sound like they just wrote a run-of-the-mill creepypasta and are trying to impress their 10-year-old friends. They're horror games: YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRY THAT HARD TO SOUND "SPOOKY."
Pyfer voice is a hell of amazing. Never heard a deep voice like that before. Honestly I think his voice can be what lights to of shit creepypasta's that creepsmcpasta and Mr creepypasta read. Not to say there bad I watch there content all the time. I'm just saying Pyfer can put them out of work with that voice. Keep it up.

Fun list! I'd like to offer some suggestions for review of future videos (if you've already done one of these in a video, then I am sorry, it is hard to remember all you've covered over the years). These are just ideas that you might find compelling, I realize you probably have a list already: Alexia from Code Veronica - Incest with her brother, and sick infatuation with insects. Zork Nemesis Alchemists - just, the sick things they did to create the girl and then make her fall in love before sacrificing her for their own immortality... ok yeah, they weren't visibly disturbing, but what they did to get her to that point was just plain sick. The Spider Witch from Ghostbusters 2009 - murders men, kills them to take their souls, becomes a demon class entity, 'nough said. Any of the Alone in the Dark original games. They had some cool creep factor to their "bosses". I still have a special place in my heart for enemies from the videogame Blood, but my favorite is probably the "White Werewolf" in the special stage "Monolith Studios". No way to beat him legitimately, no way to escape the studio level (not that I've found). It's basically there for people to use a cheat code and enter. I swear, I've searched that level over and over and cannot find an exit. I may be wrong, though. The White Chamber - You, the player. I don't want to say anything else to spoil it. Sam and Max - ok, this is a comedy series, but, some of the guys they went after were just sick puppies. Mecha-Hitler from Wolfenstein 3D - dude, this is just disturbing. Those weird mutated zombie things from Blood 2 - ok, that may cover quite a few of the enemies, but I mean the floating ones who throw spinning orbs at you. Just sick. Planescape Torment has some REALLY cool and disturbing imagery in it. Rise of the Triad - remake or original, lots of sick stuff. Earthworm Jim - I think you actually mentioned one of the Bosses from EWJ in a previous video, but man, this series was just disturbing all around. Then there are some obvious games, like System Shock 2, the AD&D First Person Games (like Menzoberranzan, Ravenloft Strahd's Possession and Mummy's Curse), Chronicles of Riddick, Might and Magic, Shadow Warrior, all of which had some awesome disturbing enemies Anyway, love the videos, hope you keep it up :D
This has to be the best disturbing bosses list. I enjoyed the changing narrators and unique choices. The odd placements (Like #23 above #28 or #7 above #19) somehow made it even more enjoyable

Mikel Apuada as a girl i was born intersex. meaning i have female and male hormones and gentalia. So as a female i have a somewhat male voice, and i hate it. I don't like my voice at all, and plan to get it changed in the future, along with my body through surgery. Though I lack the funds for that at the moment. Its not a big issue but its something i'm looking into later into life.
I'm sorry but I must disagree about Sepulcher from SH: Homecoming. I believe that Scarlet with her porcelain doll-meets-spider appearance, and Asphyxia, representing strangulation/suffocation, to be more disturbing than Sepulcher.

Right!?!?! Watchmojo isn't even fucking trying anymore, lol. Because they have to crank out a new top 10 list every fucking day, some of the lists they choose are just retarded imo. With tats it may be awhile between lists, but you can be sure that when their lists do come out they are going to be really high quality. Channels like watchmojo crank out top 10 lists day after day, every single day, so it's impossible for every one of their lists to be high quality, but tats spends time making sure that their lists are on point and everything is researched and the narration is high quality, plus my favorite part of tats video's is how they don't do top 10 lists. Top 10 and top 15 lists are a dime a dozen nowadays on TH-cam, so seeing tats do top 80, or top 50, or even top 22 lists is unique and almost all of their lists are awesome high quality content. I used to watch watchmojo's lists everyday as soon as they came out, but I slowly started to notice inaccuracies in their "facts" and that they were putting video's out so quickly that they were skipping over fact checking and quality control just to get the video's out everyday. I also cannot fucking stand how at the very beginning of every watchmojo list, before it even started, the narrator would always say, "make sure to subscribe to watchmojo for more great content everyday." There was just something about the arrogance of telling viewers that they produce "great" content everyday when half of their lists have inaccuracies and ridiculous concepts that got under my skin. Anyways TatsTopVideos is one of the more under rated channels on TH-cam that deserves a lot more attention and subscribers, especially when compared to a "huge" channel like watchmojo.
This channel is what watch mojo will never be or could hope to achieve.

I also found the Singing Drill from Skylanders: Giants to be unintentionally creepy. He’s supposed to be funny, I think, but the way his voice echoes mixed with the tune of his song always gave me chills.
I would also include the Song of Dragons from Endless Ocean two, even if it isn’t a final boss. You could pair it with the Okeanos Guardian(which is technically a boss fight) to make it legit. Just look up the sound bite of the song of dragons. It gives me chills to this day.

What about Dark Gaia, it's appearance may not be too scary at first, it's mid-fight transformation into Perfect Dark Gaia complete with green oozing blood makes it disturbing enough, but it's context adds a lot more to how disturbing it is, and it can never truly die, you defeat it, but it just gets sealed away inside the planet, it will always return no matter what. (I just wanted to mention a creepy boss from my childhood that wasn't mentioned here, sorry if it's a little bit cheesy.)
Or even what about Alf Layla Wa Layla from “Sonic and The Secret Rings.” He is the final boss, and his appearance disturb me as a kid, and his voice is scary too, but really topped it all off was the infamous transformation which was pretty graphic (though not as graphic as the perfect Dark Gaia transformation), especially with Erazor Djhin’s blood-curdling scream.

I was surprised to see that the final boss from Ecco the Dolphin wasn't in this list. Its not the scariest in its own right, but the fact that it pops out of a very kid friendly game is jarring and adds to the horror of its presentation. Hope it pops up in the next list! (P.S. The Patriarch from KF2 does still have his glasses on, they are just tiny and hard to see. He's still the same dork as he was from the first game ^_^)

Nice (and very long) list, as usually! I have to admit, sometimes the dark, low voices and sort of edgy script-writing can come off as a bit pretentious, but I do think it is a bit charming in it's own way. I've also come to appreciate your videos, because you have a tendency of creating cool, serious atmospheres and your sound levels are always extremely comfortable (they stay the same, and there are no sudden jumpscares for comedic effect and/or other things). It's kind of cozy, in a weird, morbid way.
I remember getting Star Fox 64 as a kid and I always felt uneasy fighting the final boss. The robot double you fight on the blue path is frightening enough but if you have the balls to go through Venom on the red path you get this disturbing thing. It's like Andross sacrificed any trace of humanity (apemanity) he had drastically altering his appearance. At first it appears that he is a head with mechanical hands but once you destroy the head you realize that it too is a construct and Andross in truth is a brain. His brain and his eyes are the only organic components left of the once great scientist his entire body destroyed due to his own twisted experiments. Yep he truly was that crazy. Probably even psychotic. In Star Fox Adventures when he returns in his second clone body (the first clone body was from a comic) he appears to have a god complex claiming himself god of the Krazoa and wanting to bring his judgement to Lylat System by destroying it outright. Andross and Ridley so far are the only main antagonists of their respective Nintendo franchises to be labeled as absolutely evil and immoral monstrosities.
Though Gurdys pretty creepy, I found the Bloat to be worse. He's not only annoying, but he shoots blood lasers from his eyes!
There is a whole subreddit for Bloat hatred. That boss has ruin many run.

Pretty good video, but I think your writing lacks a bit of focus. You have a tendency of simply describing the boss' tactics and how to defeat it, which, for the most part, is irrelevant to the subject of the video. You should be focusing on explaining what makes each of the bosses disturbing. Describing appearances is also a bit pointless since that's what the visual footage is for.
Don't get me wrong though, I admire the work you all put into these videos and just how much material you come up with for them.

You need to remember sometimes things are not obviously visible unless its otherwise stated. Say for instance not many would be able to pinpoint that the tongue of the Female Tripod had a baby attached to it. Some may not understand what is actually happening in a boss fight. And also sometimes what the boss actually does to the player sounds more appealing than a lot of other Countdown Artists who usually only talk about its appearance and how difficult they are, without actually showing the final outcome of what happens.
Thank you for the response! I didn't mean to imply that appearances shouldn't be described at all, (though I guess I kinda did imply that.) I just thought you described appearances a bit more than necessary sometimes.
I don't mind describing the behavior and appearance of the bosses as long as it's relevant to the topic of the video. The Female Tripod's tongue having a baby attached to it was was a good example of why the boss was disturbing. The fact that the doctor outfit's bonuses are useful in the Giant Nazi Zombi Fetus fight and the fact that Slappy is easier to take down with melee weapons, not so much (although that last one CAN be relevant if you explain WHY it's relevant). But looking back, there weren't quite as many pointless observations as I initially thought, thought there were some that I thought went needlessly far into detail.
This was an interesting video, and I really enjoyed you bringing back to life one of the first concepts to get me into countdowns. In fact, your channel was one of the first countdown-related channels I watched, and I'm happy your still producing content.

I may have committed that so called sin before, but think about it. With Silent Hill you expect things like that, in Kirby, at least back then, not many were expecting something like that to appear.
That boss is not a big deal any way. I think the way Kirby swallows everything is much creepier.
With 02, back then its aimed towards kids. So its quite a shock for them to encounter some sort of boss like that. Where as bosses from Silent Hill was aimed towards the more mature audiences.

I think you could fill half the list with boss designs from Bloodborne. One of them is a skeletally thin monstrosity that, when you first look at it, appears to have dysfunctional wings... until you look closer and see that it's the creatures flayed skin off its back.

I think the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door could've made the list. She's just as creepy as Super Dimentio, She used Peach's body as a vessel, murdered millions of people, killed anyone that refuses to serve her and even ruled the world at one point. SHe even has thousands of dead koopas in her palace.

Pyfer voice is a hell of amazing. Never heard a deep voice like that before. Honestly I think his voice can be what lights to of shit creepypasta's that creepsmcpasta and Mr creepypasta read. Not to say there bad I watch there content all the time. I'm just saying Pyfer can put them out of work with that voice. Keep it up.

Fun list! I'd like to offer some suggestions for review of future videos (if you've already done one of these in a video, then I am sorry, it is hard to remember all you've covered over the years). These are just ideas that you might find compelling, I realize you probably have a list already:
Alexia from Code Veronica - Incest with her brother, and sick infatuation with insects.
Zork Nemesis Alchemists - just, the sick things they did to create the girl and then make her fall in love before sacrificing her for their own immortality... ok yeah, they weren't visibly disturbing, but what they did to get her to that point was just plain sick.
The Spider Witch from Ghostbusters 2009 - murders men, kills them to take their souls, becomes a demon class entity, 'nough said.
Any of the Alone in the Dark original games. They had some cool creep factor to their "bosses".
I still have a special place in my heart for enemies from the videogame Blood, but my favorite is probably the "White Werewolf" in the special stage "Monolith Studios". No way to beat him legitimately, no way to escape the studio level (not that I've found). It's basically there for people to use a cheat code and enter. I swear, I've searched that level over and over and cannot find an exit. I may be wrong, though.
The White Chamber - You, the player. I don't want to say anything else to spoil it.
Sam and Max - ok, this is a comedy series, but, some of the guys they went after were just sick puppies.
Mecha-Hitler from Wolfenstein 3D - dude, this is just disturbing.
Those weird mutated zombie things from Blood 2 - ok, that may cover quite a few of the enemies, but I mean the floating ones who throw spinning orbs at you. Just sick.
Planescape Torment has some REALLY cool and disturbing imagery in it.
Rise of the Triad - remake or original, lots of sick stuff.
Earthworm Jim - I think you actually mentioned one of the Bosses from EWJ in a previous video, but man, this series was just disturbing all around.
Then there are some obvious games, like System Shock 2, the AD&D First Person Games (like Menzoberranzan, Ravenloft Strahd's Possession and Mummy's Curse), Chronicles of Riddick, Might and Magic, Shadow Warrior, all of which had some awesome disturbing enemies
Anyway, love the videos, hope you keep it up :D
This has to be the best disturbing bosses list. I enjoyed the changing narrators and unique choices. The odd placements (Like #23 above #28 or #7 above #19) somehow made it even more enjoyable

as a girl i was born intersex. meaning i have female and male hormones and gentalia. So as a female i have a somewhat male voice, and i hate it. I don't like my voice at all, and plan to get it changed in the future, along with my body through surgery. Though I lack the funds for that at the moment. Its not a big issue but its something i'm looking into later into life.
I'm sorry but I must disagree about Sepulcher from SH: Homecoming. I believe that Scarlet with her porcelain doll-meets-spider appearance, and Asphyxia, representing strangulation/suffocation, to be more disturbing than Sepulcher.
