- Act-Age. Yes, you should read it.
Every once in awhile I'll stumble upon a manga that'll keep me up at night, reading chapter after chapter even though my back hurt from this shi**y chair that I have. Anyway, Act Age, potentially the new big title of Shonen Jump in 2020, is certainly a special treat that bursts with emotion. No one reads descriptions anymore, but here's everything I love about it so far.

This part should be ignored for your own safety.
Act Age is about Kei Yonagi getting into the acting industry. Great manga, one of Weekly Shonen Jump's best, in 2020 of course, that'll probably get an anime adaptation (nevermind, the manga might actually get cancelled, what the f-). But you should still read it, you don't want to miss this. The art alone is worth the read. Made by Shiro Usazaki, a great artist, support her. Tatsuya Matsuki's writing is very good but he's not a very good person. So, yeah, here's my review, you can also call it analysis, hello and bye.
Man this video is not aged well at all, which makes my heart broken
I feel you. The video was made before and scheduled. I thought that with the, almost confirmed anime adaptation, the manga will get more attention and people will get into it. But, well...now it's just awkward.
I'm so glad I never read this series up until now.
1. I wouldn't be as heartbroken as all the other fans who have been reading it for a while
2. I don't have to wait for so many chapters.
but now I'm sad asf. I hate that I loved this series. I just wish the author never did that.. just why! It was so good. And the art.. oh my god it's amazing.
this whole series was amazing and I feel bad for every single person who was a big fan of this series.
The Night of the Galactic Railroad is my favorite arc, Usazaki absolutely killed the panels there, and she's only TWENTY-TWO YEARS OLD, unreal. Act-Age's (Act-a-due) story is so grounded to real life but also feels like a roller coaster from the stars above.
Bad timing or good timing idk
Not the best timing :) or not the timing I wanted. The video was uploaded a few days ago and scheduled for today. I heard the news this morning, and it really sucks. I was looking forward to an anime adaptation, but it seems like the manga is, more or less, cancelled.
@@SylvanesW Well, still better than publishing this video a day before the... event. :P
@@SylvanesW it's kinda an ironic video title too.
The manga it's really great! It quickly became a favourite of mine. I really really hope they don't give up on Act Age...
It's really a shame because it was indeed a great manga, but I don't think Shonen Jump will allow its serialization anymore.
Best case scenario, the manga goes on hiatus. Maybe it'll come back a couple of years later with a different artist and in a different magazine.
it's over man 122-123 will be the last chapter
@@TheMaicena i think viz wont release ch 123 since the countdown timer is gone ):
Im not excusing what the author did, but is cancelling the series and almost wiping this series from living memory really proportionate? Such wasted potential :(
Man I felt so many emotions when I saw the last image in the chapter. I just feel so hurt right now man
Hey,. I've been following your channel ever since the quintuplets review, and ur reviews are awesome and well made , have u considered doing for example rent a girlfriend or any romance type manga? Think it would be good having in mind ur analysis are so well done
Hey, thank you :) I really appreciate your support. I have been reading quite a lot of manga recently, mainly for an upcoming video but also searching for a series to pick up. I would like to try to review a manga weekly.
I am actually reading Rent-A-Girlfriend, 60 chapters in, and I was really looking forward to making a video on it at the beginning, but the more I read the more I feel like I'm not digging it anymore. It frustrates me that when everything moves one step forward it almost immediately goes two steps backwards. So, I'm in doubts about Rent-A-Girlfriend at the moment. I'll keep reading though :))
@@SylvanesW ye I feel like the manga has a lot of back and fourths and the choices by the characters aren't the best, we see some improvement from the MC and that's about it , I've read it all and I'm up to date , there is some good story development along the manga so it's always worth to read, anyways I'll be paying attention to the channel, nevertheless have fun reading it :)
My favorite manga forever...
I read it more than 10times, but it's still fun..
I cant wait to see usazaki shiro's next manga in Jump. Good luck to her.
Yo, just found your channel, seems pretty cool, keep up the great work but one thing, I went to your twitter and didnt see your pinky... that was obviously not the biggest disappointment for me as I finished reading the quintuplets a day ago :(
Welcome to the massive series that will never be finished.
Oof I feel terrible just imagining you hearing the news when you have the video all done and uploaded already
Oh... I'm so sad! So sad!
What will I do with this sadness??
Even if they could continue the series without the writer (which I don't think they can, he co-owns the IP), it wouldn't be the same without him.
A similar situation happened with the Asterix comics. The writer passed away and the artist tried to continue his legacy but most fans would agree his solo Asterix volumes were nowhere near as good. And breaks between volumes became longer and longer. At one point fans had to wait 5 years for a new volume. TWICE. IN A ROW. Yeah, only two new comics over the course of a decade.
Yup, I agree. I'm not even sure if the illustrator would want to continue if she had the chance, considering the situation.
It is canceled
I started reading the manga, and wow I was surprised it was being cancelled. Like wtf Tatsuya
Recommending it now? It just got cancelled hard. The story will never conclude. I wouldn't recommend a manga that never finds its conclusion.
This video was made before it got canceled
@@electricion712 I guess. It was uploaded in the midst of the drama though. Possibly made beforehand though.
it's disappointing to think he would do that please if it's true mann i don't think i can read the manga the same anymore D:
Great vid keep it up.
Thanks :)
I personally couldn't invest time into a story that's now cancelled.
I’m gonna miss it :(
Really sucks that the author is allegedly doing this acts. Hope that it's just allegedly but if it is true i'm disappointed. :(
I think it's yet to be officially confirmed. Knowing a bit of the Japanese law, most of the times, they will arrest anyone until proven innocent. But from what I've read, it seems like the author admitted it. So...there's that :(
@@SylvanesW the Japanese have a 99% conviction rate because they only go after the ones they are sure they can convict, so the fact that that they arrested the author should be worrying, because that means that it's likely a guaranteed conviction with undeniable evidence
@@MABfan11 its not just ones they’re sure they can convict but they avoid those they know they can’t convict, like for example if they think they can pressure someone into confessing with the brutal system they use of holding people for possibly months along with whatever the interrogators deem fit to not admit to doing/gets ignored or if they think someone did something and don’t care whether they actually did it or not like people that have been imprisoned for 30+ years for murders they didn’t commit. *by the way im not saying he didn’t do it just correcting your comment*
bring the animeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! ill be waiting
i feel very conflicted when i find a piece of media that i enjoy but then i find out that the author is a piece of shit human being, u feel me? idk if i should admire the art for what it is, or see the artist behind the art.
Why feel conflicted? Do you feel bad about the food you eat or the electricity you use?
@@popo237 its different tho, when im apreciating art, be that music or a drawing or a story in this case, by accepting that you like it your somewhat agreeing on some level with the message and the personality behind them, for exmp, if a painter made the most beutiful, photorealistic painting in the world, but the painting was about a kid getting raped and he condons that, then i dont like that painting, i would admit is well done, there is no point in denying that, but i dont like it.
Damn this is sad :(
Jesus Christ almighty loves you!
