The disappointment I felt as someone who was a big fan of the series was massive. I just hope people don’t attack the other people who worked on the series
It really was disappointing, I was enjoying the series a lot :/ I was definitely afraid people might attack others that’s why I made sure to include mentioning the artist is not the one involved. I would hate for them to receive any backlash
I was absolutely devastated and very disappointed, this manga has a lot of good things coming its way: there was going to be a stage play adapted from the manga, an anime adaptation was on the horizon and I was looking forward for the 11 and 12 volume to come out, then this appended. I appreciate that you didn't bring up the details of the crime because no one needs to be reminded about that. I'm still looking forward to the artist's next work cause their art is absolutely gorgeous hope they get another big break soon.
I was talking to a friend and their sister came into the convo, she mentioned this, and now this video pops up. Man, Its too late, im already owned by google.
Hi, so I was wondering what is your take on the rurouni kenshin controversy? Everyone seems fine with the new reboot coming and I feel I can’t support it.
Hello, I think that similarly to this one the author is a terrible person and him making popular manga should not excuse his actions. I’m disappointed that there’s going to be a reboot since I feel like it undermines the authors actions by allowing his work to get a remake. I will admit though I never read or watching Ruroni Kenshin so this is from the perspective of someone who was never a fan of the series. I can imagine it must be a lot more complicated on whether to watch it for people who used to be fans of the series. This controversy is honestly a pretty good idea for a video, so thank you for the idea!
@@theaverageotaku I heard from someone who lives in Japan that people were just trying to ignore that a******* to not give him any attention in the hopes that he'll just fade away. They didn't want to spark up controversy that would bring him back into relevance so that nobody would bother with him. Unfortunately, it just didn't work. As a former fan of the series, I bought the manga then the next day saw the scandal hit the news. I still enjoy the series somewhat, but it's very much soured the series. I won't buy anything. Don't give him any money.
@@GrimXHunting Hey just wanted to let you know that I ended up publishing a Rurouni Kenshin controversy video! Thanks for the idea for the video and I made sure to give you credit at the end for the idea!
I personally don't think it's justified for the publishers to completely remove the ability for people to buy the manga. The author himself did something horrible, no one's disputing that, but he wasn't the only person involved in making the series. Getting arrested and staying in a cell for a good while is something he deserves, but what does that have to do with the work he's already created? I think people have every right to choose not to buy the work based on the crimes of the author, but that's just the thing. It should be a choice. I really hate cancel culture. Not because I disagree with the moral principals specifically, but because it almost always ends up hurting the people and things adjacent to their target even if they're innocent. It's an emotional response, not a logical act of justice.
i 100% agree with you they should've published all the volumes that were in Japan in English which was i think 12 volumes? but make all the proceeds go to the artist and not the scummy author. I really love the manga and I'm able to separate the work from the creator so I would've bought every volume. I'm in the process of learning Japanese rn for a trip I'm planning, and one-way I'm learning is through reading the Japanese copies of this series physically.

I hope so too I love their art! It was bound to get an anime adaptation if the author didn’t do what he did :/
it's been 2 years and im still waiting for someone to get usazaki for a series...
Same, I have no idea why it’s taking so long they’re so talented :/

Dam thats crazy, I had no idea about this.
Fr, the more you know!
If this shameful act by the author didnt happened
We would have got 2 quality idol industry related anime oshi no ko
And act age:(
With the right studio it would’ve been a hit :/

That’s definitely a fair take! I somewhat agree with that, I don’t get why it was removed completely from platforms.

You can read it if you go deep enough into the internet.
I’m not surprised, the main site I used to read it in the past removed it :/
...dude looks like Yami....
I can see it lol
