When picking a GPU you’ll likely start by determining your performance needs and price range - and then you’ll want to take a look at whether NVIDIA or AMD has the bettering products to fit your needs. Once you’ve narrowed down your choice, you should start to consider the different options offered by companies like ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte in order to get the exact features you want at the right price for you.

Honestly if you have the money A rx580/1660 super (I use the 580) ryzen 5 2600 build with 16gb of decent ddr4 ram has done pretty well for me

@@christianboyd2124 some optimisation needs to be done on MSFS side, but the game is extremely GPU heavy and even a 2080ti struggles to get 30-40fps on high settings. The 3080 hopefully may provide some relieve, especially for those who want to use VR.

In short, how to choose the GPU that's best for you:
1.) be rich.
2.) have money.
3.) combine 2 and 3.
4.) combine 3 and 1.
5.)
i would say watch out for the 2080 ti. mine broke within a year, with no hope for a refund. its really janky on the newest windows as well
Answer: Wait till the end of 2020 for both Nvidia and AMD to do their refresh.
EDIT: Just read the 3000 series comes out Sept 17th.

I want to eventually get a 20 or 30 series GPU but for my first gaming PC that I built, I went with a GTX 1080 Ti. And I went with an Intel CPU. i7-9700K. I was considering going with an i9-9900K but 9700 is what I hear a lot of gaming PCs use
I didn't realize there was ANY debate on how necessary ray tracing was to advancing game visuals xD It just looks SO GOOD!

I’m surprised you call the 2060 the budget option and not the 1660 or something in that series. Could just be me but I view all the rtx cards as very premium
I completely agree. Building my first PC by the end of the year and if prices stay the same, the 1660S is my go to card for price-performance. Maybe prices are better in the US but a 2060 is $450 for me
I looked it up and the 2060 is only like $300 on Amazon in the US. For a gaming build thats a very good price my $1300 build uses a $500 and I didn’t cheap out on anything.

I live in Mexico and there is no way we can consider a 2060 entry level. Prices are always higher here and making a rough conversion a 2060 is ~500 dollars for us

The 2060 Super is more of a mid range card. The 1650 Super is entry level. The 2070 Super is sort of a half way point between mid range and high end. I agree with the 2080 Super/Ti being high end.

My AMD RX 5700 XT lasted 20 months. Never over clocked it or ran it through the ringer. Don't play hardware intensive titles. Not sure if I was just unlucky. Definitely disappointed.

@@moea8818 Going good so far but I had to change up from uw to a 27 inch fhd Viewsonic XG2705 gaming monitor. But that's ok every other monitor was out of stock. ;( Monitor's is quickly becoming like the gpus right now. ;( Plus I have been playing Cyberpunk like crazy lately so 1080p is where its at for my 1060 6gb. And decided to wait till Spring/Summer for a new build with the 30 series at least system builders has no issues trying to get a gpu for the builds. :)

Hi I'm new to pc gaming and I could use some advice about upgrading. My specs are intel core i7-9700k @ 3.60GHz, 16GB ram, nvidia geforce rtx 2060 super and a 1080p 144hz monitor. I just purchased a new 75 inch 4k 120hz TV for use with ps5 but I'm thinking of upgrading my pc instead of buying console. I would love to hook the pc up to the new TV. My question is if I get the rtx 3080 would my pc be able to push 4k to my TV at 120fps or do I need to upgrade cpu and ram too? Or should I just go with my original ps5 plan and stick with my 1080p monitor for my pc games? Any help will be greatly appreciated

While you go into details for new and less technical users I cannot recommend they watch this. It isn't Verge PC Build Guide bad... but it needs allot of work and some MASSIVE re-evaluations on what that kind of a user's budget is likely to be.

@@Hotchillizs So I got myself a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB GAMING OC Video Card. It was available for a decent price and it works great! When I do my XIV benchmark, I get the second highest rating.

I buyed a 1080 ti in 2017, but i will never again buy expensive pc hardware for 2 reaseons.
R1) For example when you buy an 800$ GPU after 3 years you lose 400$. When you buy an 400$ gpu after 3 years you lose 200$.
R2) Flagship GPUs n CPUs are big n heavy. I never want again an heavy and big pc where you need a crane (2 peoples) to lift or deplace it...

@@anprettycoolguy 9 out of 10 people I know have had bad experiences with XFX. From doa, cooling issues, fan failures, bad solder, to unstable clocks out of the box, etc. Just ridiculous when a decent card is $350.

The video is mostly based on the future of games, RTX 2060 will become the minimum to run newer games the 1660Super would be considered to barely run new games. Waiting on the RTX 3060 to come out so I can build my PC.
