I can confirm is an awesome lens. As a landscaper for me is the best.

Having a smaller aperture so it's a lighter, smaller lens is great. But I think you really need an f/4 version as well. Kinda like how 70-200 zooms on 35mm formats have f/2.8 and f/4 versions. Or maybe at least a 170-200mm f/4 prime to complement the 250mm. Something that's still reasonably fast aperture wise but can be smaller and lighter than the 250mm version.

Enjoyed your video Of all of the reviews that I have watch and listen to ,you are the first photographer that I heard refer to the GFX or it’s lens as being fast anything. I think a big part of theirs problem is maybe they have never shot medium format and the GFX50S&R is about the same size as a DSLR.

The question here is why Fujifilm made it F5.6? This lens would be far better if it had F4 in my opinion.

5.6 is perfect. Small enough to travel with and handhold and fast enough. F4 would have made it heavier and larger. After a 7 week trip thru Michigan and Colorado I will attest to the amazing OIS

Ridiculous miss by Fuji not to include an Acra style foot/mount requiring either swapping out the entire collar or using an Acra plate on top of the foot which will often shift!

Also much slower than most 70-200s... And IOS is not going to stop any subject moving.... It makes absolutely no sense to compare it to a full frame 70-200 f2.8 that is way more versatile... A GX 100-200 f2.8 would be much more usable for many photographers that shoots subjects that actually move...

@They Caged Non because the photographer promoting the lens drew at least 3 comparisons with his 70-200 that’s why! Did you even watch the video?😜

@They Caged Non I thought optical performance also took into account the minimum aperture that enables lower light shooting and better isolation. f 2.8 will kill 5.6 anyday so this lens is really just a Fuji fan boys wet dream. And I own Fuji's as well as Canons and Olympus cameras. Just sayin!

Considering pairing this lens with gfx100s, ninja v, prores raw, it is a powerful cinema setup even pro level cinema cinema can’t compete, I don’t think the traditional cinema setup would come on top besides dedicated cinema control utility. The time has finally come that compact system is outperforming film grade cinema gear. Fuji is always a beast corporation, really good.
