Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well and allows you to buy fewer, better things.

You guys make me smile. I just turned 70, and strongly because of you, Carl, I ordered a pair of Nick's boots (made to order Overlanders, should get them anytime now). I hope I live long enough to break them in...LOL. BTW, many cowboy boots have had double pull on loops for many decades, but not hidden inside of course.

My wardrobe is worth more than my car. Makes sense to me.

Very interesting convo....You are so right Albert, when you mentioned the difference between receiving a freebie from somewhere/someone versus laying down your own hard earned cash...I reckon your level of appreciation for an article is far greater, not to mention how powerful it is to make an expensive considered purchase for yourself as opposed to being given it. Carl also does a brilliant job as host by allowing his guests to talk, only interjecting where it adds to the convo or sharing his own experiences with a certain item.

Two points stuck with me: better is the sweet spot and if you don't wear something enough you don't get to enjoy it and it doesn't become "yours."

Great video, guys. Your banter is very enjoyable. I gotta say, getting into higher end clothing has been an exercise in frustration for me. I have spent a lot of money on boots I don’t like, I have bought a number of leather jackets and vests that don’t really work for me, and the prospect of spending a few hundred per piece for more stuff I won’t wear has burned me out to a large degree.

Love this podcast Carl! Being a beginner in this space it's great learning from the both of you and hearing your thoughts. I'm actually heading to Japan later this year and plan on purchasing a couple items while there. This video was very helpful, but I definitely have more research to do! Thanks again, keep it up 👍

Luckily I'm glad I'm a very minimalistic person who buys quality I have one pair of Nick's one pair of good jeans basically one of everything I need so that I don't get too much clutter and replace as they wear out

Love what you guys talked about at the end most of all. I had that problem of seeing new things and having to buy them. Very recently I am trying to give it a day, week, or month then realizing I didn’t need it and I have more money 😂 great video Carl!!!

I listened to the podcast a while back and I’m glad I got to watch this video for more of the visual stuff, like for the clinch boots and the McCoys jacket :)

My mother told me when I was a kid "Blue and green should never be seen unless there's something inbetween." but I think that applies to bright primary colors. Olive and navy is okay.

As long as you’re buying something in a classic style that won’t go out of fashion and will last a long time, buying quality is probably worth it- if you wear it enough and have already set aside money for your old age, your kids, a house, etc. If I’m only going to use a tool a few times, I’ll get the Home Depot or Harbor Freight brand, not Dewalt.

Hey Carl! I've been looking for some great hats for different seasons. I love your styling and I think a great video would be your best picks for your wardrobe! Love the content and will continue binging your videos.

I love this dude and I love getting to see people who have made enough money to afford this kind of clothing. I would love for you two to go to these shops you keep mentioning and let us experience the shops and the people that run them.
