Jake convinced me to go with Sugar Cane 1947s for my first pair of straight fit MIJ jeans. I've recently indulged in a pair of Ooe Yofukens that are more than 2x the price. Are they 2x the quality? Absolutely not. The fit is a little more dialed for me, the denim has a nice rough texture, but other than that, pretty indistinguishable. Sugar Canes are a great value for vintage fitting jeans. And definitely take advantage of a weak valued Yen and order from Japan (if you're in the US)!
Thanks for this video! You mentioned buying and selling jackets over time. I've also lost a lot of weight recently, and have some nice jackets that no longer fit. Sounds like eBay and Grailed are the best places to sell? Any other ideas?

Quick note on LL Bean being boxy. Many of their shirts are now available in Slightly fitted and slim fit, as well as, the original regular fit.
