IRIS i loved this, tysm for making vids like this, i wish i'd had creators like you when i was younger! i'm really new to minimizing my chest but have had big boobs since i started developing lol (i'm a 36F), so i've learned a lot. lots of advice below (sorry for the essay!)
first, for people with larger band and cup sizes, it's really helped to be realistic. there's no possible way i can minimize the chest the same way others can (which i think can apply to everyone - our bodies are all different). you're always going to be able to see my boobs at this size (perhaps they could be minimized more with a binder, i haven't tried one!), so i try not to get too upset about flattening 100% and find other ways to feel gender euphoria.
something not mentioned in the regular bras section are minimizer bras. these have been around foreverrrr and are really popular with larger chested cis women, and tbh they've changed my life. i wear one from vanity fair, but it reduces my side profiles a ton (by about 1-2 cup sizes, enough for me who's been used to having large boobs to go omg) because it compresses while also separating boobs out to the side (rather than pushed up as seen with other wired bras).
for larger-chested people (at least in my experience), bralettes (or bras that don't have underwire that AREN'T compression bras like sports bras) tend to make the chest look larger. this is because larger boobs weigh more and therefore sag more (and create more of that weight at the bottom that iris mentioned). i own shapermint bralettes which i love because they're so comfy, but after the first or second wear, their initial compression stretches out and the natural shape of boobs sort of takes over lol. the minimizer bra is surprisingly more comfy because it provides critical support (with the very thin, flexible underwire) but also keeps the boobs more "up" in a good way (sort of what Iris was saying when adjusting the shoulder straps).
i also minimize with clothing, though oversized clothing alone won't hide my size of chest. surprisingly, sometimes it feels more minimizing to wear a tighter tank-top with a baggy button-up or jacket. hugely recommend high-neck, broader sleeved tank-tops. from the side you'll still see boobs! but the combo of tight and loose helps feel more masculine to me while retaining some of my other shape. big jackets/things that emphasize shoulders can reduce the impact of the chest too. structured clothing items as iris said are my go-to.
not chest-related clothing, but emphasizing the lower half of your silhouette can help. baggy pants and larger shoes can de-emphasize the chest. adding lines to the lower half of the body (with a pants chain for example, or if your pants have funky seams/pockets/zippers) can also help.
posture is kind of a problem with big boobs because i already have chronic back issues and larger chested people can be predisposed to these so as a person with chronic pain plssss be careful slouching. for me i'd rather my chest be more visible than cause chronic issues in the future. so instead of thinking about slouching i think about how i carry myself. how i stand/how i distribute my weight, how i walk etc matters more for me.
finally i also like to accessorize/think about gender euphoria outside of my chest. rings and dark nail polish make me feel amazing. my haircut also makes 99% of the difference (kind of like a longer version of iris' hair hahaha, also idk why but darker hair feels nice for me). even shopping in the men's section helps, even if the men's clothing still shows my chest.
hope that helps the larger-chested folks!

one thing that i've done to hide my boobas is get a very stretchy and slightly thick child sized tank top. i stretched the arms of it to make sure it wouldn't hurt my arm pits, and i wouldn've done it to the bottom of it and the neck aswell if they weren't already big enough to fit me. if you have a smaller chest, as in ribbcage size not booba size, it works super well! my boobas are medium size right now and it still works super well! doesn't compress as much as an actual binder, but works better then sports bras. it's affordable, since it's children's clothing you can get some very unique designs and colors(i have a purple one and a green one😁), and i've done exercise in them and it didn't bother me at all! you just have to make sure the fabric is stretchy enough tho, i've tried wearing one that wasn't as stretchy and it gave me friction burns because of how tight it was...so if you wanna try this, test it out, put it on before buying it. also, i believe it'd be a bit hard to put on for most people, i don't struggle with it because my shoulders are hypermoble, but someone who doesn't have that mobility would probably struggle a lot... not much different from the struggle of putting on a common binder tho😂

I don't know if I just washed it wrong or what happened but I went back to the binder I had before because (even thought it also doesn't bind as well as it used to) it does it's job better than the wanababi one now which is kinda sad because I really liked it

Additionally, as someone with a larger chest, it's not very effective at flattening, but you can work out in it, and wear it for long periods of time, which is a huge plus for me. Hope this helps!

As a person who has put trans tape on, DON'T fucking put tattoo wrap under ttape. Just don't. No. Trans tape is made to stick to skin, and it's not the tape's fault if you rip it the fuck off and you get blisters and literally rip your skin off. Use olive oil, use soap, use whatever, and most importantly, wear it for a long time (like a week or so) because that's when it'll start peeling off your body on it's own.
TRANS TAPE IS MEANT AS A LONG TERM WEARING/BINDING SOLUTION, and that means that it's specifically designed to stay for a long time (again, around a week or so), and that means that the adhesive will weaken with time, making lotions, soaps and oils more effective on it.
I'm sorry for this rant, but I see so many binding misconceptions every day, and have seen so many since the moment I started living as my true self that I get annoyed.
Also the "general regulations for binding (with a binder)" are INCREDIBLY generalistic. So generalistic that they might as well be considered wrong.
    Just so you know:
    1) start binding for only a couple hours a day, maybe even less if you're not used to tight-fitting clothes.
    - if you feel any pain or deep uncomfortable feeling, then take it off and I advice finding a new owner for the binder.
    2) Find the time where you start being uncomfortable, that's when you'll take your chillaxing, juicy, binding rest.
    3) Start extending your binding time if you feel that you want to or need to.
    4) Profit.
Also, if you wear for more than 4 hours, take breaks every hour or so anyways. Your body gets used to the binding sensation and it will be more difficult finding and feeling uncomfortable sensations in your body.
Also also, you CAN work out in binders IF YOU KNOW YOUR BINDER WELL, just take more frequent brakes, listen to your body and test your body limits, but not too hard that you end up hurting yourself.

Hi, I have a question. "if you wear for more than 4 hours, take breaks every hour or so anyways." did it mean doing a break every hour after you begin to bind if you're planning on doing it for a longer period of time than 4 hours, or is it not necessary to take breaks before the start of ur 5th hour in a binder? Sorry if the phraising's bad my english is at A2 level :')

Also by any means do you know similar rules for bralettes with tight straps (if I called that right) and sports bras? Will I be safe if I use that instead of a binder and apply the same rules as the ones that you recommend for an actual binder? If you can't help with any info here that's fine obviously I just really want to know what is safe

I just want to say that I worked really hard on this video and I really hope that it lives up to your expectations and is helpful at least in SOME way, but if it isn’t I’m sorry I couldn’t share what you need.
In my experience, my chest always looks flatter on camera than in person, so please keep this in mind when you watch other creators as well. I know we play the comparison game a lot especially with gender but I want y’all to be kind to yourselves about your bodies and what they are and aren’t like.
Looking a specific way can be extremely gender affirming, but it’s not the only way that you can affirm your innermost self. Be the person that can take care of the child you once were. Find ways to be there for them.

I love the video, it's very helpful! I like how comprehensive it was, you didn't just do things like "wear baggy shirts" and roll credits lol. I really appreciated all of the nuanced points you brought up, and I will def be considering them in the future (tho I am a trans man so I'm binding almost daily, but the other tips are very helpful for when my 8 hours are up!).
On the chest thing tho, I always feel like we notice our OWN chests much more than other people do, which is why so many people comment about others' "flat" chests (even if they're not particularly flat). I've definitely had days where I'm not binding but I come out of the bathroom and my husband goes "wow you're so flat!" (his go to compliment on my appearance now cuz it makes me very euphoric lol). So even tho I definitely noticed that I wasn't binding, even someone who sees me daily cant always tell. I feel like it's a good reminder, as we often fall into the fallacy of "these people are seeing me so they MUST be noticing what I do about myself", when that's often not the case

  • @ArynChris
    @ArynChris 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +321

I don't have the largest chest, but it's a bit larger. Things I've learned:
    1. Maximize the cleavage to minimize the cleavage. If you have a garment that pushes them closer together-- even a smexy party shirt that you own for whatever reason-- put it on and then layer normal clothes on top of it. Tada! A monoboob is easier to disguise, plus now you have more room for your arms to move.
    2. If you have a strong ratio between chest and waist, or waist and hip, lightweight open jackets (such as the classic plaid button-up shirt) are a good way to disguise that curve. They hang pretty much the same on all bodies, so people don't see what the sides of your torso are doing. Also good for obscuring arm size, shoulder size and shape, and in some cases chest curvature. Just make sure you're wearing one that's too thick to be clingy, but too lightweight to look like you're a kid in your dad's clothes.
    3. Speaking of plaid! Complex visual patterns, ESPECIALLY that mix bright, dark, and medium colors, distract the human eye and obscure the shapes underneath. You'll notice a lot of complex floral patterns in plus-sized women's clothing, and a lot of complex plaids and detailed graphic designs in plus-sized men's, for this reason. Regardless of what you want to distract from, dark (especially black) clothing with a big multi-colored Thing To Look At does great. Plus, if you're still exploring your sense of identity and self-expression, having simple "base" clothing and experimenting with the distractions you wear on top can be very satisfying.

another thing i've heard a lot of ppl talk about (although haven't personally tried yet) is layering sports bras for more compression!! of course listen to your body, if it feels tight and uncomfortable don't force yourself to do it but it could be a nice alternative if you can't get a binder

I'm not super experienced in increasing chest profile, but i would say a padded bralette or sports bra is probably a good bet. IME, the most important part of chest minimizing is shaping what you have to look more masculine/neutral, and I think the opposite should also be true. While I would usually bind/minimize with my chest pushed slightly outwards and upwards to give the appearance of pecs, you could do inwards using a bralette to give it a more "feminine" shape. You could also use a push up bra in a small cup size, where the bra would be doing the shaping for you. Hope this helps

    1) I put bandages over my chest (on top of a sports bra) and tape it in place
    2) I wear a lot of layers. I can wear a long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, and tank top all at once
    3) I slouch a lot

Gonna share a tip I personally use, as a midsize nonbinary person.
Something I really like for my chest is thick tank tops as an under layer. I deal with a lot of chest pain which leaves bras and sports bras(other than when I work out), a huge no-no for my own safety and comfort. So, I started going braless using thick tank tops instead!
I find myself way less dysphoric due to the fact it isn’t a bra, something about the fact I’m wearing one at all caused me more dysphoria than I knew! Yes I still see my chest, but knowing I’m not wearing a bra, I’m not on pain, helps a good deal.
I also find that sometimes they can help make a boxier shape, or other times help the chest and torso “blend” together more in a way, giving a smoother shape from the front. If I’m really dysphoric I’ll usually add a sports bra underneath it, and the thick fabric with typically hide the lines of the bra.
Like said this isn’t a great fix but it’s one I use and feel quite happy with! I didn’t want to parrot what’s already said in the video or comments, but there’s lots of other great tips that might work better for you!

friendly reminder/tip: posture too can work better than binding, and also some ppl will have fully different expectations on how gender expression relates to gender - for example, i got misgendered whilst binding many times, but also got ppl calling me by he/him (right ones for me) even without binders, or even layers! just a thin, loose tank top, which has pretty wide “holes” (forgot the proper term 😭 sorry 😅😂), and also with a quite “droopy” fabric!
and another example is that many cis people get misgendered as well, even ones who arent necessarily “gender non-conforming”
also, a lot of it is tied to bs eurocentric ideals of how people “”should”” look like, which doesnt do anyone any good
obviously, all here for dressing however makes us feel better! just always good to keep these in mind, rly helps me find the line between gender euphoria and dysphoria from the type of dysphoria that’s only related to colonialist expectations - i personally used to dress and act mostly according to those, but now after top surgery and a few years on T, i’m finally feeling at home in my own body enough to let myself explore things that go against those colonial ideals of “masculinity”, like “feminine” aesthetics, acting “camp”, etc 🥰

After 2021, GC2B's quality has taken a nosedive and hasn't been considered safe for binding anymore because of it.
My pre-2021 binders from GC2B are wonderful, and i got my last one (i only have 2) very close to when they were notably worse, and the difference in quality from my 2017 number is immense. You aren't imagining the drop in quality, GC2B is just like that now.

I’m transmasc genderfluid and I’m a 38F (kill me), so for me binding isn’t really an easy option, but on days I’m particularly masc, funnily, just presenting myself in a more masculine way helps. My school also has a uniform though so it’s harder for clothing expression, but just wearing a turtleneck under my uniform helps. I have my sleeves rolled up a bit, shirt tucked into my pants, and black hi-top shoes. It’s hard to explain how or why, but on these days, people seem to process “he” a lot more naturally even if they usually default to “they”.
It doesn’t seem like a lot, but sometimes just the little things make people’s brains tick over to “he”

I've become the master of layering on my quest to be flat. (Roll up your sleeves (same as the tucking shirt in pants reason), JACKETS AND FLANNELS!!!!!!, big busy graphics, thicc fabric, shirts under t shirt, hoodies WITH ZIPPERS AT THE FRONT!!! ESP A BIT LOOSE ONES!!! (makes your chest look like its from the hoodie if you find the right one). Also if you have a sports top that has a lot of extra at the bottom you can flip that over your chest to bind more. Dark colours leave no shadows to make chest more obvious like for example white.

to personally share my experience with these options I have tried both trans tape and compression tops as they seem the most practial for me. whie binders can be really compressive and you can feel alot more pressure, the compression tops I have (they're also the adjustable strap ones) in size small definitely help reduce the shape of my chest at the sides and makes me feel secured, they have a pretty seamless and nice fit. trans tape is suuuper helpful for people that wear clothing of differnt cuts/materials as its the most practical (I can wear shirts that have a longer v-neck, off the shoulder tops, and generally other clothes w kinks in them). yes, definitely round those corners when cutting the tape and I suggest when buying make sure the tape is thick (large 5"), makes it for easier application and more coverage. to remove, its easiest after a warm shower and to make sure its been after a while of wearing. ik transtape also has oil for removal but after I ran out of that I used a massage oil but I've heard baby oil works great too. again thank you for this! there were so many options in here and I loved watching it. your videos when coming to gender expression through clothing is always a lifesaver

The way binders are (supposed) to work is by pulling up and away, and this result can be achieved on how you put it on.
If you want to have a slightly more flattened chest, flip your binder inside out and step into it. When you put it on, it'll pull it up and away, which, in my experience, gets better results.
If you don't have a binder, a bralette (as seen) or slightly tight sports bra can get similar results in the same manner!
Not only does what you wear help, but how you wear it! And carrying yourself differently can do wonders, too!
    Happy binding!

For me the way that I improve my gender euphoria is by wearing masculine clothing. I wear men’s work shirts that are button up and specifically have them intentionally kind of too big for me. I also wear men’s slacks. (I do need to retailer my slacks though so that they actually stay on my waist without a belt and have a more flattering shape. Personally one of those non-binary people who wants to be be more masculine and style and chest shape, but I’m perfectly fine with my hips and my butt)

Drawing attention to other places around is another thing maybe. Doesn't really hide size/shape when you intentionally look at the chest, but if you just glance in the mirror you're less likely to focus there int he first place. Stuff like a shirt with a standing collar/buttons, interesting sleeves or hairstyle, a belt buckle, patterned/colour trousers etc.

PSA for anyone considering trans tape: please be very, very careful.
Tbf i only tried it a few times, so my technique for applying it was by no means perfect. But i generally followed the tutorials and did what they said, and when i went to remove it i soaked it in the oil and did it very slowly. It still ended up tearing off a small strip of skin, which took about a week to heal, as well as leaving blisters. I also found that it felt very tight, itchy and uncomfortable while wearing it and didn't make me very flat.
Ofc this is just my personal experience and i know trans tape works great for a lot of people, but please be careful.
    Bind safe everyone! 💛

The Line with the "i like my boobs the way they are, but I also hate them sometimes" is to relatable to me. As a 27 year old female I feel this SO damn much! I don't mind them, but sometimes I really wish they would be simply "out of the way" or not so noticable. And then there are some days (okay, most of the time) where I just don't feel "female" and like to hide behind big shirts and hoodies. I simply don't like to dress as feminine as some people would want me to and I actually don't care about "showing what I've got". Actually was called a male twice. Even got my boyfriend confused when he first saw me. I should be mad about this, but it's quite the opposite and I always have to laugh about it. I kinda like the fact that I can pull off the style if I want to by simply wearing something oversized and having the hood cover my hair. Don't know if this is normal or weird but most of the time I also don't care too much about it.
Missed the point of the video completely and got carried away once again. Whoops 😅 Posting this anyway because I need to learn to not let the feeling of "awkward anxiety" win and delete anything I wrote 🙈

Hey just wanted to share some tips I have to pass and feel more like a cis boy, the best type of shirt for me when it comes to wanting to look more flat is wearing slightly oversized 100% or close to 100% cotton with big prints on the front. I’m a metal head so I usually wear band tees anyway and it fits my style really good! One brand I have on many of my shirts is gildan heavy cotton (they also have tear away tags so they are really good if you have sensory issues). I’m 14 so I’m still not big enough to fit into adult men’s shirts so I buy from the unisex and youth sections! That was pretty much it but remember if you are a trans man and your chest isn’t completely flat that’s okay and it does not make you any lass of a man. Hope this helped 🤘

This is a well timed video for me! I've wanted to bind more often, but lately I've been getting rib pain, which I know is a signal I need to slow down and take it easy. I think I need to invest in some compression sports bras and compression tops. I think my tissue is too firm for taping unfortunately, but being able to minimize my chest some is better than not at all. It's hard out here as a person with a small rib cage and big gongalozongas ! But I'm trying!

From person who uses(d) trans tape /kt tape. I’ve used it around a dozen times now and I’m shit at it. It is very possible to not get blisters and I have done so. But more often than not I stretch the tape or tissue wrong and I get blisters. So now I only do tape if it’s for a special occasion or outfit. Def go with actual trans tape. Aside from supporting trans and queer business it’s just built for your chest where kt tape is not.
Removal tip: SLOW. With water and soap/something else to break down the binding. I have never used any oil (like coconut) to remove it but that’s bc I never got around to buying it. Without oil it will hurt but going slow and rubbing in warm soapy water will help ~significantly~. Be kind to your skin. This is not a rip the bandage off situation. This is a very sensitive chunk of skin and you will regret it if you rip it.
On usage: Be safe and trust your body. Don’t fall into the trap of it hurting a bit is normal or it’s all worth it. Everytime I’ve used tape successfully it doesn’t pull in my skin.
If you do get a blister treat it like a normal injury. You may remove the tape and it won’t have popped but often it will have bc it’s attracted to the adhesive. Clean it. Cover it. Don’t futz with it. Don’t wear tape again until it’s fully healed.
Hope this helps anyone who is looking

ok ima throw my 2 cents in here.
so, for reference and comparing, im 5'8 220Ibs and a 40DD ok. and i've tried binders, bras and trans tape. and i can get a more masc-ish chest but it's never flat cause i got those tiggobittys
so i've tried different brands of binders, and then better one i've found for me is spectrum binders, they flatten the side bottom curve nicely. but also i can't bind for more then 6-7 hrs with out my back hurting so i don't wear it often.
what i wear most the time is just a good sports bra and a graphic tshirt. a more square or bigger print tends to make the shirt hang more square. and a jacket or flannel can do wonders. a good flannel works better then a hoodie for me.
my advice for is look for tips and video from people with a similar body type as you, cause what works for a smaller chest won't work for a big chest ect.
    anyway, good video, good advice!
