Cant believe there are other Goodnight fans. I never heard of him being from Cleveland, until I moved to Pueblo and then watched Lonesome Dove. So glad he and Molly save the buffalo. I love their majestic beauty. Thanks for video.

I'm directly related to him. It's nice to see others who still know who he was. When people hear my last name they either make the same dumb joke or ask if I'm related to Charles.

We have a barn of Charlie's here in Pueblo. I always noticed the barn, but didn't know anything about Charlie, so I didn't know it's significance. But then I wondered why we have a road named Goodnight, then I put it all together. Can't wait to see his place in TX. and especially the upstairs outdoor sleeping porch

My Grandfather Jay Sanders worked for Charles Goodnight and the JA he showed and bred Hereford Cattle The Anxiety blood line for the Ranch I was so lucky to have spent many summers and some winters there at the ranches and be able to actually work cattle and learn to ride rope brand and very hard work a hard living it was for my Grandparents, I still have horses and I would live right in a lil town by Goodnight named Claude Tx. if I were able. I always thought I would, I do visit and relive it all in my mind, I still have the leadgers of the breeding programs and due dates of cattle and show records, feed, tobacco, drink, chew ect.. oh room and board. It is very interesting. My grandfather also rode a horse named Travler which became one of the great foundation horses, especially in texas. His other horse Snip who I rode from the tiny age of 2 1/2 was sold and shipped to Washington, why I don't know but I suspect he was a Stud horse and I think was sold for breeding and I know it was alot of money, My father was a pilot with Braniff and he could get airline passes, my grandfather was so crazy to see his horse and couldnt drive that far so he flew on a pass every chance he got to go see Snip! When "Snip was around 27 he was ill my grandfather flew up and was with him when he passed. One of the saddest things I had ever seen was my grandfather, a rough tough Cowboy cry, ache from his heart though his bones. "he would later tell me, "Cowboys don't ever have many friends because your always moving, "Snip" was my best friend, maybe my only friend. Maybe the saddest thing I had ever heard. I still have pictures of them togather and pics of myself and "Snip and Travler" boy was that the best time of my life and looking back I learned so much about real life, I use it everday, I also roam and wander can''t stop the want to wonder, I am a VIP (Volunteer) in National Parks, currently at LBJ National Historical Park which by the way still has Hereford Cattle and a breeding program and the best thing, these cattle are same bloodlines as some on the JA and The Goodnight Ranches so I get to see past and future, I feel so lucky thank you Granddaddy and thank you Charles Goodnight and Family for helping preserve History, Texas Rich History, Paige Stone-Griffin

Sorry to say this, but why is this shouting to me as Red dead redemption 2? From the house in the prairie to vast palo duro canyon, it's giving me vibes and chills, I love it and ain't even Texan let alone American, But! God Bless the Lone Star Texas, the United States of America and the old American Culture!!!

Do you have any information on the men that worked for Charles Goodnight? My grandfather was born in 1889 and graduated 1911 from Texas A&M. When to work for Charles Goodnight between 1911 and 1918 but joined the Army to serve in France in 1918. My understanding from family was that he stayed friends with Charles Goodnight until his death in 1929. After World War 1 he was hired by Motley County Judge Glenn to run the new AAA in Motley County. Judge Glenn actually hired him so he would marry one of his daughters. My grandmother was Carolyn Glenn or Callie was her nick name that she hated. Would love to know if you have any info?
