I piped up after I heard that beginning of the bebop section. I know it by heart because it's the only part I got down (I never tried to learn it hence why I only mastered the first part, that was a while back, + I'm still trying to learn parkers cherokee..day 500, 600? God knows)
The sad thing is that despite the shenanigans, the music was actually pretty enjoyable to listen to. I liked how the source material was corrupted, but still recognizable. Nice job
American patrol, In the Mood, It’s Been A Long, Long Time. Many great big band standards merged into one cluster of dissonant chaos known as “In The Mood”. Very creative and impossible to play. Not beautiful but very innovative in a sort as I have never seen Tenor Sax solos within the range you wrote and this applies to many instruments in this band. This inspired me to go back and use Musescore.
American Patrol jumpscare (I'm sure Glenn would either have a seizure listening to this or help start up a band for you like he did with Charlie Spivak just for you to never be near another of his hit songs again)
As a tenor sax player, I am terrified. Concert pitch double low D (E under the staff on tenor) simply does not exist. I am shaken. Also, this was really good lol, nice job!
most technically difficult bass trombone solo ever
The sad part is that that's more or less the actual part...
As a former bass trombonist I can attest that this is the dream.
trombone 4 got that cruise ship horn as instrument
Everybody gangsta ‘till trombone 4 kicks in
Until that kicked in I was pretty straight faced even though I found this funny, that bit had me cackling.
Quietest bass trombonist
That giant steps refrence in the sax solo KILLED me

"heterosexual" is now the only proper way to notate a straight rhythmic feel
All polyrhythms are now pansexual.
I believe "poly" is the current term unless composing in non-euclidian space
As a polysexual person, I am a fugue now
Gay is an odd time signature I’m guessing?
@@Yeehaw-or7cxwell if heterosexual is for straight playing gay is for swung playing😭😭😭
Alto 3 but no Bari sax? I guess the Bari player wasn’t in the mood
sry, i'll be there next time
This doesn't happen in all arrangements, but sometimes the bari player will pick up an alto and play an alto 3 part.
@@FyreWolfMusic now i wanna write a part that's just me on third alto
Put an octave pedal on an alto and you get a bari. I guess.
@@FyreWolfMusiccan confirm, the chair should really be called Alto 3/Bari with how many tunes you have to play bari on.
"Trombone 4" (SEVERE A FLAT)
I’d like to imagine that trombone 4 tosses their instrument away and hops on a tugboat to play the rest of the song
This is exactly how it sounds when we play it in our orchestra
:(
As a joke, I got me and the rest of the bones to do the honking Ab as a pedal tone. Director’s face was priceless
I actually started dying when it got to the microtonal trumpet solo
Average end of the year jazz band rehearsal
we had drumline shitpost. now its time for big band shitpost
“Sure, I’ll take these edibles before rehearsal. What’s the worst that could happen?”
1:50 it’s been a long long time since I heard that trumpet solo
It isn't that he's not in the mood. He's definitely in the mood for *something* but god help you if you ever find out what
Mlenn Giller
The way that you showcase all the fucked up parts in this song like a proud parent is what gets me lmao
Fridge worthy?
trombone 4 with its fog horn interpretation was spectacular
10/10 TH-cam recommendation
So hysterical, it even causes panic attacks for professional jazz musicians.
Haha I heard Coltrane’s sólo on Giant Steps quoted in there
As a trumpet player I can confirm that the lead part at 0:57 is very reasonable and playable.
"Heterosexual" xD
this video goes so hard on sleep deprivation

the right power in the wrong hands 😂
1:11 When your Tenor 1 is a bebop player and always doubles the BPM if it's not fast
Damn. Apparently Tenor Sax technology has really evolved since I was in school.
I'm gonna tell my kids this is The Glenn Miller Story (1954)
I love how you slipped in American Patrol at 1:39!! Then It’s Been A Long, Long Time at 1:50! Great little Easter eggs!
ok but the sax solo is actually insane
"Trombone" *cruise horn*
You ever just- **BASS TROMBONE**
Also I freaking love this video lol
As a Benny Goodman fan, I approve of this performance!
those death metal kicks really add to the mood
The sudden Leo P caught me so off guard
Trombone foghorn scared the cat 😹
The monsters inc ref was 10/10 GG
I've been trying to go to sleep for the past 5 hours, i need to be up in the nest 4 lmao. I don't regret watching this
Recommend to me and its 3:59am while I'm trying to go to bed.....not Disappointed 😂
Now this is jazz
Did I hear some monsters University in the trumpet solo? Just every comment I've read no one mentioned it yet
and some "it's been a long, long time"
@@OtickTheOtter yeah I heard that one too, it was awesome I just noticed people talking about the it's been a long long time, but not the MU
you're the first one to notice! i love the MU theme and just *had* to put it in somewhere
The giant steps lick ties the tenor part together
bass line was always in the mood
0:36 average metal drumming
I don't see anything wrong with this performance. Molto bravo. Chef's kiss!
American Patrol jumpscare (I'm sure Glenn would either have a seizure listening to this or help start up a band for you like he did with Charlie Spivak just for you to never be near another of his hit songs again)
this video gets recommended to me every day and i always watch it to get a good laugh :) thank you so much for this
I haven't laughed this hard in about a year, don't know why that was so entertaining
I actually cannot stop laughing
Not the giant steps solo 💀💀💀
Mood level: YES
Only drummer is in the mood
Oh no, my bad
That Monsters University reference lol
Atleast the bass was left untouched.
trombone 4 is giving lighthouse fog horn
giant step mentioned. day ruined
Now I want a band to play this, not Midi 😂
Swing+bebop=this
Can we get Beethoven but you aren't feeling the beet
How is no one picking up on that coconut champagne solo reference, absolutely god tier 1:27
I'm glad someone picked up on it!
1:48 made me collapse lol
Glan’t Miller’nt.
2:00 I love how it actually includes xenharmonic notation at this section
mlenn giller killed me 💀
Your drums weren't keeping beat. They were trying to dial into the internet.
Dude why is the first trumpet part so damn easy. WOW!!
Trumpet 1 was showing off too much, smh.
Seriously this is one of my favorite jazz composition, and you made it even better!
I'm traumatized
Clicked thinking it would be a 30 second snippet, but this is a truly high effort shitpost
Greatest thing I’ve seen this month
Thank you for making this! I hate it!
I’ll share this with students. I like the synesthesia jokes
1:52 did you just slip in the credits musics of monsters university?
Gospel by Marchfourth Marching Band
I did!
Haha, Guckenheimer Sauer Kraut band 2.0
As is often said, you really have to know what you're doing to sound this bad intentionally
This actually got me giggling
the intro already got me dying 😭
As a tenor sax player, I am terrified. Concert pitch double low D (E under the staff on tenor) simply does not exist. I am shaken.
Also, this was really good lol, nice job!
if you told me this was an alan baylock arrangement i’d buy it
the last 20 seconds or so was just dci 😭
I actually really enjoyed this!! A lot of it actually worked really well, like the trumpet trills at around 0:50. Fantastic job!! :)
This made my day. Thank you! A masterpiece
pedal tones on tenor sax lmao
0:18 to 0:21 That is about the right amount of time to watch Leo Peee.
The Gospel trumpet 2 solo 😂 Love the stuff man
i didnt know jazz brainrot existed but apparently it does 😭
This is terrifying
legendary yt pull
When Venetian snares meets Glenn miller
As a musician I for whatever reason found this the absolute funniest stupidity I've ever seen XD

Bass trombone? Foghorn at the local port
i love this banjo-sax
This is crazy funny
This is so real
Lmao so epicly cursed😂😂😂 this humour is so niche haha love it
Bro thinks he can hide Giant Steps in the sax solo
1:45. You broke my brain!
At 2:30 I really wanted the trombone 4 part to be in the same key as before
