It's absolutely amazing that GSP could compete while suffering from ulcerative colitis (UC). But GSP is amazing! For me, I didn't improve from UC until I received an infusion of Remicade during my second hospitalization. These days, I like to drink homemade kefir smoothies from raw, unpasteurized whole milk. I also drink chicken bone broth. A few months after my remicade infusion, I regained my lost weight and strength. I even perform GSP's Rushfit workouts again! My favorite Rushfit workout is Total Body Strength and Conditioning. (But in the 1st half of round 5, I substitute rows for pullups.) -I wish GSP all the best!!
@@alexreliford8425 I really hope Remicade works for you. As for tips, you'll find good advice from Kenny Honnas. (Just do a youtube or google search for Kenny Honnas. My only disagreement with Kenny Honnas is that he downplays the benefits of real medicines. But his lifestyle advice is great.) Also, you will need to come to terms with the fact that from now on, you are committed to living as clean and healthy as possible. Your gut is now your master. BUT, this as a good thing! In 20 years, when you're older, you're going to look healthier, run faster, and move better than people half your age! GOOD LUCK!
@@Jaydmalex-qj3cq No, I haven't tried extended fasting. I like to eat an early dinner around 5pm. And once I floss my teeth after dinner, I don't eat until breakfast.
@@alexreliford8425 I think of Ulcerative Colitis patients as the human equivalent of canaries in a coal mine. We're very sensitive to unhealthy environments. So the answer is to minimize our unhealthy environment. That means: no caffeine, very little alcohol, avoid processed food, get lots of sleep, exercise, hike in the mountains as much as possible, and minimize stress. Good luck!
@@ronburgundy1033 You wont die if you do Intermittent fasting. Someone above said george was doing 20 hours fasted each day and then eating for 4 designated hours in a day. His symptoms (ulcer pain) disappeared because the ulcers quite literally could have time to heal while you are not stuffing your face ALL day every day you whole life. You can experiement with doing like 16 hour fasts. Currently doing it for the past 2 week. A few years ago I was doing 20 hour fasts daily for a whole year but It is not optimal for bodybuilding which I am big into.
If you wanted to follow the route of a carnivore diet rice and potatoes are not recommended. You can eat fish/chicken/eggs/lamb or other kinds of meat other than beef, but you'd have to cut out all carbs. Avocado is a source of carbs so you would have to cut that out too.
I developed ulcer colitis last year but didn’t let it ruin my life. I kept to my martial art journey after seeing gsp was still able to train, I got my blue belt in jijstu and continue to develop my Muay Thai but some days are rough with this condition

I just had my first infusion of Remicade. Only 19 so pretty discouraging but was curious if you had any tips?

Incredible that GSP could win that fight whilst also bleeding everyday
More details about how much he fasted would be good
I believe he ate in a 4 hour window and fasted for 20 hours everyday.
I remember he said it was intermittent on jre
Agreed, his exact protocol of what he ate and fasting periods would've been good.
In his Theo von podcast he described it as 16:8 fast along with some total 4 day water fasts
Wouldn't wish U C on my worst enemy. I've had it for years.
Fast
Howd you get diagnosed
I've had it for 10 years now mate.. it's fucking hell on earth.
@@MacJnrDhow long dose it take for fasting to fix UC though ? Do you have to do it for months at a time we would die

Lets not beat around the bush here...he also used anabolic steroids..this may have caused the UC, or exacerbated it. Love the dude tho
Or maybe thats part of the reason he entered remission, steroids are used to treat UC in some cases
no
lol no. Anabolics in no way will cause UC. In fact, there are studies that have shown improvement in UC with the use of anabolics.
