      @DJ Leeman google or youtube the benefits of fasting, tons of resouces will come up

    • @Danjacytes
      @Danjacytes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DJ Leeman Well here is one prevalent theory: Whenever one eats (especially true if sugar/carbohydrates) there is a degree of inflammation that arises throughout the body. If you ever have the time look up how dopamine and serotonin (both neurotransmitters responsible for mood/behaviour/learning/memory) are affected by diet (This'll really blow your mind!). Anyways when you fast for a certain number of hours you are essentially giving your body a rest, allowing it to focus on other problems that it may/may not have. Anytime of inflammation is hazardous to our health and if we can decrease the amount of inflammation we have this can potentially prolong our life span. There is a lot of evidence based research out there to provide weight to this theory

    • @loverofhumanity
      @loverofhumanity ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Danjacytes this is a bit wrong. Inflammation is good and bad for you depending on the situation. If its to kill foreign bodies and invaders, inflammation is actually very good. If its too destroy healthy cells or in autoimmune disorders its very bad. However, you're correct in saying many of our foods that we eat are detrimental and cause unnecessary inflammatry responses that are bad.

    There is something empowering about knowing you can survive without food for more than a couple of days, and there's a lot of health benefits associated with the reactions in your body when you stop eating for a short period. I've been doing intermittent fasting on and off for a few years now. Currently been doing again for 2 months. I think this time I will just stay om permanently.
    I do it where I just eat once a day and honestly it's super easy. I don't really get very hungry anymore and I don't have to eat anything specific. I don't constantly think about my next meal.
    I do want to try the 3 day fast but the most I've gone so far is about 27hrs. I have to mark a date to get prepared mentally, but in a weird eay I'm looking forward to it.
    I don't do it to lose weight though as I have a similar physique to these guys. I'm doing it for anti ageing.

      Honestly the first 24 hours are the hardest. I do 48 hour fast every 7 days and 72 hour every 30 days. Day 2 is is easier but I do get some stomach rumbling at day 3, other than that it's fine. The trick is to keep your self busy, if I sit at home on my fasting days I keep thinking about food a lot that's why I rather extend my time between fasting so it falls on my working days and not weekends.

      @@laalaajonsen from what I understand from a layman point of view is that the body is very good at adapting to different environmental stimulus. When the body is on a pure water fast it readjusts its requirements for electrolytes because no electrolytes are coming in. It pulls electrolytes from your fat and muscle and tries to recycle them through your kidneys. When you break a pure water fast recklessly the body doesn't have a chance to adapt and the recycled electrolytes rush back into the cells which is a massive system stress. The big concern with the refeed is if you were pure water fasting, from watching keto/carnivore/fasting groups/ my own experiences a lot of people can still eat solids first thing after a salt and electrolyte water fast, the thing is to manage the portion. I cant vouch for breaking an electrolyte water fast with processed food, never done and I don't recommend it.

    Muslims compulsory fast One month straight once a year.
    Then additional optional either every Monday and/or Thursday weekly, or three days monthly.
    There is also fasting on alternate days. Meaning if you fast today, you don't fast tomorrow, but you fasting again on the next day.

    Fasting causes ed and serious health risk, its not recommended to fast more than 72 hours. And ontop of that his doing omad?? Thats a recipe for malnourishment. Its not safe for everyone, like anemics, diabetics, for various mental disorders etc. An electrolyte imbalance could literally cause cardiac arrest, hypoglycemia, low blood sugar, its just not worth it. Like no shit hes fit if hes barely eating and keeps himself active its easy to get slim. The optimal diet for omnivores is balanced diet of meat, eggs, dairy and forage plant foods. 2 or 3 times a day. No mono meals or excess of any food group. No excess salt, fat, or sugar. U dont need exercise just keep yourself up and moving is great for blood, brain, bone yes.

    You’re not going to get muscle from fasting. That is ridiculous. Your body will actually start feeding on your muscles very quickly and you’ll most likely lose muscle, therefore some doctors recommend eating some form of protein during a fast in order to reduce the muscle degradation.

    • @ivarskailand1745
      @ivarskailand1745 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I disagree, as long as you use the muscles mildly during a fast, the body wont eat your muscles, sure maybe the glycogen will be extinguished, but after eating your first few meals you will go straight back to your former state, and you will have lost most of your dependensies of sugar and karbs :D

      Wrong. Do some research before spouting bullshit. HGH rises on day 3 of fasting causing muscle sparing.

      Well, if you fast (but not under-eat which can lead to starvation mode), you can preserve muscle. But building muscle is still nonsensical. If you want to build (non-necessary, energetically expensive) tissue, you need to be overfed, that is quite obvious.

    • @ivarskailand1745
      @ivarskailand1745 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aquarius9043 That is not true. You can build muscle and lose weight. That myth comes from the correct fact that people with alot of muscle cant build muscle while losing weight and therfore i cant too. I have done this myself. Its called recomp. You eat alot of protein and slowly cut while training well. Its pretty easy tbh.
