I am removing the trans from my 13 Tiguan 4motion. I have repeatedly used your video as a guide. It was very helpful and detailed enough to include each step that is necessary. Thanks for putting it up. Subscribed! FYI Driver's side CV shaft was a real treat to remove. Took hours of prying and driving with chisel and air hammer and PB Blaster overnight...Thanks again.
Hey man that’s awesome news ! I’m glad my video helped you out that’s the only reason I put them up thanks for watching hopefully I have some other useful content for you in the future ! Yes those cv’s can put up a fight when they are seized 😞
@@Olaffski had to do all that to drop the trans, punch out the access plug, just so I could remove the sheared water pump pulley bolt from the end of the countershaft. Got to love "repair shops" that don't realize it's reverse thread and then reuse it after it's cracked.
@@joelclark1961 mannnnnn that sucks . I feel your pain , that’s why a lot of shops I find don’t like to work on euro stuff , but it’s a great little market to get into if you do decent work your name spreads fast in almost any city and there is no shortage of work that’s for sure
I used a big dent puller/slide hammer with a chain to get that cv axle out. Wrap the chain around the inner hub of the axle so it can't come off and use a hook on the chain connected to the slide hammer. Comes out first or second go.
Hey, man. I performed the same job in a 2015 one, but now the car won’t go into gears, no codes, fluid ok, but it don’t move. Do you know what could be?
I am doing this exact repair process on the exact same engine, however, the bevel box will not come out. I have all bolts removed and the axles and rear driveshaft are free. The unit will spin and move away from the transmission a slight bit only. I have tried prying with a bar,to no avail. Do you happen to have any removal tips for the bevel box? Thanks
Hey frank ! Are you able to rotate it at all I think what you are experiencing is the shaft from the bevel box which is splined into the trans must be seized or the snap ring is really holding on tight , silly question but driveshaft is unbolted from back size and 4 bevel box mounting bolts if I recall correct ? If all those are off either snap ring at end of shaft is holding on like a stuck axle that needs a good pry bar shock to release or the splines on the input shaft are nice and rusty and seized it’ll hold on for dear life but mine wasn’t very hard to remove came out easy , try those and let me know boss 🤟🏻
46 garage, thanks for the response. Yes,I believe that you are correct about the circlip ring being quite stuck. I was expecting it to come out without this much trouble. All bolts are free...rear drive has been disconnected. I have tried prying with a giant bar...also a thick cold chisel, to no avail! I have decided to get some M10x1.5 all-thread and bolt it to the unit. Then fit something to enable a slide hammer. Thanks again for the insight.

Look at that sexy purple monster! 💜
Hahah thank you bro !!!! The purple tiguana 🤘🏻🤘🏻😈😈
How much is this service suppose to cost
Book time around 9 hours plus parts so depends on your local shop labour rate and whatever they charge you for shop supply and parts !
You left out the most important part about replacing the actual seal
Sorry ! Straight forward bolt in unit on this engine the new seal will come with an instruction manual on how to seat the lips otherwise easy easy!
how can i rotate drive shaft to access all three bolts?
ha, im an idiot and forgot i took off the shift cable and was trying to shift from inside the car :/
Put it in neutral !
@@Olaffskihi - I’ve left the parking brake on in error - any ideas to what options I have to remove the 3 bolts - please
I think my b7 tsi is leaking. I wish I know I could fix it myself
So you go through the whole process of maing the video and you dont show the actual seal or installation of the seal. What a waste of time smh.
