  • Baha’i music composer Tom Price delivered six great talks at the 2012 Tennessee Baha’i School, called “Recreating Ourselves in the Image of the Master”.
    For those of you who have yet to hear one of Tom’s talks, you’re in for a treat! Tom Price’s talks on The Five Year Plan are still one of our most popular posts ever and you can listen to them here on Baha'i Blog's Soundcloud page: / the-5-year-plan-tom-price
    In these wonderful talks Tom Price shares six of Abdu’l-Baha’s attributes and looks at how we can learn from them and adopt them into our own lives.
    Abdu’l-Baha, (also referred to as the Master) was Baha’u’llah’s eldest son and appointed successor, and He is considered the perfect example of how to live according to the Baha’i teachings.
    We hope you enjoy these talks as much as we do, and please let us know what you think in the comments section and feel free to share this post with your friends. You'll also find a variety of other talks, discourses and lectures on Soundcloud: / bahai-talks
    Happy Listening, and a BIG THANK YOU to Tom Price for this wonderful service!

    The original audio files that Tom posted on his website years ago inspired my to begin changing my life to emulate the examples of the Master. These changes prepared me to accept calamities/blessings including the sudden death of my youngest son and remain focused on spreading the Healing Message of Bahá'u'lláh through subsequent crises with joy and radiance. Mahalo, Ke Akua!

    Tom is an expert speaker, I have learnt a lot from his speech, not only the selection and interpretation of some of the holy writings, but also from his method to keep the audience engaged, humor, and flow. He is surely a good writer too. Uses most rhetorical techniques makes you want to bing Listen to his talks. I wish he does more, and if he ha time, maybe write a book for Bahais on being an engaging speaker. We don't always have to speak to many, you can use these methods to speak at a fire side, a devotional even to your friends. When he used in one of his speech Gabriel the cute baby was to bring alive an idea with a real character. Didn't just say any baby as an analogy but a real baby with a name. When he uses humor and gives examples from science he makes you think and wonder about the interaction between material things and the spiritual dimension. He also doesn't use monotone and does not only throw facts but synthesizes them into a coherent story that you wait to know what's next. The use of humor itself is a spice that makes you forget boredom, thus raising your dopamine everytime it drops a little. Superb speaker. I hope I can learn more to apply in my devotional meetings.

    Clearly Abdul Baha wasn’t always happy though, if conflict and disunity saddens His heart. We have to be a bit subtle to understand these paradoxes.

    Hi. Is it possible to add captions?

    • @BahaiBlog
      @BahaiBlog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! That's a great question! Unfortunately, we simply don't have the time or resources to create our own captions to this or other talks we've shared. However, this video does allow you to turn on the closed captioning provided by TH-cam (the little button in the bottom right corner of the video that says "CC"). Because these captions are generated by TH-cam, they are not very accurate when it comes to talking about the Founders, historical figures, or concepts and terminology of the Baha'i Faith.
