    Ultimate is in the eye of the beholder. I have a $800.00 savage 6.5cm with a vortex viper that will drive nails at 600 yds and consistently hit a 2’x2’ target at 1000. I am very much an amateur distance shooter also. Your weapon looks fantastic.

      Starting with the fact that the bullet always goes in the direction the rifle is pointed, then to always hit where aimed only requires pointing the rifle with consistent sight alignment and pulling the trigger smoothly without disturbing aim. Support these two shooting principles from a steady position and some knowledge about external ballistics and a shooter should get awesome results with rack grade equipment. This is proven in US Service Rifle Competition where trained shooters shoot good scores and untrained shooters shoot poorly. The point is this, it’s the Indian not the arrow and you demonstrate that by being able to get consistent sight alignment and smooth trigger control from a solid position. The cartridge you’re shooting is also a factor to good shooting. it’s laser like MOA wind constant of about 16 at 600 yards, means the bullet is less effected by wind and thus your knowledge of how to counter for wind is not as important as it would be shooting a less laser like cartridge. At any rate, shooting at 1000 yards and grouping inside 2 MOA is very good shooting. If you can do that from a sling supported position it would place you in the top High Master Class of NRA Long-Range Competition.

    • @morganh2800
      @morganh2800 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      The scope is a system in of itself. It can be put on other rifles. Buy a scope for its capabilities not for the rifle's capabilties. Otherwise you end up with a mediocre rifle with a mediocre scope. A high end scope makes any mediocre rifle into a decent rifle. And when you decide to upgrade the rifle your high end scope is already capable, no upgrade. Your scope is not your rifle. Buy the best scope you can afford. Don't sacrifice solid construction and glass quality for bells and whistles.

    You prove shooting from a bipod support can be fun. Next, try out NRA Long-Range Competition in iron sight sling supported US Service Rifle Division. That competition is most challenging and it gives you an opportunity to test knowledge and skills against professional Military Marksmen. This competition is relatively inexpensive too. You can get off to a great start by attending the United States Army Marksmanship Unit’s Small Arms Firing School, an annual 3 day event held the last weekend of July at Camp Perry Ohio.

      Yeah, even the gun community gets caught up thinking suppressors are Hollywood quiet. For long range shooting noise level is probably #3 on the list for suppressor purpose. Flash reduction and muzzle velocity are probably #1 and #2. Suppressor only obscures a rifle's report so much.

    • @bjornegan6421
      @bjornegan6421 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I know of an account in which a guy was shooting suppressed, with what was supposed to be subsonic ammunition. One round was a double charge, the gun blew up and the hearing damage was supposedly substantial as the noise that usually mostly goes down the barrel and out of the muzzle instead came out of the ejection port very close to his head. shooting suppressed is not ever hearing 'safe', even if you do not receive hearing damage.

    if it’s 308 then i’d definitely prefer a platform like the SR25

    Wow all that fancy chassis and in the end it's still just a bolt action not unlike the venerable Mauser or Remington 700 or a Springfield and the Winchester model 70 or Ruger m77

    That thing looks so sleek and lightweight holy shit i want one. i only weigh about 112 lbs so i gotta look for smaller firearms that wont completely blow out my weak ass shoulder lmfao xD What is this one called?

    • @WeWantAShrubbery
      @WeWantAShrubbery ปีที่แล้ว

      Smaller gun bigger kick.
      I have a Ruger American .308 with a Precision Armament M4-72 slapped on it and it barely kicks at all.
      I also have a Mosin Nagant and that thing will blow your arm off if you're laying down or rested on a table. I got a muzzle break for it too, and I swear the first time I shot it felt like the gun was getting pulled AWAY from my shoulder.
      So, yeah. A brake or suppressor takes a lot of the kick away.

      I suggest you learn what 1000 yards really is by getting a range finder then go to the farmlands where you can see what 1000 yards looks like, then you will learn shooting a 308 to 1000 yard is not going to happen hitting anything.
      The biggest liars on TH-cam always make claims of shooting 1000 yard then this same liar if stood on a street corner asked to show how far 1000 yards is they will point to 2 or 3 city blocks to them is 1000 yards.

      @@Lure-Benson Sonny, you make it sound like the .308/7.62 just drops out of the sky at 1K or cannot even reach that far for some reason. Well I'm here to tell you that the .308/7.62 HAS killed a LOT of Bad Guys over the years. It may have not connected with the first or even the second shot but if it hit its intended target in a vital location, it's a good bet that individual wasn't going to be running any marathons or playing golf or even bowling anytime soon.
      In fact, and again assuming the projo hit the VITALS, I'd put good money on someone having to write Ol' Mr. Tally Ban's Mommy and telling her that he wasn't coming home to feed his favorite goat ever again.
      Now I'll admit that there are BETTER cartridges that far (!) outclassed the venerable .308/7.62 nowadays, but for you to dismiss the round as something of disdain shows your ignorance and foolishness and I'm calling YOU out on those properties on this social media site here and now.
      So how do you like THEM Road Apples?!?

    So many of you are showing cans! Aka silencers, show me the performance of the caliber and rifle. ? Not all of can afford what is currently out there. I work my ass off just to make my bills. What can you recommend that is fast, affordable on someone that needs a 2 household income just to make it, but still dreams of having a semi decent firearm
