Sir Steve, you're quite a MotoRockStar🎵🎸🎶Warrior! I felt your pain as you were riding wet and frozen at an impressive speed to insure that you wouldn't "miss the boat🛳" Also really enjoy your tunes...sets the mood perfectly!
@@TwoWheeledDreamer Steve, I knew that you were able to drive all the way to Burgos... Although i'm sure it must have definitely been a mind over matter🤪🤔😬ordeal!..but you knocked it out of the park with style 👍Above all, have fun and stay safe! Love your tunes🎸🎶
That was a long haul all the way down from France to the south of Spain for the ferry. Not very enjoyable, especially when you are tied to a timeframe and have to use motorways. But glad to see that you got there safely and in plenty of time. Now you can relax (as you said in the video) and enjoy the rest of your trip. Looking forward to the next episode!!!
I live in Arizona and ride an R1200RT, and even here when I head north during the winter months I love my heated seat and grips. Travel safe and always get some sleep. You need to be alert for those crazy drivers 👍
Greetings way over in Arizona! Those heated grips are essential! A heated seat sounds good too... At some point, hopefully soon, I intend to get a decent road trip under my belt in the states... Thanks for watching! 🙂
Hi Steve, I've just come across your channel, and the first 3 episodes of this trip have got me hooked. Brilliant content and somewhat of an inspiration. I ride an old R1200 RT and I'd love to do this kind of trip, but I'm a little unsure of my bikes capabilities (and mine). Currently dreaming of getting myself a GS and doing this kind of thing. Until then, I'll live the experience through people like yourself, cheers.
Hi Ian, I'm so glad you are enjoying the episodes and it always makes me really happy to hear when people find them inspirational. Should you get yourself a GS I don't think you would regret it... I am very, very impressed with mine and I am already planning the next big tour which I'll undertake in about a month's time. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
You took the words out of my mouth. Just add another day to reach the ferry and take a more leisurely ride. You wouldn’t run the bike with very little fuel, so why do it to yourself? Long hours and little sleep, food and drinks can be a recipe for disaster.
Hi Peter, so glad you are enjoying it! Yes, I was definitely hoping Morocco would deliver some heat... My GS has around 36K on out now and touch wood, whilst in my ownership it has behaved itself 🙂
Hi Mike, so glad you're enjoying them. Thew gloves are made by Knox - they are as warm and as dry a glove I ever had - I recommend them... Thanks for watching 🙂
Sounds like you are going to have a great trip! Norway is on my list... One day I hope to have a bit more time to make my rides as bit more relaxed but for now, the mega-long days are my only way to get it done. It's a good job I like being on the bike! 😂
I'm thinking of doing a tour to Morocco 🇲🇦 next year. Can I ask where you got the ferry from and to, and what the plan with temporary motorbike import, insurance etc, did you organise this before travelling or when you arrived? Great channel by the way 👏
Hi there, I’m so glad you are enjoying the channel. A tour of Morocco will be a brilliant experience on a bike, definitely go for it! I got the ferry from Algercaris to Tanger Med. all was nice and straight forward. The temporary bike insurance was as simple as stopping at the customs office and showing them the V5 (must be the original!). I bought a weeks insurance from the insurance office, again straightforward and cost me around £50 or so. Have a great trip if you go! 😁
Thanks for that. I've already done nc 500 And around Europe, france, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, normandy brittany i would like to do Arctic Circle and Morocco 🇲🇦 before hanging my helmet up. I look forward to finishing this episode cheers
Just re watching your nc500 vids ( awesome by the way) can I ask what tyres you used they look quite Chucky off road type and how well did they do on normal roads ? Many thanks in advance
@@Kevcoy74 Hi there! So glad you are enjoying them! I have Michelin Anakee Wilds fitted. They are a 50/50 tyre and I am very pleased with them. Reassuring off and on road. A little bit noisy on the tarmac but that is to be expected with the knobbies. Thanks for watching 🙂
Hi David, one day I'll get heated clothing when my TH-cam ship comes in! Hopefully my next jaunt will allow me to avoid the motorways... Thanks for watching! 🙂
Doing this in winter is no fun. Heated clothing makes it ok. I'm not sure why you'd choose to do this... unless you're just testing your endurance levels?
For a variety of reason it was the only window of opportunity I had to do the trip, so I had to go with it. Actually set off in Autumn but didn't expect it to be quite so cold and wet! Heated clothes are definitely something I will be looking into!
Riding on the African continent was a huge deal for me and if I had had more time I would have gone further still. Algeria was but a stones throw away in the end!
Super epic, wow, monstrous - LOL. A guy on a big beemer rolling motorway and starting at 3am. Totally done - “i plan to take it easy and enjoy myself”. Yes, LOL, we see. Clearly a greenhorn. Well everyone has to find a way to learn it hard and realize later how silly his overdramatization actually is. All for a good click on the tubes, right. F it. Authenticity and something new instead of wasting peoples times with motorways on beemers - calling them to join an epic ride. Spain can be easily as epic if not more than morocco, but then, you need to ride very differently and in different places. This was just a greenhorn race to the ferry. Nothing epic about it, actually pretty foolish.
I don't think watching a video you are not interested in is compulsory. Perhaps your time could be better spent doing something you enjoy. Just a thought.
Nice one looking forward to the next episode
Thank you! So glad you are enjoying it! 🙂
Really enjoying sharing this experience -much appreciated. Ride safe

Good stuff man looking forward to next 1.Thanks
Thanks Derrick, it's great to have you along for the ride! 🙂
That's a loooong day, well done. A few hours rest on the boat before the final push to the b&b 👍
Thank you Mark, it certainly was a long one and that boat had never been so welcome. Thanks for watching 🙂
Loving the video. ☺

Thanks my friend, yes it was a bit of a slog but a necessary evil and definitely worth it in the end. So glad you are enjoying the series! 🙂
Great! However, treat yourself to some new, warm and waterproof kit when you get back. 👍

It's always better to be early for a ferry mate. And I always keep stuff in the same place, so it's not just you 😂😂😂
Thanks Richard, clearly a kindred spirit! 😊
loving this series Steve, hopefully it gets nice and warm now for you !!
So glad you are enjoying it my friend, I really wasn't expecting Spain to be so cold! 🥶
I did this route on my way to Tenerife a few years back on my old 2009 GSA , it’s was 40 degrees then though lol.
Hi there, hopefully seeing this episode brought back some good memories for you. I could have used some of that heat!! 😂Thanks for watching 😊

OMG Steve this is crazy! You need to sleep, eat and rest properly. You look beyond exhausted 😢

Have you optimized videos before you publish? I have also watched some of your videos and loved it. I think videos like those should get more views.

Thanks @@TwoWheeledDreamer . Yes - I really like the style of video, so fun to watch. And I've just bought a GS ;-)

I did Dieppe to Toulouse in one day in April and still hit snow around Limoges. You just never know!

Bit weird, you are off to Morocco, not the whole of Africa which is a huge continent.
