It's well known that Google slows down TH-cam uploads on Firefox. It's the only reason I have Chrome on my PC. Upload speeds are 2x faster on Chrome and this is a widespread and well researched topic.

It's job is to draw images, shapes like squares, rectangles, circles, etc and text using CPU or GPU acceleration and that's it. The actual rendering engine, layout engine and JS engine are different between the 2 browsers. Saying Firefox is the same thing as Chrome because both use Skia is like saying a Corolla is the same thing as a Lamborghini because they both use Michelin tyres.
Fun fact: Firefox is dependent on Google as they fund Firefox and in return Google is the default which is typical for Google except Firefox relies on this to keep existing.

what is bro saying? using foss projects funded by large companies still allows us to view the source code. chromium is shit by default but many browsers built on it are not the same. firefox by default has invasive telemetry that you must disable or use a browser built on firefox like librewolf (which has its own issues) brave is one of the most respected and usable browsers. brave has built in support for tor, has a less invasive search engine by default, and is open source. i dont use brave because i prefer firefox with its keyboard shortcuts and ofc manifest v2 but brave is a valid chromium browser also waterfox is closed source and likely was stealing data DO NOT RECOMMEND
The first public releases of Ladybird won't even be ready for everyday usage either. It's extremely difficult and complex to make a web browser completely from scratch. So maybe it will be something usable in 2026 or 2027. Who knows how long it will take. If it will even happen at all. We don't even know that part yet.
The last time i used firefox was on my Steam deck a few months ago because it comes preinstalled, i was watching a past broadcast of a playthrough on Twitch and it kept having frame drops. I swapped to my Samsung 23 Tablet that also had firefox on it and it had the same issues. I then went back to my Steam deck and installed Brave and then it played without frame drops and i guess thats why i don't use firefox.
Using Brave, it's practically all I use, similar to Chrome, but actually much, much more security, little tracking and built-in ad-blocker. I'd never use Chrome by choice, but in Android, regardless of what you set your default browser to, Google apps love to ignore you and just open it in Chrome. I now loath Google.
