100% agree with you. This suit is actualy one of my favorite suits i've seen superman wear, it looks tangeble, lived in, like a uniform superman would put on when he goes out to save the day. I dont think people know how cool this version of superman is going to look, David Corinswet is 6’4 and in boots hes gonna be 6’5-6’6. Great video. Just like the first looks at Captain America many years ago, and the teaser poster with his head down, it will be the context of the film that shows the spirit of his character in response to the challenges. He doesn't need be smiling in the sun. It's also clear that the tactile look of the suit and the fact that he is putting on his boots is meant to demonstrate a more relatable Superman persona rather than the otherworldly godlike onesie of MOS. It's been crazy backlash the past few days. I've just tried reminding myself how critical everyone was of the Pattinson suit reveal being too derivative of Nolan, terrible cowl, funny looking collar, bright red light that looks like Daredevil, music that sounds like Darth Vader, didn't create any hype, and hardly showed off the suit at all. And The Batman obviously went on to perform better than BvS at the box office. These costume reveals don't define the trajectory of the audience response to the film itself.

Great take. I also don't think it's the only suit we're going to see because it looks like a proto-suit to me. Something made at home from fire resistant materials. Regardless of what Superman looks like, I believe this movie is going to be great.

All they had to do was make an appealing suit that doesn't look TV show cheap. We would've respected it if they actually put some thought into this suit instead of copying GOTG costumes.
Honestly I would've gone with the Superman Rebirth suit it's the perfect suit for live action. But I don't really care about the suit I care more about the characterization. Hopefully James Gunn's Superman will be the total opposite of Zack Snyder's. Instead of dark and gritty we should get hopeful and optimistic. Not gonna lie I'm kinda sick of brooding evil Superman. We desperately need a Superman like Tyler Hoechlin in the movies. Superman & Lois is hands down the best modern adaptation of Superman.

I don’t think there was much to compete with. The one before was a scuba suit by comparison. It appears like he went with more of a practical (most likely Kryptonian space suit)

So why do we need to see Kal-El putting his shoes on in the first place? I don't recall ever seeing The Flash get dressed either. So this photo kinda ruins the immersion, imo. But more importantly... Point #2 - DC is always competing with Marvel at the box office. So lemme get this right... Superman comes from planet Krypton which has technology that is sooooo much more advanced than anything found on Earth. And in the MCU, over the past few years we see that Iron Man + Black Panther + Killmonger + and Spider-Man all have advanced nano-technology that enables their suits to literally melt on/off their bodies, in mere split-seconds... but in the new DCU we gotta watch Superman slowly put his rubber boots on (one by one)?? C'mon man. Really James Gunn? That's crazy. It's the "little things" like this why DC always stays playing second-fiddle to Marvel. This is just another reason why it was such a bad idea to use THAT particular photo. Strong men of the past were large but not ripped like say Dwayne Johnson they had size sure but not hulking abs and biceps. Most of the time they wore leotards painted to look like muscles so I guess in that respect the airbrushed suits work🤪

For me it's just that I hate the New 52 suit and this inspiration on that suit it's just a let down, and other things (collar)that I really don't like and remember some of the marvel ones.. In the positive way I love the colors and the symbol... I know that James will create a great story and that is the most important thing and David will probably be the best superman.. But we also have the right to have our opinion because the fans of this character know that this film is super important to move forward with this universe... But it's a matter of taste, but I must say that we heard James talk so much about inspirations from old comics and even suits from that time that it was much more likely that he follow more classic line but he ended up choosing a style that wasn't even successful.
