Txxjac Yes I know. And that's AAVE. And if you think that's stupid, well sorry to say (well not really sorry), but you're part of the problem. People talk shit about AAVE all the time, yet they don't realize how it's, again, slamming Black culture because it's "lesser" than, too "ghetto" or whatever reason. You might not be doing that consciously, but it's still a problem. Intent vs. impact. Yet this video and other Grace Neutral is doing is all about learning to embrace other culture, other beauty standard, other race as beautiful too. You're kind missing the point by saying "slay" is stupid. You're not exactly at fault, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that we have to become aware of system of oppression we take part in, by the smallest thing, by the microagression we do with even thinking about it. AAVE is valid, it's not stupid.
I really need to say how thankful I am for i-D and Grace to be doing this because being a latin american country with a bunch of political and economical issues usually means not having a voice to be heard worldwide. Not even just that, but this shows a lot how the world's view of our country reflects on us because black brazilian women are invisible when it comes to their rights, and at the same time extremely sexualized, on the rest of the world and over here too. Our own vision of the country and the women here is very shitty and it has been going on since fucking colonization but I'm so glad we have these girls who are really changing the game and raising their voices for this new generation.
Their style is dope. I'm going on a natural hair journey and this has inspire me even more to cut my hair and start this new project I've been planning. I can't wait to visit BRAZIL. OWN YOUR FEMINISM✊🏿✨. This is beyond beautiful ❤️!
Something so soothing about Grace, I'd known about her for ages through her work as a tattoo artist, but seeing her in this new light really makes you appreciate her more! She never passes judgment, forever optimistic and truly listens to what people are saying and doesn't just make assumptions. Please let Grace travel the world and show us what is happening!
this is the kind of feminism that should be promoted all around the world.. Women with real problems of harassment.. not hugh mongus type of women that are offended by even inhaling air next to a man. I truly hope in brazil, gradually things will get better for women there. You go girls!
Dear... Men here say that feminism in Brazil is useless, because apparently we've already conquered all our civil rights (and that would be awesome if all our theoretical rights actually applied to our everyday reality). They say here that we, women, have no battles to fight for, that we should be glad for not being treated horribly as middle east women who get spanked for not using hijabs. Our problems here are usually taken lightly. So, as you can see, everywhere there are women fighting battles, and there are also people demeaning their struggle. So, to you, the complains of women where you live must be frivolous and silly, but that's also what they try to make us believe here in Brazil. Even if the foreign media shows that Brazil is one of the most sexist countries, where women suffer from rape, demeaning and domestic violence too often, men here often say: "that's not what I do, so that's not the truth, these are thoughts of feminists playing victims' roles". So, thanks for your concern, but broaden your view, cause that's something we ask everyday for brazilian men (and even some women too) to do, but the more the days pass, the more they make me really want to believe that I'm only fighting against windmills, just so that I can rest from all this hatred, from all this tiring routine of everyday asking and begging "pleeease, look at what's happening outside, look at what's happening in poor communities, at streets, and even at broad day light". That's me only asking for empathy. I do not wish to be better than men, I do not wish to be better than anyone, I only wish for a better city, a better country, a better world for us to live within.
I think you've got something wrong. Men say that feminism is ludacris in USA or Europe. It's needed in countries like Brazil, muslim countries etc. The cultural and social level is not even comparable.
That was my point, men in many places say feminism is ludacris and compare themselves to countries in which sexism is far worse. I'm Brazilian and believe me when I say, most men here think feminism is unnecessary in our country, cause we've got the same civil rights as men, so we have "nothing to fight for". Also, they say that all the rapes, abuses and demeaning of women has nothing to do with sexism, but only about the abuser himself being a bad person, and that here sexism is not a "thing" anymore. You see, probably everywhere men are ridiculing feminism, so that women will shut up and say nothing anymore to "annoy" them. :(
I know nothing of state in Brazil. So I can't comment on that. I'm from Europe and I've lived over years in countless countries here. Here there is absolute equility i believe that with all my heart. I'm an uncle to 3 girls and I can say with certainty that they live in a great society where ultimately they will have all the same opportnities men have. There very, very few instances where in our culture women have less rights. So when we get an occasional wave of feminists, my personal experience (and you must agree experience is a great teacher) teaches me that feminists have rational or critical thinking skills, are mostly dogmatic and have no clue on what are they even fighting for and often don't contribute to the society. Now this is my experience in Europe, if Brazil is as bad as you say, hell you need a movement to change it but It's cultural so It's not gonna change over night.
I really enjoyed this series (and the last one in South Korea), and I think Grace is a wonderful host. She asks intelligent questions with a nonjudgmental, open minded warmth, and I appreciate that a lot. More, please!
"Machismo is everywhere in this world, and Brazil is full of it. I really admire Lay and every black feminist militant brazilian woman, you need a lot of strength to go against against the male chauvinist e racism. I'm really proud of being a woman, the feminist movement is beautiful. Being feminist is fighting for gender equality, equality of rights, which everyone has (deserves). It's funny that people freak out and go against women doing what they want with their own bodies. The porn industry that displays women in the more animalistic ways possible isn't a scandal, but a woman that thinks by herself, doesn't wear a bra or just doesn't shave is a scandal? pfft, go f*** yourself! (Natality is gorgeous)" Closest to a translation! Tentei, hehe
Hey, sorry for my english. Im not from the english speaking countries I'm South Asian. but..I LOVE THIS VIDEO. My fellow women and men speaking up for themselves instead of sitting down. I would love to watch one of these videos in maybe India,Sri Lanka or the rest of the South Asian countries, because I know there is a lot of critics against dark skin people, I mean there is bleaching products, and young girls are using them, to become ''fair and lovely'' (the products name). I would love to see a video, if there is a little majority of people fighting against these issues. Also like LGBTQ communities, and the fact that women are 'below' men. There was this big case in India called the ''2012 Delhi gang rape'' it was in a bus. A girl was gang raped, the girl died later on and the men behind it was interviewed, and they weren't even sorry, they were justifying it by saying ''Well what was a woman doing out at that time?'' Somebody really needs to 'expose' the South Asian countries, because people think it's all like in bollywood and curry yaay. Like no. This was all over the place, but I just had to get it out. But Hats off to all the Grace Neutral videos on here, I really love them.
Hi I'm from Colombia. I'm very exited about this youtube channel. I really love it and I wanna see more of this. I hope someday youll visit Colombia. Thank you staff for make it happen.
FUCKING AMAZING SERIES... As an expat brazilian living in the UK for about half of my life, it's a relief to see revolution happening from each corner of Brasil... Indeed Revolution starts at home!!!!
I absolutely love Grace! This is my favorite series. There is so much beauty in this world being overshadowed by the media. I never new how amazing these women are and what they stand for.
i need to share this video, not just because i am an brazilian guy, but because i feel that power from my people. and every day we learn how to become more resilient, like these womans.
Grace Neutral is such an amazing inspiration. ♡ And so are all of the beautiful people she gets too meet from Brazil too Korea and everywhere in between. ♡
I cant stress this enough on how i love grace and this series so much!! Gives you a better look at how other countries view beauty. Thank you I-D you guys rock! I hope they do Dominican Republic!!
I love this serie and how grace face the problematics around beauty in the countries. I recomend her to do it in Medellin, Colombia, the "drug trafficking beauty" and how the violence left a beauty legacy because of the time of Pablo Escobar. It could be a nice place to interview.
Congratulations, your work is just super! Showing the other side of Brazil and its diversity is so empowering for people that was used to see themselves as not beautiful. Thank you and all these people in the video for the great job!!!!
They just keep getting better and better, and I thought they were already the best they could be! Please keep giving us more of Grace and anything to individuality. 💋
I just LOVE this series and love Grace so much, i-D is fckn awesome. I'm glad to see you guys are running away from Brazilian old stereotypes of happiness, cause at this moment, happiness is all we don't have here. Talking about feminism, the only thing I missed in this series was some mention about our first woman president, Dilma Rousseff, taken down from the power in a sad, shameful and sexist coup. She was elected in 2014 with more than 54 million votes, but this year she was impeached with no reason by a conservative congress of religious, moralist and corrupt men. Brazil is living now a grouth of fascism, with a nocive mainstream media teasing people to hate more and more. Unfortunately my English is not that good, but The Intercept, with Glenn Greenwald, is doing an excellent coverage in English about whats happening here. Women, as always, are some of the most affected victims in a moment like this. Brazil right now is pure caos, we are getting back 50 years in time, and resisting is the only way for women here. By taking down our president Dilma, those men took down all Brazilian women. And we'll take a really long time to get up again.
"This body was made to be consumed" what a powerful statement. in a country like Brazil, it must to tough to be a woman where almost everywhere a her physical appearance is being advertised and sold.
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!! I am a brazilian girl and it is wonderful to be able to see my revolutionaries compatriots having a voice in this magazine, thank you Grace, you're beautiful
I'm so glad with the work that you made in Brazil. I could see so many things that i couldn't achiev before being a small town Brazilian boy. Amazing. Realy amazing. Thank you so much. I love your stile. You inspires me 💙
I am loving this series, I am learning from all the experiences. As a black male I am impacted to see these women fighting! I'm inspired by their strength! Much LOVE ID!! Peace and Grace to you all.
I had chills with the greatest smile ever. Tears waiting to fall because of this movement. But to document this on TH-cam ... Dios! Epic. ✊👊 More please! Love you Grace. 🌟💕✨
This was so wonderful to watch - thank you i-D and Grace for showing us these beauties. I'm a refugee from Somalia and grew up in Sweden from the age of 4 years old was really tough as a child. I was getting so much abuse for my skin color and religion. And now I'm being sexualized and exoticised because of my skin because of my confidence. I don't talk much about this with everyone because I've been shut down, people tell me I'm lucky - I live a fabulous life. This is the life I have created for myself and I'm proud but it doesn't mean this bullshit still isn't happening to other young girls. We need to stay together and lift each other up, and not say things like 'well look how you're dressed' no one asks for abuse. And whoever tells you racism or harassment doesn't exist need some serious education and a reality check.
Where can I listen to Lay's music?!?! She's not on TH-cam or Apple Music as far as I can tell. Someone please send a link I want to hear the songs from this video!!
OMG I fucking love Grace and what she's doing in this series! We've gotta show the world that different people exist! I was born and raised in São Paulo and I know how difficult it is for a woman to live here (I have 3 sisters and many girls friends). Keep it up please
I like the way in that they presents the several ways of beauty, not judging, just revealing that everyone can express how they feel or think in many ways, all of them are right
I didn't know till now that the Brazilian ladies has such an styles like they nailed it... Fuck got no words... And about the harassment in sao Paulo place is like it really need a raise a voice so that can every girls can be safe and feel free to walk around... I really loved grace and how shes becoming a voice for several stories..!!
As a Brazilian woman, I feel so proud of all these powerful women I've seen thought this series and so happy because our reality is been shown to the world. Only the women who live here know how hard it is to be respected and treated as a human being here, and not as an object. But we will keep on fighting. it's time for spreading this awful reality to the whole world in order to change it.
I've just found your channel and I'm in love with how much caring and loving you were while doing this. I will defenetily stick around here for more videos, you've got me with this amazing series about my country. Obviously I don't fully understand how these women feel, and what you feel in your country, but I know how hard it is to be an LGBT person here in Brazil, so seen a foreign badass girl noticing and giving attention to what we suffer here is simply wonderful. Thank you so much for this.
What a great video! I loved it! Grace did an excellent work. Here, in Brazil, not every woman suffers like that (which includes me), but I know and I see everyday women being pushed down by foolish morals of society. Alone, we may not make it, but all together, we sure will. Thank you for this inspiring video, for making me believe more, giving me the will to seek more and more about the truth.
Grace you are a beautiful woman spreading a beautiful message. Your "fighting the system" attitude gives you such an edge that many can't follow. I find great interest and inspiration from your videos.
So many extraordinarily beautiful people in this series, in body and in soulo and heart and fight. I love them, and Grace. I love every episode she deals.
for me nataly neri is the most wonderful woman in the world, she talk so good about feminism in brazil and about black power, I'll forever always support it
Thank you.
as a Brazilian young girl, I am really glad to see such a good representation of female power figures here in Brazil and I couldn't be any more inspired.
M3RD0CK "places like this and africa" don't need American feminism. They can keep their feminism and focus on themselves, Brazilian women and African women have the power to have their own movement without the unwanted help of Americans.
M3RD0CK again, other countries don't need American assistance. They can handle it themselves. Americans aren't the saviours of everyone else. They normally only make things worse.
MORE please ID take grace everywhere in the world this is the best series I saw
Yeees!
Violate Crystal agreed!
Violate Crystal !!!!!! reason why I'm subscribed!
Violate Crystal indeed this is the only reason I subscribed because she makes amazing and inspiring documentary
Agree on that!
This brazillian rapper SLAYYYYS . And i NEVER use that stupid term.
LIKE, LITERALLY, NEVER... *vocal fry*
I guess all AAVE is stupid in your vision. Great.
YASSSS
Haru is Jjang
What? Why does there always have to be that one person...?
Im talking about the term " slays" as in " Damn she slayed my life !!!!"

Mariana sad but true

I hope someday youll visit Colombia. Thank you staff for make it happen.
This is honestly so incredible. Grace is an amazingly insightful and beautiful person and I'd love to see more of this series for sure!
I really loved those , I just hope the girls in it don't get targeted because of it, seems tough to be a girl there :(
Is more though here whem you're gay, like, the harassment get worse
well Brazil has the largest gay population ratio in the entire world so its not so surprising that gays get harrassed less
Wrong
We get harrassed every day
Doesn't chaged at all
lydia k almost half of all the murder cases of gays in the world happen in Brazil
is tough to be a girl in the whole world ma fren
I'm Brazilian, this video represents me! ♥ Lovely xx!
Micaela Ramos Brasileira aqui também! Represent 👏🏼🌹

Grace is so sweet and open minded, as always. 😤😢🙄❤👏👏✊
grace neutral bringing the fucking goods, this series is amazing.
Eu acho q deveria aparecer a Conká aí, Pq ela é outra q representa as mulheres
@@mauraraysamonteiro37 representa sim, por causa dela percebi o quanto o Brasil e racista
"This body was made to be consumed" what a powerful statement. in a country like Brazil, it must to tough to be a woman where almost everywhere a her physical appearance is being advertised and sold.
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!! I am a brazilian girl and it is wonderful to be able to see my revolutionaries compatriots having a voice in this magazine, thank you Grace, you're beautiful
fuck man... grace is a blessing!!! keep her in this channel pleaaaaaaaaaaase!!!

love love your series! so inspiring, so motivating. It gives me hope
for those who couldn't find the badass rapper, she goes by the name Laysa on youtube and spotify
I can't find her on spotify either. I want to listen to her music!

Me encantan vuestros videos! Muchas gracias!

Mano do céu! Quanta gente maravilha 💜
Can't believe it's over !!!! Nataly is a true inspiration, it's a shame you didn't have more time to talk to her, she's so intelligent and so young 💜
OMG I fucking love Grace and what she's doing in this series! We've gotta show the world that different people exist! I was born and raised in São Paulo and I know how difficult it is for a woman to live here (I have 3 sisters and many girls friends). Keep it up please
This series is so freaking good! Love Grace Neutral!!!
This was so great. Grace should go to India next lol
I like the way in that they presents the several ways of beauty, not judging, just revealing that everyone can express how they feel or think in many ways, all of them are right
Wow so inspiring to see so many women challenging beauty norms by having hairy arm pits!!!
So bold and so brave,
No need to shave!!!
Grace is a REALLY great interviewer, I loved watching this!!
Minas, amei essa série! ✨ muita brasilidade é assim que eu gosto! Luz!
wow so SAD read these comments.... like can you focus on the real issue of this video.
Thanks to everyone involved in this.. Thank you thank you thank you..
this series is flawlesssssssssss omggggg I'm so hyyyyyyype!!!!!
Thank you for this inspiring video, for making me believe more, giving me the will to seek more and more about the truth.
bro i love these videos. thanks grace, ur awesome
I adore Grace, so gentle, beautiful and understanding, I love her documentaries give us more
Grace you are a beautiful woman spreading a beautiful message. Your "fighting the system" attitude gives you such an edge that many can't follow. I find great interest and inspiration from your videos.
So many extraordinarily beautiful people in this series, in body and in soulo and heart and fight. I love them, and Grace. I love every episode she deals.
OMG, I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT !!! I WANT MOOOOOOOORE !!! COME BACK TO BRAZIL !!!
Awesome work they doing, great to see young people and specially women speak about stuff that matters. Big congrats to ID
for me nataly neri is the most wonderful woman in the world, she talk so good about feminism in brazil and about black power, I'll forever always support it
I really love your mini series... hope to see a new trip!!!
Wow I just discovered I-D, I just love it!!!!
Thank you.
I Love this series so much!!!😍👏realy good job
as a Brazilian young girl, I am really glad to see such a good representation of female power figures here in Brazil and I couldn't be any more inspired.
feminism in america should be focusing its attention on places like this and africa where it is needed
M3RD0CK "places like this and africa" don't need American feminism. They can keep their feminism and focus on themselves, Brazilian women and African women have the power to have their own movement without the unwanted help of Americans.
feminism in us is very successful, so much so it has become toxic, so helping other countries would help it regain its satus
M3RD0CK again, other countries don't need American assistance. They can handle it themselves. Americans aren't the saviours of everyone else. They normally only make things worse.
i agree, im from england and dislike america overall. i just see feminism going to shit there and wish they did something more productive
America still needs feminism, they have high numbers in rape and street harassement, also women have little political representation
Grace has such a sweet voice.
I LOVE these series. Please Grace, and i-D, i would love more from around the world!
Grace is so inspiring her self. Keep the good work up girl!
