We had a body to dispose of, and the Purple tube turned out to be a perfect fit. After putting the body in the tube, we carried it out to the car and threw it in the trunk. No one had any idea what we were doing. Thanks, Purple!

We ended up returning ours because it was too firm for my arthritis, HOWEVER, I have to say that the company was AWESOME about it. I emailed them, they replied right away, and in two days there were guys there to pick up and it was donated to a family in need. Purple donates the mattresses instead of taking them back used. The next day Purple sent a receipt of the refund being sent to our credit card. If you have any question about trying out the bed, DO IT, if you don't like it, it's super easy to return and get a full refund. Best customer service ever.
I had the same experience based on reviews and talking to purple that it was medium with great pressure but was way to firm for all my shoulder/lumbar damage. I'm hoping the purple 4 will be much softer with a ton of pressure relief so I can finally not sleep in pain every night.
I tried to get Purple to donate a bed to me after having a level 2 ACDF surgery and having complications. Been on 60% of my pay for 7 months. They told me they do not donate any of their returns. :(

I am being treated for reactive arthritis AND this is one heavy mattress. Hello, make sure you keep the white side up. My very first night on my beautiful Queen Purple Original was incredible. Got one for my wife's hospital bed and she loves it!
We got our purple mattress about a week ago in queen size. Took less then 5 mins with my wife to setup. Just make sure after you take it out of the first layer of plastic the mattress is up. Soon as you break open the second layer of plastic it expands fast. Nice bed. The sheets and mattress protector from purple are comfortable and don't come up around the corners like our old sheets did.
I bought purplre jammy's now my wife cant find me if i go to bed first.
The outer shell-cutter that came with mine broke into several pieces the moment I tried to use it, luckily a knife works just as well. Otherwise, I've really enjoyed the bed!
So, let me get this right, I actually need a friend. Dammit! :) lol

I weigh about 120 and the queen purple i got weighs about 140. i got it in the house, set up the frame, got the "purple burrito" on the frame, lost the cutter at about the final foot of the cutting, so finished that with my boot knife, unrolled (and unrolled and unrolled, etc.) about 30 feet of wrap plastic, from the actual mattress. made sure to get the whole thing so that the "purple" logo was at the "foot" of the frame, facing up, of course. Then I started to unroll my prize. when it was finally on the frame, looking perfect, i was tired, but happy i had done it myself, and feeling somewhat accomplished, in my choice to have a better bed, and in getting the thing on new purple frame (which is also amazing btw, and easy to set up,) I just flopped down on it... looked up at the ceiling and realised...it was all worth it to get to where I could literally say "AHHHHHH...yes... purple!"

I want one & I cant wait! I'm flat out drooling, and thats only about the KING mattress. I'm certain that I'd have a mini-stroke if I keep thinking about buying the whole shebang (protector, pillow, STRETCHY SHEETS).
My first one was bad out of the box "bag", I had it replaced and the second one comes in today.

The only thing this video didn't show is how difficult the unrolling process is, because the second you unroll it, it'll be upside down. So you then have to flip a 100lbs floppy mattress over. My bedframe goes around the edge of the mattress, so that was not easy.
If I ever had to re-do the unpacking experience, I'd open it on the floor.

Mine didn't come with a cutting tool either! So I just slowly pulled the bag off until the mattress slid out, then used the bag to hold all of the plastic wrap after unwrapping the bed.

Unrolling now and there's much plastic wrap lol. They skipped that part for sure.
I did it by myself. Lugged it up the stairs- great workout! Than slid it out so I can have the purple duffel bag (lol) and than slowly started to unroll to make sure that the bed flipped on the right side. (You can see the gray underside and which way it’s going) did it probably within 20 min (counting the stair workout) I’m still unsure about the bed. Not sure how I like feeling that squishy material. I also wish that the bed was thicker. I’ll give it a couple more days to see if I return or not. My husband on the other hand sleeps like a baby! And he’s a VERY light sleeper. He hasn’t been since sleeping on this. He is a roofer and he said his body doesn’t hurt when he gets up.

So I ordered mine last night around 8pm and got it this morning about an hour ago going to open it once my base comes set up the base and the bed at once ;) was really surprised on having it arrive next day one of the perks of living next to the actual facility being 10 minutes away I guess but I’m extremely excited been saving for 2 years for the whole set up definitely worth every penny I’ve slept on the purple mattress before when I was watching my bosses house while he was on vacation

Getting the Purple Queen for our Little Guy Max travel trailer. Our new camper has a real queen inexpensive mattress in it that we are getting rid of to put this Purple one in. Double in thickness can't wait to rough it in the great out doors!! LOL

Yeah, mine didn't come with a cutting tool and I had to unroll it myself. Upside down I might add because the way they vacuum sealed it was backwards.
I had the exact same problem -- it unrolled upside down once I got the kajillion layers of plastic off. No idea how I'm going to turn it over by myself :(
I got mine (king) out of the tube without cutting it.....If you unwrap the inner plastic very carefully, you can adjust for it being rolled upside down, before it flops out flat.....
They must have changed the purple bag, because mine had a zipper. You don't have to cut it anymore. Once removed, I CAREFULLY used a utility knife to cut through all the layers of plastic wrap (careful to cut only the layers, not the mattress.) The mattress started filling with air and unrolling itself. Overall, I thought setup was very easy, including the Purple Frame, which I also bought. And I did it all myself, with no other help. If you can't lift it by yourself, then obviously you should get help with the lifting. Otherwise, one person can do it.
Haha wish i seen this unrolled mine this morning was. Not easy. Mine did not come with a razor to open or samples either.

Is the diamond pattern supposed to run vertical or horizontal. We unpacked our just like the video, it was super easy, but it doesn't seem to fit the king size foundation we have correctly.

I read the directions & still did it wrong- lol. I wish I'd realized it was talking about the purple duffel bag, as opposed to
the purple fabric on the inside of said duffel bag. lol. I didn't cut it either because it didn't make sense to me at that point.
But none the less, I got it done by myself.
Question. In the instructions it says not to cut the vacuum sealed portion of the package before fully unrolling it otherwise the mattress could get damaged… what happens if u accidentally cut the seal before fully u rolling the mattress?? 😅
hi I am considering buying your mattress but I have a couple questions before I do or don't; first I have a locked tail bone, it hurts like hell whenever I do anything that involves it moving it also hurts when I sit or lie down I am just wondering what it can do to help it because I know it helps with muscles but I don't know what it will do with a bone; next I have a spring mattress with a memory foam top layer I just want to know what the difference it would make; I have seen your comparisons with the different types of mattress but I have a combination and want to know how good it is instead. if you can answer these questions I would be very happy thanks.

This thing was a pain to get out of the 100 layers of Plastic. Do the edges/ ends come up after a while they are like smushed in.?

I ordered a bed that came with sheets and also a bed platform to put my mattress on from them also. The shipments for all three items all come at different times and my mattress comes first 🤦🏻♂️. I guess i have to sleep with the mattress on the floor for a week until my platform comes? Was hoping it’ll all come in the mail at the same time

Just got off the phone with a Purple customer representative that pretty much told me i have to call the FedEx company themselves and tell them to stall my mattress delivery to the same date as my platform/sheets which makes no sense to me because it means i have to wait longer. He also told me its normal for all items to be shipped/delivered to arrive on all different days. A little disappointing but its fine. I will manage.
I think only the purple hybrid has the cutting tool. I ordered the original one and it didn’t come with a cutting tool.
We just received a Hybrid 3 today and there was no cutting tool (or Sleep Guide). Older reviewers on other sites discussed receiving a small sample of the hyper-elastic polymer, which I was also looking forward to, but alas...
Our cutter was all way way down the wrong end so we had to cut the tube open with scissors all the way down to get the the cutter. Kind of pointless. Then the mattress was rolled up wrong so the grey was on the inside, so when it was unrolled grey side was up. And...there was a stain on the end of it. It was easy to clean off but it smelled like cherry candy. So...I'm thinking this was a used one. It seems comfy though. Can't wait to try it out tonight.

The tool is supposed to be at the ZIPPERED end. You're supposed to unzip the end, reach in and grab the tool, then use it to slice the length of the tube. This wasn't the case. Read the instructions above. We unzipped the end (Instruction step #2) reached in and no cutting tool. It was all the way at the NON zippered end. *eye roll*
How long does it take to air out?
It fully inflates within 45 minutes or so.

There is a zipper on the cover but we recommend not removing it since it's super tricking getting back on.

You need to work with retailers such as Macy’s to not give out Premier 3’s and 4’s that have been rolled up in June to someone who got it delivered on September 8th. 3 replacements later, all of them came with the mattress deformed and the grid separated upwards from the outer foam by 2 inches. Very disappointing experience on my end.

It is less than helpful when the cutting tool is packaged at the bottom of the tube, well out of reach from the one open end!
Why not just implement a zipper on the bag? Wouldnt that be just as easy?

1. Because a zipper implies that you could seal it back up again. The purple mattress is machine rolled to fit into the bag, there is no way any normal person will ever be able to do it again.
2. Save on manufacturing costs.

Hey Luis! The non-toxic plastic powder coating we use is polyethylene copolymer, which is a food-contact-grade plastic considered to be safe (FDA, WHO/IARC, and Environment Canada have all declared it safe for use).
From a safety perspective this powder is no different than what you’ll find in baby sunscreen, or powder cosmetics applied to the face, such as blush.

God Damn! This mattress was so heavy! Took almost an hour for my husband and I to get it upstairs into our room. By that time we were so tired we couldn't lift it up onto the frame. Do not grab just one buddy but a couple to assist.

Should include a step where you first wash the outside packaging. Ours came DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY!!!! It was like it was rolled down a dirt road. Other than that mattress is AMAZING!

BS......my purple two came without the little cutter or instructions. Once I cut the outside wrap the mattress had about 10 wraps of shrink wrap on it which took forever to get off and filled the back of my truck with waste plastic. FedEx stood it outside my door at 8pm at night and did not ring my bell
