I don’t think that would work. The problem is that the mattress is too thin to safely break someone’s fall before they hit the bottom. You’d basically be free falling onto the box spring regardless if the mattress is there or not. That’s why they had to double up.

I own a Purple mattress because of those commercials. I've tested it myself and it's the real deal...not sure what this video is trying to imply. I'm a 200-pound man and I've stepped on the eggs, jumped on them and fallen on them and I've never had a single one break. Best mattress I've ever owned, going strong for over 6 months now.

Two small layers wouldn’t stop you from getting your back hurt if you fell from that height if the mattress was only on the floor. So yes, it’s mainly because the bed was on a foundation... Just like in the commercial. If you take the bed from inside the commercial and placed it on the floor, yes, your back would be hurt still. And the fact that they got a cheaper mattress with less layers and still managed to not break the eggs, that’s amazing.
The funny thing to me is…it’s still proven to be the best mattress out…it’s not like I’m 400 + pounds with raw eggs strapped to me every time I go to sleep @ night 🙄🙄

This test is misleading. A vertical egg can withstand a lot of pressure because of it's shape. Turn that egg the same way you smash it on his head and I'm betting they break every time.
Not really, having a mattress too soft that you sink into is no good for your back, having one too hard isnt good either you need a good inbetween, this mattress looks way way too soft.

I bought the purple mattress and it’s the most comfortable one I have ever tried. But just to test it out, I did one of the test myself and the eggs didn’t crack.

They have several different models of mattress available for purchase (with the extra layers and thickness), but Inside Edition buys basically a base model and tries to debunk the test. And it still essentially passes. LOL Thanks for proving Purple's point!

This test is misleading. A vertical egg can withstand a lot of pressure because of it's shape. Turn that egg the same way you smash it on his head and I'm betting they break every time.

Not really, having a mattress too soft that you sink into is no good for your back, having one too hard isnt good either you need a good inbetween, this mattress looks way way too soft.

I bought the purple mattress and it’s the most comfortable one I have ever tried. But just to test it out, I did one of the test myself and the eggs didn’t crack.

They have several different models of mattress available for purchase (with the extra layers and thickness), but Inside Edition buys basically a base model and tries to debunk the test. And it still essentially passes. LOL Thanks for proving Purple's point!
