- In today's van life vlog, we get a Van Tour from Bev, a Solo Female Living in a Van Conversion!
It is an amazing tiny house on wheels that cost only $5,500. She added another $1,500 in upgrades - so Bev is full time RV living and enjoying van life in a van that cost $7,000. Wait until you see the inside, it is such a beautiful tiny house on wheels and an amazing van conversion for such an affordable price.

Bev is 57 and proud and was fascinated by solo female RV living and was interested in exploring solo female fan life. She is into minimalism so the storage limitations of a campervan were not in issue for Bev. A friend of hers does van life builds and offered to sell her her latest van conversion. Bev was a little unsure at first about living in a van build. She went camping with her friend and vell in love with this camper van conversion. So she bought the RV camper van for $5,500.

She was really excited about solo female van life and adding more solo female travel to her already extensive list of travel locations but she wanted something that could work at campgrounds but also had some tiny house off grid capability. So she invested another $1,500 in to her RV camper van conversion and made it more suitable for off grid living.
Bev's van life build is truly amazing. It's such a comfortable and amazing tiny house on wheels. It really made me think about how accessible this full time RV life really is. Bev also addresses the apprehension of some to solo female van life, solo female rv lving, and solo female travel in general. She talks about the groups she's a member of that have helped her transition into solo female van life.

You could totally do it!! maybe you could find a van on facebook marketplace to renovate with a friend or on your own, or if you have kids who are handy they could help!! I live in a van on weekends (only weekends because of lockdown) and i honestly think there are such great van life communities out there. Maybe you could find van life pages near you on facebook. 💛

For women especially living the van/RV life, you can get vehicle motion detectors for the outside jof your vehicle just like a house.
A barking dog alarm, which is a very good idea because most people are scared of a loud, unexpected barking dog LOL.. You can buy them anywhere like Amazon, Home Depot, etc.

Ha... love you Tiara. It was so fun spending Madilyns Birthday and the 4th of July with you and your sweet family.
This is a van that she's definitely turned into a home. Such a beautiful interior, and one of the least cluttered van builds I've seen so far.
A few questions; what does she typically cook when she does so, where does she bathe, how warm does it get inside with the fireplace, and how does she keep cool inside?
She cooks outside on a portable stove or grill. She bathes at campgrounds. it gets so warm she usually has to turn it down in the middle of the night - she wishes she had gotten one with a thermostat. She has fans and tries to stay where it's cooler but is looking at installing a roof top AC.

@@BecomingBev Well I'm not so sure if I could redraw that picture it was in 1979 when I first did that drawing, I kept it for a lot of years somewhere over the years it got lost in stuff I was throwing away. I also drew a semi truck around the same time I drew the van, I left that drawing of the semi on my bedroom wall till after I moved out of my parents house, it was still there for years after I had moved out and I found out that my nephew in Michigan has that semi truck drawing, my brother told me he took it when he came to Arkansas to visit them. I don't draw like I use to. I'm heavenly into gardening now. I love your van always wanted one of those still to this day. Happy Van Life to you.

Firstly I’m a guy from the UK, but loved this video. I have been Tiny-House mad for a couple of years but starting to swing towards Van-Life due to the additional freedom it gives you. I didn’t think van thinking I wouldn’t have room but seeing some of the fit-outs and even this lady’s van with the fridge at the front and the small fire was a cracking idea and having a full-size bed initially seemed extravagant but wow, it generated so much storage space it was unbelievable.. When I saw the size of the van I almost didn’t watch but wow, everything you need even a loo... I think I am really converted now, definitely Van-Life... Thank-you for the video and insight...
I love the extravagance of having the full size bed. It feels like a posh hotel. It does take a bit to set up when I want to cook but I cook extra and keep it in the fridge. You really get how important every nook of storage is. I wish you the best in your tiny house/van life journey.

@@BecomingBev I travel in a van in Australia and sleep with a small hammer and bright torch beside my bed - just in case. I've practiced where to hit an intruder for maximum effect while shining the torch in their face - but never had to use them. Yet it is good security of sorts to not feel so vulnerable in remote areas.

When I say "I melted", I actually melted out of my chair & on to the floor. It was a borderline tantrum, haha. My problem with something this beautiful is we have a 70 lb black shedding machine (lab/chow) who destroys vacuums at a rate of 3 per year. No way would we be able to travel full time with him in something as gorgeous as what you have, but believe me...I'll be dreaming of yours when we finally build ours. I have watched tons of these videos over the past 2 years & I have truly never seen anything so soothing or that really spoke to the girly side of me. Stay safe & happy travels.

I have lived in my van for several months now. I wash the bedding about once a week. Bleach is my friend. Lol. You wouldn’t be afraid in real life, you’d be impressed with how comfortable it is.

Yeah, especially now....it's a tough time to find bargains on RVs. But I bet after Covid there will be some deals to be had.
I bought it for a thousand dollars less than she would have sold it to someone else for... the best friend deal.
