Thank You Sakura for sharing such a lovely video. Such great techniques for all levels of Letterers! I finally invested in the Koi's and WOW! Love love LOVEEEE them! They're a joy to brush letter and blend together! But please...I have to say that laser jet paper really isn't that great. Yes...it's budget friendly, but these...and many other markers...aren't. Most of your products are high grade and I truly believe that purchasing higher grade paper will lead to a longer life for these beautiful brush pens. I guess my beginner's experience with laser jet paper was awful. It's cheap😞 and in trying to save money, I spent more in the replacement of some of them. The fraying of my Koi's, Tombow's and Pentel brush pens was a let down. But at least I catched on quickly and switched over to better grade paper. To each is own, but in the end these tools are investments. And taking care of them includes using them with quality paper. Just saying😀😉😊📝🙋.... Again Thank You Sakura...I'm a loyal purchaser of your products and will continue to be so for many Lettering years to come! From Massachusetts...Laura Lettering By Laura📝☕💙💛😊
Hi Laura! The paper I use is HP Premium Choice Laserjet Paper (32lb). This paper is very smooth and I haven't run into any fraying issues when I use them with the Koi brush pens. Other options you could try include marker paper, rhodia pads, or tracing paper!
Erica Pinto Oh so happy you replied...Thank You so much. I do have the Rhodia notepads and they are wonderful to letter on along with marker paper too! Maybe I need to give the one you used a try...it sounds great. I'm a huge fan of your Lettering and I most certainly appreciate your time in responding to me🙏....
musictoliveby08 I don't remember but I know it was a higher number...maybe that was the problem. Do you Letter? If so, what paper do you use? I have tried several brands and by far the worse is GP. But ironically their 110 white cardstock is wonderful! I do have a FB Page...Lettering By Laura [Artline Stix markers are in my profile picture] and I show what papers I use the most😁😳....
Bonnie Butts Oh please don't think that way...I have Doctor scratch for writing...I work in the ER...and my Lettering is the best I've ever seen in years!

Hi Laura I use black and white printer paper
Unfortunately, one must have nice handwriting to be able to do this. I wish mine could look like this!
actually you don't
this doesn't have anything to do with handwriting
go look it up
You don't need nice handwriting to try brush lettering! There are lots of great resources (worksheets, workshops, etc.) for beginners. Give it a try!

Actually you don’t need to have nice handwriting, mine is bad too, but I sucessed at calligraphy
