I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Shen Yun's performance firsthand, and I was deeply impressed by the extraordinary talent of its artists. Anyone who has experienced their show would find it inconceivable to believe the negative claims made by The New York Times. It’s clear that only truly exceptional individuals could produce such a remarkable performance with profound moral values.

The NY Times article was one-sided. It's as though the reporters were trying to fit a certain narrative, rather than conduct an honest investigation in which they interview former performers with positive and negative views. There are hundreds of former performers, but they found and focused entirely on nine people who were disgruntled.

Thank you for full episode and insightful view,!
Actually, for any employee working in any field or any company, there's a polite rule in HR that once we leave the company and get into a new job in a new company, we'd better not to mention negative things about our old company because firstly the employer will not 100% believe what we say but also it shows how you treat the work you did, who you are, and wonder if you do the same in the new environment. No matter how long we stayed for the previous work, what we could do to build up the working culture together makes sense more, it's part of our personal growth. It's not only about showing a professional behavior at working skill after leaving, but it reflects our personality as well.
It's sad and lack of professional objective that NYT just interviewed several people but wrote like all of Shen Yun members the same. Furthermore, for those who left and mentioned on NYT articles, I wonder if they are regretting for what they did now, who gonna dare to work with them in the future? They don't aware that they are abused for CCP''s dark purpose behind NYT.
I believe that Shen Yun is one of the best place for any dancer /artist, because, nowhere else focus on helping you develop and discover the best of yourselves, to reach the best version of you and your manners. It's more important than money, money is never enough but living meaningfully is more important.
Effortlessness is just a myth, SY staffs' highest effort and hard-working deserve to be highly respected!

I really like to see Shen Yun with my kids. The show gives inspiration, pleasure and fun. The physical abilities are among the greatest you've seen in shows around the globe, the content is not vulgar, violent or sexual, always with a moral. I don't believe the New York Times. If it were true that dancers don't receive medical treatment or unfair treatment, they wouldn't stay at Shen Yun. Especially since they are at an international professional level, they would not stay in the group. Every dancing group would be happy to have professionals of such a level.

11:11 as an older dancer in his 40s (30 + years of dancing) my personal understanding why dancers find difficult after some time (usually after 40) is that a lot of people lose his/her drive and motivation rather than physical body wearing down (plus a lot more distraction & other obligations). I find this common in every professional field. Feeling drowsy at 30 is very unfortunate as that’s the age most elite company would start pushing dancers hard & it’s also the age when you really start to grow as an artist. I hope more veteran artists in SY can really find a new drive and inspire new generation of artists! That being said I’ve seen plenty of artists/acrobats performing well beyond 40s some into 50s

Americans who attack the faith of others are not being true to our Constitution. Our country was founded on freedom of religion. And Americans are free to have no religion, too, and we respect them also.
