heating the battery is something you should ALWAYS avoid. Most likely by heating the circuit board, you've resoldered the connection. this is good, but next time, please remember to not heath the battery, as you are only damaging it by doing this

They design the power bank such a way you only need slim li poly batteries not easily avlb in market, try to fit slim smart phone batteries or li ion (18650 batteries outside cabinet)
