I’ve just started using the ST on my first coat. I’m still not sure about it but it’s definitely getting my first coat perfectly flat with a lot less strain.

My local muck spreader uses something similar but only on straight runs, probably why the chieftan pushed all my cables out of his way causing some brown trouser moments.... Praise the lord for pen and paper measurements hey......

Everyone relies on these new speed skim and flex trowels but always solid trowel keep plaster flat

Yes I agree with you but the speed skim definitely makes your life easier but don’t think you can Chuck your normal trowels in the bin 👍

I struggled with it myself (1200) and I’m not a plasterer by trade but more a decorator who also plasters. I used it on a wall that in places was back to brick so because there was no issues of water ingress etc I used bonding and it worked great, was on a staircase with no scaffold or planks (just a ladder). In hindsight I’d have gotten a 900mm but i suppose going in at the deep end will work in the long run!

The 900is a good allrounder but I find the 1200 really comes good on flatting big ceilings and nice big walls
