    Was searching for info about this Mauser M18 , and accidentally found your exellent video . You should rename it and mention Mauser M 18 .( as another mate commented ) After viewing this , I´ll buy my M18 with out doubt , thanks for your professional work. I shoot normally at 400/ 500 mts and put most shots in a dish size target , but after watching this fellows , I feel like an apprentice ....¡¡¡

    I’ve posted links to a few folks I know in the market and this rifle is currently on for $800CDN.

    Oh, I have this rifle in 308. It's ammo sensitive. If you don't hand load you gonna have to try a variety. My 308 with a 150gn FMJBT and 42.5gns will reach 1000 but my ballistic calculator given my size and load won't come up with an "ethical" solution. After all unless you're hunting dangerous predators for me 150yds is it for me!

    Respectfully... clearly this is advertising ... which is okay when attempting to in sell a product within a “ market”. However to claim a product is not capable or is not “fit for purpose” is to not understand hunting ... or being reasonably ethical. Certainly given if you do not have tracking skills when you wound that animal and not kill it. One should have field craft when hunting ... stocking... tracking ... concealment - whether it is game or “ other”. To shoot at that distance specific to killing is simply clap trap.

    • @davidcarstenpedersen1027
      @davidcarstenpedersen1027 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      im the dane behind the gun. I would NEVER shoot an animal that far away. but its great for practice. And fun. I prefer a stalk up to about 50 meters. Or even better - 15 meters with the bow. But this is range fun. And that's all its portraid to be.
      have fun and hunt hard

  • @Napshine
    @Napshine 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This just one massive ad for blaser / Mauser. If I'd spent $10 grand on a rifle I'd expect it to shoot well to a kilometre! This rifle retails for 10x your average rifle

    • @mankey648y
      @mankey648y 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not disagreeing about it being an ad, but 10x retail compared to the average rifle? I disagree. $1,700-1,800ish for the M12 and $699 msrp for the M18. The M18 may be double what some other rifles, but it is about the same as what they are competing against. The Remington 700, and the various other rifles that are in that price range (which coincidentally amount to the majority of rifles used by hunters)

    • @bobfall

      On the flip side, you get people who can do it all day every day. You set your ballistics chart up correctly, you get your wind reading spot on and it's a case of dialling the turrets to meet what you've read out. Your only as good as the info and time you put in to it . Anyway, if you can get a 1 shot kill by doing your maths correctly there's no need for any more is there ;)
