GTA 5 really captured the soulless nature of cashing in on celebrity behavior under the guise of journalism. It's not about journalism; it's voyeurism for profit.
Lots of celebs pay for paparazzi to appear at certain times and places though. Celebrities wouldn't be happy if people weren't allowed to take photographs of them anymore
Tabloids, celeb gossip... it's an utter garbage. And so are paparazzis. He might have taken some interesting photos but that doesn't outweigh his absolute lack of empathy and respect for other people's privacy. A clear signs of a psychopath...
Imagine a freshly widowed single mother, recuperating from witnessing her husband getting headshot dead with a rifle from feet away, telling her traumatized young son that "your dad got shot and btw there's this dude creeping around, ambushing us to try to shoot photos of us with this camera with a crazy as shit-bright flash". Thats some "safe space" for you, as the kids would call it
There's a great event that happened in 1960s Hollywood. The paparazzi were harassing actress Anita Ekberg at home, she ordered them to leave, they didn't. She then came out with a bow and arrow and gave them one last chance.... Apparently two were hit, and it resulted in a great picture of the actress aiming right into the lens of the camera.
it's bizarre that people even see value in these photos as they are in fact not even good photos, catching someone in a brief moment of confusion serves no purpose and the photos are composed in such a haphazard way that they have essentially no value.
I really dont like this guy. He got paid to stalk people. He was reckless too. Who knows what kinda accidents he couldve caused. What if that boy had injured himself from that fall. If some old man took a picture of my kid, i would be in jail after what i do to them. What a creep.
I have something else to add here. What this guy does is the same as those tiktokers that shove phones in people's faces for content. Without caring about how it affects the person they're shoveing their phone into. Which makes me like this guy even less.
Artistic intent doesn't override the right to privacy He took it too far & modern paparazzi's obviously taken it further He was a very charming man though

I don’t care about celebrities. I don’t care about what they’re doing. I have no sympathy for them either, they wanted the life they got … but it is clearly stalking. If someone followed you with intent do something, assault of some kind is pretty much illegal. This is the same but you take the R word out of it and you put getting a photo to sell. It should be illegal but like I said they all wanted to be famous public figures so they need to deal with the consequences. Every kid wants to be famous now it’s influencer, I have no interest. I think fame looks dull, boring and seedy. Have to hide half the time. Pay someone to be with you 24/7 because you can’t go to the store. It’s the dark side to American culture. They can have it

Gallela didn't capture the beginning of a smile with his prized picture of Jackie O. That looks more like a look of feeling irritated, wanting him to go away.
Nailed it at the end. Valid questions about the morality of his methods aside, Ron's motivation certainly seems to be the art. Where as modern paparazzi are motivated by money and money alone. They just want pics to hock to TMZ, the sun, or whoever will pay them. Same action in a sense, but totally different motivation. And yes, Ron was wealthy, but that was secondary to his art, regardless what you think of it.
