One other thing. I wanted to mention what a beautiful set of covers you have. Note the extraordinary penmanship. We will never see this artistry again.
The first row are in use before the end of WW1's conclusion. They were used during Kaiser Welhelm's 2nd Reich. They were discontinued when the Kaiser abdicated and left Germany for Holland. The first one is earliar than the "Germania" series and you know this because it says "Reichpost" as apposed to "Deutschpost" The words you were searching for is "over print"'.
You have a wonderful collection and thank you for sharing. One thing, though. You were stating the stamp denominations in Deutsche Marks as the true denominations of these stamps were actually in Pfennig meaning one pfennig equals 1/100 of a Deutsche Mark. In other words, no dissimilar to the comparison of our US penny to our US Dollar. (not to be confused with the Euro (currency of the European Union, nor the Canadian Loonie. Again, thank you so much for sharing your collection. I hope, some day, to build my collection to even half of yours. Good luck and good life. Never foget.
Great collection! You have a really descriptive ww2 series, which I absolutely envy! have just finished organizing my german stamps up to 1924, when the rentenpfennig ended the hyperinflation. I think you should have stressed that the hyperinflation all took place in less than one year. The postcard at 12.11 is from the Italian speaking pat of Switzerland. Helvetica on the stamp is switzerland, so maybe the Nazi on holiday was hiding money at the same time... ;) !
cant wait to watch. i think the concept of telling history through stamps is great in general, this is of course a particularly good example. stamps are all works of art. fun. my dad didnt have that us stamp. im gonna see if its affordable.
Amazing collection, I just recently started collecting WWII era German stamps myself. I would really like to get a pair of the last stamps made in 1945 but they are pretty expensive compared to the rest.
Great video. Great collection. Thanks for sharing. Couple questions. What reference book do you use for chronology and identification? What display album is that you are displaying your collection?
These are stored in a stockbook rather than being mounted in an album, the stamps are just placed under a clear mylar band. There won't be a problem with stamps sticking together unless the book gets wet.
Great collection! I have started because I am a history buff. It seems there are lots of counterfeits out there. How can you make sure you collect the right stuff?
I have a nice collection of stamp just like those from 1800s to the space race with all the Sputnik and us stamps how would I kno there worth if u read this by any chance
Stamp values are subjective, and places like ebay drove up cost of getting them (and probably overpaying too). As far as I am concerned, the Scotts Stamp Catalogue is the standard for stamp values.
Majority of my school teachers was all German highly educated then disappearing due to the Vietnam War plus the fact devaluation and decimalisation every school I went from infant private Midland Road School to mainstream School Green Lane and lepage boys school and also Thornton Grammar School which was called Carlton Grammar School not far away from the railway station and Midland Hotel Bradford that the Peel group hold the deeds of registry of ownership
Thank you for preserving this history and your message at the very start of the video.
Such dark times in humanity.
Wot are the pricec
I have old American, Polish, Italian, German, Italian, French, and Roman stamps
Very interesting pre & post WW2 stamps, they are amazing to see, Thanks

Very cool to know that they changed the numbers on those stamps because of the inflation

Thanks for the info
I think the word that he was actually not remembering was "surcharge". A surcharge is an overprint that changes the denomination of a stamp.

Дякую за коментар. Так, кожна марка є міні-витвором мистецтва, що стосується гравюр та друку.
Very nice stamps. I've got about 60% of them. Would love to get hold of the rest

I collect stamps since 1972 (age 8). I have some german stamps, but not all of them. Great collection.
I missed your comment... are you referring to the inflation stamps or is that in general?
Very very rare stamps of Germany l have never seen this kind of video before ,thanks for presentation.

Beautiful stamps
It's called passing the Buck Rogers over and out passing the book passing the Buck meaning credits

They were expensive when I acquired them 30 years ago. I think it’s combo of relative scarcity and last stamps of the Nazi regime
The APS monthly about 7 months ago had those last semipostals at a very reasonable price. You should check that out on your own time.
I managed to get those two stamps on ebay for $9 a piece, so I am very happy with that price.
Great video.
Great collection.
Thanks for sharing.
Couple questions.
What reference book do you use for chronology and identification?
What display album is that you are displaying your collection?
charliekerper - Scott’s and I have no idea on the album, I got that over 30 years ago
Congratulations, you have a wonderful collection of stamps!!
Thanks. I acquired a lot of these stamps in the late 70s & 80s when they were still relatively cheap
о я вас и тут нашел))
@@youtubemydayНу так я трохи розмовляю англійською і німецькою мовами. Тому і іноземні канали про марки дивлюся :)
Yes I have those as well the German ones with overprint of inflation marked. You are aware Bradford is known as Little Germany
Does it matter how they are stored?
Overlapping them?
One on top of another?
Could it change them over the decades?
Stephan Hawthorne - it’s been experience that it doesn’t hurt anything. But I do live in a very dry place, so that may be a factor in that.

Not really sure. I got most of my collection shown here between the 70s & early 90s before one had to have such concerns.
I have a stamp collection with a section just like this are they valuable if any one knows
True what you said . great collection pro album
Helvetia is Switzerland in first postcard.
Yes, apparently some Germans would vacation there? Did I say Sweden by mistake?
Very nice stamp 👍👍👍

Nice! What book is this?
It’s my stamp collection. Actual stamps.
@@VegasCyclingFreak yes very impressive. I meant the book itself what brand book is it
@@Nck_134 Oh sorry. I don’t know. I’ve had it since the late 80s.
Hi friend I have sam stamps. I want to sell how can I ?
Pronbably ebay. They don't seem to be worth much these days, however.
Especially with the internet and Google and many other artificial intelligence fast processing algorithms it's all about location location

I love German stamps.
If you can put aside all of the ideology and bad stuff associated with that time period, yes I think they are very interesting.
Nice 👍👍👍
1923 that's great first world letter Pass the Book or Bulk Credit
I have a stamp that you didnt have..its an SS death mask stamp
Are you referring to the Reinhard Heydrich stamp? Yeah I need to get that one some day. They are a bit expensive.
