you have no idea how far people can go for revenge. people can take "an eye for an eye" to heart due to anger, hate, and grief. its horrible, its unjust, but its human. and when people like this cartel gut pushes someone like her so far, they will want nothing but revenge to even the score theres nothing that can scare them off. and the crime lord learned that the hard way today
Depending on how much the department intend to mitigate the punishment, this lady’s career is more or less done. She will either be forced out or stuck with a dead end job without a chance to recover for the remaining of her career. My unit had one guy left his gun on top of his vehicle and drove off. A passer by found it and thankfully returned it to us. Regardless his career was more or less done.
She did it to lure the guy out, not for money. She didn't really want to hurt the kid, but that won't matter in the eyes of the law. She's facing kidnapping charge, as well as either a murder or attempted murder charge (depending on if the guy she shot survived) at a bare minimum. She wanted to kill the man who killed her sister, so taking the boy hostage and the apparent ransom was simply bait to lure her target straight to her, and she didn't care if she would ultimately die in the act as long as she got her revenge.
