I wonder if they are going to end up kicking her off of SWAT. Every week someone has to talk to her about her lone wolf, superhero antics.
Well it's not uncommon for any first responders that are near by to show up so say there's a scenario like this happen near a swat training facility they would be first to respond

Luca and Street took charge as the two had the SWAT recruits with them as they check for survivors but also to wait until fire crews to knockout the flames from the oil well until the fire captain told them of part of a bomb was discovered

She's got the skills, but at this point, she was a loose cannon similar to S1 Street. I like that the writers had Street turn into a mentor for her to grow her into a good SWAT Operator, the way 20 David squad mentored him. That's how you pay people who mentored you back!!
I wonder if Zoe is going to be a new regular with 20-Squad when Season 6 debuts next year, and if it'll be Street giving her the kind of encouragement Chris gave him back in Season 2? I will absolutely miss Lina Esco/Chris Alonso, though.
Anna Enger Ritch’s character (Officer III Zoe Powell) has just been upgraded to regular cast member for the upcoming final season, which premieres this Friday night.
The minute Luca and Street get to where the oil well exploded, Luca tells Fowler to get her trauma kit and she gets a triage area set up as Jim Street calls for fire and EMS to respond. "26-David at 6th and Belden, there's been an accident oil well exploded, need emergency response!" Jim Street says this through the radio to LAPD dispatch to get the Los Angeles City Fire department out there to knock the flames from the oil well that exploded down but also the EMTs to get the injured civilians out of there and to the hospital too
The show showed the initial response right-set up a medical point, control perimeter, initial assessment and request for support, and evacuate civilians. Then Powell goes off the book and solo. At this point, she reminds me of Street in Season 1. I'm glad they had Street mentor her and help her grow from her issues.
I mean she’s sworn to serve and protect and if she waited for help there’s a chance that women dies she made a judgment call. Now her attitude after was the really bad part imo. When street and Luca told her to wait for orders and back up she should have apologized and kept a pushing instead of making the comment “thanks for the assist”
Street afterward: "If I was that bad, I seriously owe Hondo and Deac thanks for not killing me for my stupidity."

You can't help but admire Powell for going above and beyond,...even against the odds.

Well I don’t think they liked his lone Wolf stunts, Hondo chewed into him time and time again but his solo undercover work is what they appreciated.
