@@ktang001lip trills, you move back and forth from the note you are playing to the note one partial higher. You can only do it in the high register and it's difficult but good to learn if you play trombone.
ItsZachHere it's the most versatile of the trombones. Sounds awesome in low register and still sounds very similar to a tenor in the higher register (but a little harder to hit the highest notes, at least for me when I had access to one in school)
The only trombone ensemble version of S&SF I've seen on you tube where the trombone countermelody was actually played! Makes me proud to be a trombonist!! Hooyah!
Amazing video! My trombone teacher showed me the original video of bones apart playing this and I was in absolute awe of them. So happy to see it remade :)
I have been binge-watching all the videos lately. I started playing the 'bone back in '67 and did pretty well. But I never sounded like this! I have a couple of 'bones but it's been a couple of years since I picked one up. (A little scared of that noise will come out) You are an inspiration, all of you! The range and flexibility is just amazing. Thank you from an old t'bone player
The original for this was suggested to me a few weeks ago by youtube then you cover this. Crazy! I remember how blown away I was watching them and it's just as impressive with you Christopher!
Wow, that was really impressive. I didn't think it would even be possible to get the piccolo solo right on a trombone, but that was really something else.
I have a feeling Chris has an album out. Have no idea what it could be called though. Real talk though, this album is one of the most innovative and awesome listens that has made it's way into my ear holes. The line you have featured here is some hot mix between Trombone Shorty, Earth Wind and Fire, and Fred Wesley.
Ryan Carroll Not necessarily. I can single tongue it pretty easily. I don’t know how to double tongue so I’ve forced myself to learn how to single tongue like a double tongue.
the people who disliked this video are piccolo players who are salty because Mr. Bill can play the solo better than they can, using a trombone
Alexander Shu
No they just missed the like button
The ideal weight of a piccolo player is 28 ounces not counting the urn
@@putzgadol lmao so true
They are not americans
How are you not more famous? Your range is definitely not normal, I'd kill to play like that. I love it!!😊
+Britni Rose Well tell your friends! :p
Christopher Bill trust me I have! I'm addicted
Christopher Bill Try and find Joe Alessi for a video.
Your tone on bass is so good that it sounds synthesized.
Gentry Walker wait a minute...
I wish I could trill that well. 30+ years playing trombone, and I never had that kind of flexibility. Outstanding and shared to Facebook.
The piccolo countermelody on trombone was incredble!!
I like the part when the trombone played
Lol good joke
Me when the trombone did the piccolo solo: *FAINTS*
Terrarian Doge I think he should have used a piccolo trombone
Random Guy omg yes
Problem is the piccolo can’t reach 7 position, would be cool though.
@@mchenrymaney262 Wouldn’t need 7th position for the solo tho
I know! I don’t know how Carol does that.
Slow 80's clap for that lip trill! Wow.
How does one do a trill on a trombone?!
@@ktang001lip trills, you move back and forth from the note you are playing to the note one partial higher. You can only do it in the high register and it's difficult but good to learn if you play trombone.
Hearing you play bass trombone is making me want to get one. Sounds so glorious!
They are worth every penny!
bass trombone best trombone
trust me once you get one you wont want to play tenor
ItsZachHere it's the most versatile of the trombones. Sounds awesome in low register and still sounds very similar to a tenor in the higher register (but a little harder to hit the highest notes, at least for me when I had access to one in school)
Adam Nelson Also, the overall tone is slightly more rounded than a tenor
Nothing says patriotic like a trombone.
Nate I'm a trombone player and all, but really the trumpet is more iconic in early American history
And I'm a (former) trumpet player, but really I'd think it'd be the sousaphone.
Walker Rollins and as a tuba/sousaphone player, I'd say that the trumpet is more of an icon
I think it is the *looks up European instruments* guslsa
Nate What about a bald eagle but its wings are made out of ar-15s
That super high Bb at the end!
Nintendoman851 Same range as a trumpet’s top C - means he’s getting a double high C or double octave Bb if you’re being proper!
It’s not too hard if you practice a little every day and work your way up to it.
That, like everything else, was amazing, I loved the patriotic songs around the 4th of July in the past, and I'm glad this year is no different 🇺🇸
The only trombone ensemble version of S&SF I've seen on you tube where the trombone countermelody was actually played! Makes me proud to be a trombonist!! Hooyah!
That was incredible! I've been learning the trombone for just over 6 months, I hope to be good one day!
You will 😉
Nice job! Gotta represent your country proud! Today is a great day for us Canadians to celebrate our country!
Avid Christopher Bill fan, and how did I miss this one? Glad for the recent callback on his channel to this video. Completely amazing!
LITERALLY THE TWO PEOPLE WHO MADE ME WANT TO PURSUE TROMBONE AND LATER MY MAJOR ARE PLAYING IN THE SAME VIDEO I AM BLESSED

Okay, I have never heard this Sousa march played only by trombones. Color me impressed. Well done you two. 🙂
literally one of my favorite songs
Truly amazing.
Holy crap. That was phenomenal! Wow.
What a great song to wake up to on the weekend before the 4th.
That was awesome! Nice work!
Fantastic
Oh my gosh, I love your tone so much. Very nice job
Absolutely brilliant!!!
Gosh!! Just bloody brilliant! Thanks so much!!
Wow, that was really impressive. I didn't think it would even be possible to get the piccolo solo right on a trombone, but that was really something else.
I have played trombone since 1996, and I have never met a real, live female trombone player! So awesome!!
There are very few female trombonists.
Yeah the trombone is still sadly a male-dominated instrument
AWESOME!!!!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Most awesome trombone piece I have heard in years. John Phillip Sousa would have loved you!
I've been waiting for this for 3 years... *tears rolls down cheeks*
Just to reiterate what everybody else is saying: those trills are INSANE!!! Incredible work! :D
both of players are gorgeous!
Perfect loved it keep up the good work
Chris I loved meeting you and loved seeing you in the lot with the cross men. I'm Corbin btw. Huge fan and I'm so happy to have seen and met you.
This is Very well Done!!!!
Man, I’ve been watching you for four years
Carol, I love your new hair color! It makes you look happier. "Daddy" approves !
Great videos and amazing playing as always, Christopher. You never cease to amaze me.

Whoa nice job on the high notes!
Magnificent!
How many time can I watch this video and still love it like the first time I watched it ???
Sehr schön!
So crisp
I play trombone and I’ve been wanting to play this

Must've been surreal for you to play this with her. You've come a long way from the fireflies video!
Marez I wanna see him redo his old vids and see how it sounds like now
Listen to this with headphones, the stereo is awesome !!
Sounds good on Trombone
Like, excellent, dudes!

Cool shit man
Bass trombone makes its presence known.....thank God.
JUST TERRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The camera looks nice!
Doing part of this song for our 4th of July parade
OMG!!!!!!
Marching? I like the rhythm!
how to tonguing semiquaver at a fast speed? it's very difficult.....
double tongue?
Ryan Carroll Not necessarily. I can single tongue it pretty easily. I don’t know how to double tongue so I’ve forced myself to learn how to single tongue like a double tongue.
@@braedenalberstein5128 same lol
one of my fav songs to play, im not very good at it
I was literally watch Carol Jarvis's video of this yesterday lol
I love the matching outfits? Where did you get 4 of those from?
The Natundi he’s only got one 😞
I was wondering how you'd pull that piccolos part off but great job.
How do you tongue so fast at 1:41?
Since you're doing Patriotic Songs, CAn you do a Trombone quartet for Liberty bell and National Emblem!! :D
Carol, with all 4 parts of Bones Apart.
Omg she's a monster
This was awesome, but when did you record this? Did you just kind of disappear for a few hours mid festival?
+Walter Stedman Ha! We recorded this back in NY weeks ago... However I did record a bunch of stuff today by doing exactly that :p
I'm still trying to learn lip trills and work on my range
Did Carol play the piccolo solo with Bones Apart when they originally performed this? I always wondered if that was her.
Happy Fourth of July to trombone fans everywhere!
I get up at 5:30 for this:
Me: hey guys I'm early to practice
Them: wtf is an oboe
Please do Raiders March from Indiana Jones
you live in the upstate new York area right? id love to take a lesson with you one day if thats a possibility
MURICA
The panning not matching the video kept throwing me off. But really awesome arrangement and playing!
