Happy Easter!
Music by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Arranged/performed by Christopher Bill.
----
So! I performed out in Oklahoma this week. It was a pretty big blasty blast. I did five grade school classes throughout the day and then a concert in the evening. It was actually really fun and I nice short trip. Now I'm back in upstate New York where I grew up celebrating Easter with my family. Tuesday, I'm off to Moscow, Russia to perform for the Conde Nast technology convention. Things are crazy!!
As for this arrangement, it was A LOT of work, but I did this a few weeks ago, so I've sort of forgotten how much work it really was. Next week I'll do a tutorial video about the coolest parts of this since it was such a giant arrangement and kind of hard to grasp. Anyway, off to celebrate with family and eat some foods. I don't know how much I'll be able to log on from Russia next week, but either way I'll be back next weekend and I'll give you all an update about how it was!
Dude, I've listened to every video you've ever put on youtube, and this is by far your greatest masterpiece. It's a crime against humanity that it has so few views. Keep up the great work. My daughter is a young trombone player, and I want her listening to a steady diet of YOU
Tell her to listen to joe Alessi.
Yeah Baby!
The smoothness of it all.
I love the way you capture the feeling of all of it and relay it back to us!
Thanks Man!
Amazing as usual, Chris. Thanks for a wonderful Easter present. (It's better than a chocolate rabbit, and you can imagine how much I love chocolate rabbits.)
Probably my favorite Lloyd Webber Musical! Great job on the arrangement.
I don't know which is more impressive, your skills on the trombone, or your arrangements. Fantastic.
I get to play this every Saturday love this tune Christopher Bill
Billy Woad The only problem in my band is I get told to play it abit slower lol well a certain bit but its should go faster the way you play it Christopher Bill
Thanks, Christopher, for the gift of your wonderful music.
That was quite amazing. Keep doing what you do Chris!
amazing tune Christopher Bill
Wow, I'm very impressed with this entire arrangement, especially Heaven On Their Mind at the beginning. Very well done!
Most impressive video yet! The arrangement is amazing and the playing awesome as ever, 4:40 is just ridiculous.
WOW! Incredible arrangement and performance. I grew up loving this musical and this was an awesome medley that captured the nuance of the show! Thanks
Fantastic! Know all the music by heart.I spent hours on the piano with this music as a tween in the early 70;s! Yes, I'm old! Thanks for a moving rendition!
Yo Chris I just saw you in whistler BC, I was in the audience when you were performing. (I was the kid in the back that was wearing a teddy bear hat and it was awesome). Just wanted to say you made a subscriber out of me and my four other friends in the audience. Thanks
- Travis McKim
Totally impressed that you played all four parts. I'm amazed that you had enough air and control to keep that bass line steady; there seemed to be long stretches with not a lot of time to get a good breath. Anyway, great job, loved it!
Thanks Chris! This was great. One of my all time favorites. I loved the "light from above" look too!
thanks for the delight Christopher... love it
Like POTO, JC Superstar is so not the easiest music to play, but you have nailed it!!
Great job, Chris. Always been a favorite and you do it well. Caught a local production this Spring. Then I ran into Arena Tour filmed version from 2012 which, incidentally, was supposed to open here in New Orleans that year but got cancelled due to poor ticket sales I guess. Check that out if you haven't already. Then this link to you. It's been a great JCS year for me. Nice work! (Just heard "from your childhood" statement and couldn't help but chuckle because I was introduced JCS in high school by a pastor teaching religon class circa 1971! But it is an "ageless" masterpiece!)
You amaze me more and more with each video!! One of my favorite musicals of all time and certainly my favorite rock opera and my favorite Andrew Lloyd-Weber show. Excellent arrangement!!!!! :D
Again Christopher amazing, but even better, we're playing this in our regional youth concert band
BOOOM! this high note blowed my mind!
Excellent and timely - thanks for your hard work with this.
Wonderful job, Christopher! (Like always!) loved it!
I love the music you play! I listen everyday! Thanks for making these videos!
You really hit that high note on "I only want to say, if there is a way..."
That high note though!
this was really well done! I love it.
My favourite bits were Everything's Alright, King Herod's song and Annas' bit in Judas' death
My new favourite video in the internet
Brilliant! My favorite of all time. Your arrangement and performance were wonderful. I would love to hear your take on Al Jarreau tunes like Boogie Down. Thank you.
Really really nice medley. Amazing range !
Love it!!!
Well done. It sounds amazing.
i have to play this in my band on saturdays hehe great tune. plus get the solo :)
Brilliant!
Thanks for posting this - loved it as I do all your stuff!
FWIW - If given a choice between the original album and the soundtrack to the movie, I much prefer the latter. Carl Anderson's performance as Judas was stellar!
I wanted to listen to JCSS today for Easter! Thanks!
9:24 I thought I was listening to The Chicken xD
No? No one knows it? Okay, I'll just...I'll just go now...
(Great job btw :D)
Sleddog1719 I hadn't noticed it before, but it's totally close! Always been a favorite of mine since I played it in high school 15 years ago!
Never heard this song but you did amazing on it regardless
It's not one song. Look up medley.
Bravo!! I wish you to every success in creativity!!! =)))
Well, here we have it, the only man alive who can pull off that hairstyle and be this good at the trombone. (Smooth McGroove is in the same ranks as him.)
Wow! Impressive, you have such a good taste
Wow! Who arranged this piece? It's far more entertaining than the version I played in highschool. No doubt in part thanks to your awesome tromboning.
Comment at the end: you arranged it yourself? Hot diggity damn.
Love the Hair medley. Still say u should have a baritone in there. 😊 Nice chops btw. Love the music n vids bro. Thanks for the music. 👌😎
Brilliant
Nice job
Hello Chris im a big fan of you . I love your vdeos and this video is only WOW brilliand . You a really nice guy . I hope you make more videos bye ;-)
5:25 CRAZZYYY
Jesus Christ Superstar Medley? You look the part too.
Really enjoyed this arrangement. Ever think about taking the "trial before Pilate" melody down another octave at 7:42? I think that would sound awesome as many of the people who played Caiaphas had especially low ranges (search "Juicio ante pilatos" from the spanish version for an example).
Amazing! Loof!
Day after Easter or not this made me giddy! Thank you for sharing... have loved JCS since the late 70's early 80's... used to use it teaching Sunday School... when does the track hit iTunes?
Wow, that was so good, it must have taken a lot of work and in between gigs and classes as well? Well, I hope you had fun visiting Russia.
You are actually my new best friend
My god I love JCS!
+Christopher Bill Can you do Uncle Albert by Sir Paul McCartney on Trombone Quartet maybe with singing when you get the chance
A trumpet, flute, saxophone, oboe, and a drumset player disliked this.
KAME HAMEHA no, I think it would be atheists
Norse Titan ass. I'm pretty sure atheists enjoy this song. I sure do.
Zarkosis Smash
Okay, but I have been around my fair share of them and from my personal experience, that is what they would do, just click on the video and dislike it and exit
Well the lyrics aren't like, "fuck everybody that's not christian". So us atheists wouldn't care. Lol
I'm an Agnostic Atheist and a sax player and this shit sounds cool. No dislike here.
If your ever in Alabama and dont have anything to do, just come over to vestavia hills high school
Have you ever thought on playing carnival of Venice!?
How did you manage to hold what I believe was a high G so long at 5:23? :o And are the chords in that little section just Gm, F, Eb, and D?
Awsome tune In my band i get told to slow down the part at 6.06 which is to slow since it should be the same speed you play it
Nice job!! Lol, 5:30 cue hair flip after epic long note. Are the two trombones in the top left and botton left the same? One looks smaller than the other.
He might have the same trombones, but is just really up close.
The bottom left trombone is bigger, it's his bass trombone.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COULD I GET THE SHEET MUSIC FOR THIS!!!!!!!!! ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER HEARD EVER!!!!!!!!! WILL DO LITERALLY ANYTHING FOR THE MUSIC PLEASE!!!!!!
Peter Richards read the description dude
cool
How big is the bell on that bass?
It seems like you have a new trombone every week! Any chance that's true because if it is I'm going to your house. Beautiful arrangement, I heard both JCS and your voice as a bonist which is something I have to work on musically. Any chance you could have a trombone history session? Keep up the great work, mister Bill.
Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragon Force?
Chris what happened to your Carly Rae Jensen??!!!!!
What is the song right after Everything's Alright? Is it Poor Jerusalem?
Love, love this arrangement + your whole channel!
What elem school did you visit?
I would love to have you come to my school district (especially during sign up season!!)
BTW what software do you use to create the split screen vids?
Which variant of the 42 do you most commonly use for your videos, and which has the most mellow tone? I'm a HS junior and I borrow a 42A from the school, but I don't achieve the brassy sound that I'd prefer from that of my beginner King model. Or, is it based more upon mouthpiece selection? If so, which would you recommend?
Sorry for so many questions, but I have always loved your tone in all your videos and hope I could get some advice from one of my favorite trombonist TH-camrs (you and Maniacal 4 provide my favorite tone quality c: )
Can someone tell me what song it is that starts at 2:22? Thanks
+Connor von Rosen Everything's Alright
Love it.
How you do that? I mean... Do you prepare the arrangement on piano first? Do you record base line first? Or melody or how the hell you do that? :-)
I know you are very fond of your 'peashooter' King small bore, but I think in some pieces the Bach(?) large bore would sound better.
could you play uptown funk as the next song
with best wishes from upper platonia
Already done -- th-cam.com/video/LR0iWDQs3nc/w-d-xo.html
Do you have a musescore account that you post stuff on? If so what is it?
You should play secret agent man !

Ab Abu I got it when I was still in high school. Just a standard music store, they've all got 'em!
Christopher Bill cool now I just gotta find money somewhere😂
Ab Abu Go to your local bank. They've all got money! :)
Dabaka93 *rob your local bank. It's the only way you can afford it

I think you can play that horn.
I See the Light from tangled
Only 939 likes?! WTF, EARTH?!
Does this go into 7/8?
Landon Bass yes
Wait where did Carly Rae Jepsen go? I could've sworn I watched this AND Carly Rae Jepsen yesterday... Very suspicious... ;)
lolnation123 I made a mistake :O. It'll be up officially in a couple weeks!
Did he just go up to a quad c?
Because if it was, he's going need Jesus to recover from the stroke and/or hemorrhaging.
I assume you mean the high note at 5:23? That was a G5 I believe, which is two octaves above to G in the staff.
You're starting to look like Adam from YMS
Book of Mormon in the future?
Under 301 club!
Hamilton? Maybe?
did you delete your I rlyrlyrlyrlyrlyrly like u? o.0
Sir Bentmouth Just saving it for release in a couple weeks!

AAAAnd of course someone has to dislike it.
