I’ve actually made a shuttle coaster by setting the laps on 3, (using the torque model) and using the multidirectional launch, you can make it go through the sation backwards, then forwards again. So I was able to make a shuttle coaster that had a spike right behind the station, and one after a few elements, and it surprisingly worked except or goes into the station super fast.
Interesting glitch but my OCD brain would never use this in one of my parks just because how the train reverses. Too unrealistic for me. But thanks for sharing!
Hopefully we see switch tracks with the ability to finally have multi pass / swing launches. I would like to see stuff like partnerships with real parks again such as Cedar Fair with Copperhead Strike and Steel Vengeance. But I don't really see TT2 being one of these given the problems the coaster has atm and that the "opening" of the coaster was before PC2 is even out.
I want to make a roller coaster that goes and then it goes under ground and stops in it’s tracks like it completely stops and then it starts to go kind of like Mount Everest at Disney it goes up and suddenly stops then it goes back and stops again then goes forward but cool video
Hypothetically Couldn’t you put the track that makes the switch on the 1st launch, if you put the track below the launch you won’t need to do the wierd turning thing on the spike
I had fun with Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 making all sorts of rides that flew off into space (well into the air) and then separated into separate cars as they exploded. I had so much fun making the funniest ride that killed all the passengers. What if they had a ride called "the last ride" and gave people 10k to run that had a terminal illness and it would include the cards flying off the track? It'd be SO funny! The people would reimbursed nicely, they already were going to die, and they could dose them up with something like pure opium so they don't feel anything as they crash and burn. Plus I'm sure people would pay a decent amount to witness it in person! I know I'd drop $500-1000 to see a roller coaster built to kill people that agreed to it because they were already dying. Sounds fun :)
Good job very well done sir.... But I hate it. The illusion is shattered for me with the turn around. Honestly I feel it might have been easier to program the game in a way that aloud this function. (For each tick cart is on track add to it's current velocity by the desired amount) and since the cars are physics based on the tracks it should be easier then checking the direction first and subtracting if it's going the wrong way
That is a good question.. This worked for the Planet Zoo beta but was patched on release... So there's a good chance it might be patched for console. Tbh, I really don't know, only way to know for sure is to try it out once it's out
@@RoseGold1224 Make sure you toggle the collision settings for track segments. Without this toggled, track segments cannot clip through one another. You can find this under Settings > Game > Track Collision
Nope.. this is a glitch with the track builder. For some reason, the builder does not perform a check to see if the connecting track is pointing in the same direction before making the connection. This allows you to basically make a 180 degree turn on the spot.
I wish frontier would add a fully-featured transfer track options with realistic animation.

It always just stops on the reverse launch the second time for me. How do you make it just go through without stopping?

Yeah it's a bit unfortunate that we can't really build a true functional one any other way.
You can still use the Impulsion coaster if you don't mind having your triple launch coaster as an inverted coaster
Thanks for the video! It helped me understand Planet Coaster a bit more and how you can still make great coasters with it.
I usually just keep it on one track but have the tower after the station, the rest kind of normal then goes back on itself. Only works with torque tho

My console edition doesn’t work is that because you can’t do it on a console edition
So you can’t make it like an actual swing launch that doesn’t make the trains go through each other
I wonder if there is a way to use this glitch but have the trains go backwards in the reverse track
