Nissan Qashqai 2023 review: Is this new small SUV better than Toyota Corolla Cross and Mazda CX-30?

- The Nissan Qashqai small SUV has always rivalled other models like the Mitsubishi ASX, Honda HR-V and the Hyundai Kona, but the 2023 Qashqai looks set to change that.
The new-generation version is finally here after some delays, in petrol guise initially, until the arrival of the hybrid version Nissan calls 'ePower' in 2023.
Nissan has made a lot of changes, with a big uptick in in-car technology, including the multimedia system, while the safety offering has improved significantly.
But it all comes at a cost, with all grades of the Qashqai going up in price by quite a bit compared to the old model.
It does come with a new turbocharged petrol engine, replacing the old naturally aspirated unit, and it’s more fuel efficient. But is all this worth the extra spend? Or is this the best Qashqai yet?
Tim Nicholson attended the Australian media launch to find out.

Really love the exterior design on this new Qashqai model…
When's the PodCarst returning for 2023?
Is it an e-CVT? Or just same troublesome CVT?
Have Nissan addressed the CVT or is it still likely to fail post warranty resulting in a 7k repair bill
Wait. What? Damn, I was actually thinking of buying one of these.
Mitsubishi 10. Warranty
Seriously uppped it game, seriousy upped its price
I like that your tall cuz I am tall😅😂😂😂 keep reviewing 💪🏽
Can you please review the 2023 Toyota Corolla?
There trying but there's a 2 year wait unless you want to deal with scalpers
@@robertceroli3512 don’t worry, I already watched a car review on it
Chasing cars had a chance to review one
Qashqai for me please!
I was hoping for a comprehensive comparison between Nissan , Mazda and Toyota. As it was promised 😞
I thought the point of a crossover was small, made to look big? My first gen Qashqai fits in a very small 1960's garage, but this one wouldn't. So I wouldn't buy it.
This car is very expensive to service and to buy too. The gutless engine and CVT transmission are basically fails too. I will wait for the hybrid model but this car in pure petrol engine with CVT and FWD is not even close to be shortlisted. The Renault engine in this car is a turn-off, the European cars are notoriously unreliable and expensive to repair.
just the type of fuel made the choice to ignore this vehicule pretty easy.
Why?
Hardly small not in the UK anyway!!
Why is servicing so expensive man! Deal breaker
Overwhelmed with choice EV v ICE???? 2023 v dinasaur !!! Simple EV less parts, cheaper running costs, charge at home blah blah blah......uptick no emission......der!!!
Not so "der" if you live in a multi storey apartment or only have on street parking
@@andrewlucan9017 A der anyway ya look at it sorry mate - EV price parity here now wow!!!! And I aint a rich dude...keep well.
CVT 💩
