- We found out Image's daughter and her newborn foal will be at a local auction! We do not want to risk having them end up in the wrong hands, so we go to the sale to see if we can get them.

On another note:
I really, really appreciate the way you emphasise that you are no charity but a horse breeder/trainer and that, even though you desperately wanted to buy that mare, you could only do so because you will be able to sell her, later on, and also the filly, as ressources are limited.
But also insisted that you will see to finding her a good and hopefully permanent home.
I think this shows beautifully that one does not need to be a hero or dedicating their lives to charity to make the world a better place, but that one man (or any person, of course) going about their everyday business with integrity can make all the difference. For Jewel and her foal, you sure did on that day.

When you were cleaning the filly, the mare was so comfortable with you. That says a lot about you!!

Filly was calmer than I expected the moms calming down and the calm energy from the humans contributed

I have to applaud the gentleman who sent her to auction. He did it BEFORE she lost a bunch of weight and with no major problems where she would need to be given the last act of kindness! As for y'all, you guys did sooooo right by her and the baby! I'm very pleased y'all got them because with them being there, we all know they didn't go to flippers or kill buyers! I was so hoping you’d do just what you did when you took them out of there immediately and didn’t stick around. Homestead is a class act. Ty for that.

I literally (and unexpectedly) burst into tears when the auctioneer said "Sold!" ... I'm so happy that these two will be headed to a better life and I'm so happy that you all are the ones who will be caring for them. It’s nice to see breeders years later making sure that horse goes to the right home. Jewel is still trusting & stayed calm through all the stress. If Magnolia has her personality, you will have an easy filly to raise & train.

Seeing that baby resting so soundly was the best part of the whole video. I know she felt better after getting her little hind end cleaned off and doctored. I bet the mama is relieved to know she's safe now. So glad you were able to get both of them.

The foals going to have running shit until the baby starts eating ruffage when she starts getting older
That's not true. Foal diarrhea (scours) is often from a bacterial infection and can be cleared up with antibiotics. Sometimes it is from the mare's foal heat and will clear up when the mare's hormones settle down.

This mare has such big soft eyes and she is quite relaxed , especially so after having been through an auction setting and only with you for one night. @24:00 Momma is enjoying her meal but her ears are 100% tuned and turned into her baby. @25:35 momma’s eyes are so intent and gentle. She seems so intelligent. I cannot imagine how mentally (and physically) exhausted those two are. Can you imagine being a brand new mom being sent to a place you don’t know, tied to a fence where you’re unable to look after your baby 😞 , How stressed the baby has been and is from the entire ordeal. I just cannot imagine. It’s not surprising that sweet baby is worn slap out. It speaks volumes that the momma and foal felt safe enough to rest and stop being on level 10 alert. @28:55 For the foal to fall asleep that contentedly. And I was so impressed that the foal got quickly cleaned and soothed with the rash ointment. I think the relief from the smell and itching helped relax the foal and her mama! I'm sure they will thrive now !!
@@franceshorton918 yes! I think so too. Having 3 children I know how much pain my babies were in when they had diaper rashes. This poor foal was in pain and I’m sure her tummy hurt from the diarrhea. So thankful she was immediately helped and comforted 🥰

Ok being they put them at risk w/ the re sale buyers at any auction was playing Russian roulette with them both so have no compassion at all towards the previous owners who gave no compassion towards them , the mare/ foal being subject to this possible recycling fate by their thoughtless & uncaring decisions. Bad enough for the mare yet with a foal???? Very fortunate situation it turned out to be for them both yet the bidding was up against a family & a re seller? Would have that family been out bidded with the re seller? Nope showed no care for their future welfare & if that family was a for real sure guarantee that meant they'd have a real good chance with them. Well being a family means nothing so by fate they both ended up here we all knowing that WHATEVER care is NEEDED they'll get in a stress 🆓 environment. And the foal KNEW so let me lay my tired 😴 foal self down for some DEEPLY snoring zzzzzz's on this clean fresh hay floor bedding. Nighty nights & sweet dreams my way. And Mom mare was ok with it too. She over there getting her deep sleep 💤😴 on as well. Need it for the milk production. And she'll be fed food to eat to support that in turn supports the foal. And her health too. She got that de wormer & electo something. 🐴🐎And the foal sleep 💤 s will do him good.. In due time they'll both know their safe & sound. Wonderful, super for them.

Thank you, JR for standing up for the seller(s). As a former small horse breeder, I so looked forward to the babies after close to a year long wait for them. To see one at auction after realizing that the owners had planned on this baby, she's able to be registered, and to have the heartbreak of having to sell her is unimaginable to me. And now they both have a good home!
For being 2 weeks old, that baby is huge! Also, you’re not wrong; she’s got Image’s face. I’m so glad you were able to rescue them both, and give them a chance. Whatever happened to their original owners, I hope they find peace and comfort knowing that their girls are somewhere they can eat, get healthy, grow, and be pampered like they deserve.

Listening to the foal snoring was the sweetest sound. Obviously they feel safe and the foal having had her bum cleaned up was feeling a bit more comfortable and the exhaustion finally won out.

WELL DONE, FAM!!! I just heard myself take a breath now. I might even take another breath after that one. So, I guess that means that I can start regular breathing again. I swear I can FEEL EVERY STRESSFUL SECOND THESE TWO BEAUTIFUL, INNOCENT SOUL'S HAVE BEEN THROUGH!! But just look at the relief on mama mare's face now! Standing there, relaxed, breathing, too! While her baby is peacefully sleeping a deep relaxing, comfortable, safe sleep! I can literally see the stress melting away from mama's entire being! She knows that she & her beautiful daughter are finally safe now! Medical needs are being taken care of & they both can finally relax & breathe knowing that they are safe! Just look at mama's face! Hey guys, I already commented on this on a similar video but I can't say how happy I am that you rescued Image's daughter and foal, this was one of your better videos. See the terrified foal and mom in that crazy loud atmosphere was difficult to bear. It made my day when you won the bidding and got them out of there and to your home where they can be properly raised and taken care of. Seeing the foal totally conked out and finally getting some much needed rest was heartwarming. The poor baby's been through so much lately she is finally getting the best sleep and rest at the best farm. Image's mare is a beautiful girl, I heard JR saying he's probably going to sell her but I really hope you keep her. Thank you! ❤❤🐴

@@DeeE101 I did it only because they seem to really care about horses. Then to feel enough of a connection to a horse like Image, to want to be sure his offspring is safe and properly care for and loved just said help. So I did what I could.

I absolutely love how you automatically think of the well-being of the mare and the foal. I agree with you 100% on just loading her up getting them on so that they can relax and unwind they've had a very stressful time. But I also understand not wanting to mention what happened sometimes you know Kaka happen and when it does you kind of just got to go with it and do what is best for you and your family at that moment you can tell that they love the mare because she is very well-maintained and very calm that says something great for where she came from. And I bet you that baby slept so well because her bittom was clean and that made her feel better.

I just rewatched this in the light of day, and want to tell you all how incredible you and your family are! All the things you did here show why….Leaving the auction right away to get that mommy and her baby out of that stressful situation; Becca and you so carefully and ignoring the mess, cleaning up that sweet baby; Emeri constantly soothing the mare in her gentle voice while filming; Isaac having the stall ready with fresh bedding when you arrived. Working together with all your thoughts and energies focused with selfless love on these two horses in need. I can only imagine how desperate the former owner must have been, and how much they have agonized over the situation. Please get word to them so they can see this video. 💗
