Well, it's a few weeks late, but here's the Derrick Thomas video I promised back in September. Derrick Thomas was one of many "next Lawrence Taylor"s that came out in the 1980s and 90s, but unlike many imposters, DT lived up to the hype. After a dominant junior campaign, Thomas was straight-up unblockable in his senior season. He posted 27 sacks and an untold number of pressures on the year, and should've come in second for the Heisman vote. Most of the footage came from the BamaRewind channel. Music was stuff I found on TH-cam. As always, I hope you enjoy the video, and please let me know who you'd like to see next. PS: Next video will be basketball-related.
🙏 Same here. Lifelong KC fan, DT58 wrecked and passed the year that I got my learner's permit. I still think about that when I get into a car. Click. His death made a real impact on me bc he was such a larger than life figure in my young life... Couldn't believe a basic ass seatbelt wouldve saved Superman's life.😢
Look, DT was/is the best college linebacker ever. He was so fast. He had 27 sacks in 1 season. 27, that's right, 27. I think half of those was on poor Mr. Saco from Penn State, lol. DT, with his speed would be a beast in any era. I am from Bama, a Bama grad, and I have watched a LOT of Bama games as well as college football in general, never been anyone like him. RIP DT.
🙏DT58 FOREVER 🐐 You better damn well BELIEVE that I was wearing my red *#58* official home top when KC won *SB58* this year! DT58 shining down as 1000 points of light, watching Jones and company win with physicality andake snow angels in red & gold confetti😢 *Favorite. Chief. Ever. And by FAR.* 2nd place is about a mile back and like a 7-10-way tie.
Agree Offense always had to plan for where LT lined up yet in more games than DT he never had as many sacks in NFL or even in College . If he had played same # of years as Reggie in NFL the record for SACKS would be his alone. To say dominate none did so as much as DT whether in College or NFL.
I saw him play twice in Ttown and once in Knoxville. Nobody that big, that strong should be that fast. Probably the only players who could outrun him on that defense was free and a cornerback. It was just insane how fast he was.
My family has had season tickets to all Bama games since 1974. I grew up watching the sack master taking over games. Truly the best to ever play LB. Any team that played Bama had to account for DT and where he lined up at. LOL
Huge Bama fan here and love this video. DT is the greatest Alabama defensive player of all time. A guy who, in his prime, could play in today's game and still be dominant. BTW, what were you thinking with the high pitched piano playing in the background? Felt like I was in a 1940s piano bar.
Thanks so much for this superb highlight reel of DT, PonkyCandy. Keep up the great work. Are you starting to work on the Warren Moon video you told me a while ago?
Hey Pocky, what’s the first instrumental. Thinking of using it while I draw and do homework. Would be greatly appreciated! Thanks as always for this quality content!
Cant say i agree. Will hasnt shown hes as great as Derrick but he does deserve a comparison. He has to finish super strong to leave with that comparison though.

And as always, share this on social media if you feel so inclined.
Fully agreed that he was the best PockyCandy
Wait, 27 SACKS? That's insane.
Should've won it
Prob one of the best ever, period.
He is the reason I always buckle up today. One of the best players and finest human beings in the history of football. May he rest in eternal peace.

One of the best ever from Bama. Glad to hear the Chiefs still showing respect to his legacy after their SB win. RIP DT. Roll Tide!
He will never be forgotten Roll Tide!!!!
You kidding me buddy we speak of DT like he's Royalty here in KC. Any Chiefs fan over about 35 would throw hands if someone spoke I'll of DT.
@@DarthRainzDT58 was the best

I get choked up everytime I watch DT highlights. Gone too soon. RIP 🙏
Not only one of the best ever, he was a hell of a nice guy. Only the good die young
D.T needs to be talked about More ... He is my 3 All Time Most Dominate defensive player ever
[Behind L.T nd Reggie White]

I was blessed to see DT play live in 1987 … the man was so damn fast

My all-time favorite player. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ These highlights.
RIP DT and Keith McCants #86
Kid was amazing. An absolute star in college and in the pros. Wish we could have seen how things would played out. May his soul Rest In Peace.
JayeCrook29 .......Thomas’ career was winding down. He was 33 when he passed away.
@@byrongammonbyrongammon9937 still had three seasons left in him. Enough to moonwalk into the HOF. He’s in and deservedly so. Unblockable...
DT THE GOAT
Such a gifted athlete

Wow I forgot how good he really was
As a highlight creator, this sir is a masterpiece
I remember his first college game and I thought at the time, hes gonna be pretty good! Man was I right, a sack machine!!
One of the best ever.
Glad you’re back man. I hope you get around a Steve Atwater College Highlight at some point. That’d be badass
It feels like he was in the backfield the second the ball was snapped.
A great athlete that happened to play on defense. First step was a killer.
helps when you circle him before the play
SIP your greatness!!!!!!!!

Pocky the man does it again and again and again! My dude. Salute!yesterday was my birthday, thank you for my belated present! ;-)
Im still lookong for that 40 yard return for a td
D.T Gator Death Rolled that QB , at the 11:00 min mark.
Thanks so much for this superb highlight reel of DT, PonkyCandy. Keep up the great work. Are you starting to work on the Warren Moon video you told me a while ago?
I haven't started working on it yet. I have a ridiculous backlog of projects I need to finish first. But I will get to it eventually.

Roll Tide!
That mans pursuit had to be FRIGHTENING to QB's. How would you like to have lined up across from him all day???
Chiefs Fans call him Their Son but Alabama Fans get at least half the right as well.
Watching this specially when he rushes standing you can see why Von is compared to him
Derick Thomas was a outside linebacker
Kayden Wade that’s just his initials
@@keyarwatson9765 o,Ok thanks
Thomas was a beast on turf. Not so much on natural grass.
David K .....not true. From a pass-rushing perspective he was a demon on grass as well.
funny Bryant Denny was grass in those years. DT was a beast on any field he played on.
You didn’t watch him at all then. This comment is ridiculous you know....
Never compare Will Anderson to Derrick Thomas.
Stop the disrespect Will is one of the closest athletes to DT
@@Aaron-wq3jz There is no disrespect. DT is unmatched.

whats up with the weak elevator music
yah know he died right feb 8 2000
