Thanks for including Roy Upchurch. He was a hard working back that lost playing time to Mark Ingram and never complained. He had a really good game against Tennessee when beating Tennessee meant something.

I know there's very little actual game footage to use of him, but Johnny Musso should have been on the list. He should've won the Heisman trophy in 1971 over Pat Sullivan- but Bear Bryant refused to do "Heisman campaigns" for his teams. He considered individual awards insults to the other 21 guys on the field. Back then you needed Heisman campaigns to win the award because voters didn't have film of every game to look at and compare. All they had were 1 or 2 nationally televised games a year, and 10 box score stats from newspapers to use. It was up to the school to fund these campaigns and send out their own game tape to the Downtown Heisman Athletic Club for consideration. But sadly, Coach Bryant didn't believe in it. He thought his personal endorsement of a player during press conferences and interviews should be good enough for those people. Johnny Musso was the real deal back in the day. He was the best player in America in the early '70s. He was the "Italian Stallion" long before Sylvester Stallone ever stole the name for his Rocky Balbo character!

I love that this video features T.J. Yeldon early. He is one of my favorite CFB players ever. He was so exciting to watch because of how agile he was and how he could cut back and turn on a dime. And it so awesome to see Shaud Williams on here. He provided excellent leadership to the team during a tough stretch. And of course he was an amazing RB for the Tide as well.

How can you overlook Wilbur Jackson. The man still holds the yards per rush record for the Tide. He won a national championship, and a Super Bowl. Oh - and he was the first black man to play running back for Alabama.
Someone I'd like to mention: the much maligned Linnie Patrick. But when coach Bryant faced the Auburn Tigers in 1981 with the most wins in College football on the line, Linnie made the greatest two runs in Alabama history IMO.
He set a record that stands today, most total offense yardage in a single half of football. Versus Boston College. He got hurt, and Flutie rallied his team to beat us in Legion Field.
You should redo the video and add #22 Musso. I never saw a player give as much as a running back for Bama as he did and I saw him play in person at Legion Field.

Not a single season in the past, present, or future that Johnny Musso wouldn't be deserving of the respect that he had during his playing days. Oh, and he could block as well as he could run. To this day, my favorite Bama tailback. He would fall, crawl, claw, twist, and no matter how hard he was hit, his head always faced the goal line at the end of the play. If you don't know much about Musso, you owe it to yourself to dig up some old games from 69, 70, and 71.

He was used as a receiving back from there on. When he caught the pass that beat Auburn, he was 3rd string, but not because of any other reason that the head injury.

I also believe that the runs against Arkansas as a freshman and the big "stutter step run" against Ole Miss were THE 2 runs that got Trent drafted. Everyone knows how he flaked out in the NFL, but I hated it for him. He's one of those like Tebow that will go down as one of the all-time greatest college players with little to no pro career.
