Well it is a really good book and I suggest reading it but some of the reasons he gives are that in 2001 when shaq and Kobe should have gone undefeated Iverson had a terrible team and won one reason he had for putting wade at 53 was that he got a lot of calls from the refs, just remember its not my opinion

You must like black hole ballhog basketball like Kobe and A.I. Wade Averages 25 a game at between 12-15 shots per game vs Kobe and A.I. who average 30 pts shooting how many shots a game, Mid 20's? Before wade got hurt he had the best finals performance of all time. Then had a great 2nd finals and should of had four chips if LeBron didn't have the biggest choke act in history. He shoots just under 50% for his career with 6 and 5. But this should make you at least consider an argument for Wade being better than Kobe, do you know right now Wade has played 7 seasons less than Kobe and is 3 inches shorter and already has more blocked shots then Kobe by a mile! Look it up! Those first 3 titles were Shaqs doing. Wade did it with a fat shaq. He also was a great teammate. Kobe was a ball hog who shot below 40% from the field I bet 100 times at least! Wade? I would bet less than 15 times his whole career. D-Wade is great and Penny should of been on here before Oscar and West and A.I. A.I. was the most overrated team killer and only got to that one finals against The Lakers cuz that year in 2001 the Bucks wooped the Lakers in L.A and in Brew town, bad! They had the perfect team to beat the Lakers. They also beat the Kings both times that year which is why the refs in the ECF's were awful and didn't give Milwaukee a chance.
It's hard to argue with this list. That said, my generation had the privilege to see other great shooting guards in their prime. Guys like "Pistol" Pete Mavarich, Dave Bing, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Gail Goodrich, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, and so forth. It was a different game then... where players weren't allowed to palm the ball, travel, double dibble, and everyone actually bothered to play some defense.

Clyde Drexler. I was impressed when watching him on TV for the 1st time. His style of play was close to Jordan. Thanks to Chuck Dally for including him in the Dream Team I for 1992 Olympics.

T-Mac was a forward! And just because the boneheads who made this list put point guards on it doesn't justify you or anyone else following suit by putting forwards on it! Not to mention, even though I agree that putting pg's like the big O, West and Iverson on the list was stupid, it makes more sense to have them on the list than a forward because at least they played in the back court! That said, you can make more of a case for A.I. being a 2 guard then the big O or West but that's only because he never wanted to pass and was the biggest ball hog ever. Had he been more of a playmaker and willing passer to his teammates, like he was supposed to and should of done, he'd definitely be thought of as a pg! But the fact is if you're going to add T-Mac why stop there? LeBron James has played all positions, why not add him, or hell Larry Bird was arguably the best shooter ever and played some shooting guard so by that logic how can you leave possibly the best shooter ever off the list of top 10 shooting guards? Get my point? It's a slippery slope. You can make the same argument for Paul Pierce! You shouldn't though, those are front court players! Pg's have no right to be on this list but front court players have even less of a right to be on this list! It doesn't matter though, this list is bogus no matter how you slice it. The idea that if someone, somehow was in an alternate reality where they could pick any SG or pg for that matter they wanted from any era and all would be in their prime, and still pick West, Robertson and Iverson over D-Wade is absolutely crazy! First of all, there's a real argument to be made that any and all players from the 70's and earlier (with the exception of a lot of the big men cuz you can't teach size) may not even be able to make an NBA team now if you transported them from their prime to this moment! Today's game is exponentially faster, more skilled, stronger and bigger guys are able to do things skill wise that nobody from back in the day could ever dream possible. So that leaves A.I.. We won't even discuss the fact that A.I. was a cancer to his teams which absolutely effected his and his teams success, vs Wade who was such a great teammate he made huge sacrifices to play with other great players and win championships! No other superstars wanted to play with A.I.! But forget all that, let's just compare A.I. to Wade by how they played on the court! Even the one thing people will point to and say AI was better than Wade at, scoring, is absolutely wrong and misleading. Wade averages about 25/game for his career vs A.I. who I imagine is somewhere around 30. So, why is A.I. a better scorer when it took him at least 10 more shots a game on average to score 5 more points a game? All those games A.I. had 35-40 points cuz he chucked up about the same number of shots means his teams had how many offensive possessions that resulted in nothing! Not to mention, when you feed your teammates the way A.I. could of had he wanted to because the 'D' always collapsed around him, they would of started making shots and becoming involved and it becomes contagious! It would of also released pressure on A.I. which would of made him more efficient! Thus his teams would of been a lot better! That's why D-Wade had a title by his 4th year in the league and A.I. had none! EFFICIENCY is something even analysts don't understand. EFFICIENCY, or lack thereof, is the reason Carmelo Anthony is out of the game right now. Sorry, I'm passionate about this cuz it pisses me off when people think guys like A.I. and even Kobe to some extent, are greater than they are because they're black hole ballhogs who score a lot because they shoot 30 times a game which isn't even the worst part which is if they didn't shoot so much they could have a better more involved overall team. Ask yourself, 2 years after Kobe blew up the Lakers after Kobe, Shaq, Gary Payton and Karl Malone GOT SWEPT by the Pistons in the finals, how did D-Wade beat that same Pistons team, albeit improved and now in their prime and then come back from a two game deficit in the Finals to beat a way better overall Mavs team, when all Wade had around him was a team that consisted of a fat past his prime Shaq, a Gary Payton who was two years older then when Kobe's Lakers had him and lost to the Pistons and he was still a remmneant of his old self, and a ragtag team full of other misfits? How did the Heat pull that off? If Kobe is so much better than Wade that we can't even argue who's better, why did Kobe's Lakers who were a way better team than Wade's Heat, get swept by the Pistons, yet 2 years later after the Pistons were now Champs and in their prime, Wade took two of those key players from that Lakers team who were now far passed their prime along with a supporting cast that consisted of Haslem, Antoine Walker, Jason Williams and an old ass Alonzo Mourning and beat that same Pistons team and then won a title against a far superior overall Mavs team basically by himself?! So it's obvious, if you put Kobe on that Heat team instead of Wade, who couldn't beat the Pistons with a still dominant Shaq and relatively still good GP 2 years earlier, how can you argue Kobe would of led a far inferior Heat team to victory against the Pistons in the ECF let alone carried that team to victory by himself against the Mavs for a title in the Finals?

For those that don’t think that Reggie Miller belongs on this list, go check out the all time ranking of Offensive Win Shares. Reggie shows up very high in a number of all time statistics, including those that are dominated by big man. Miller’s offensive efficiency was off the charts. While he only had one 50/40/90 season, he had a number seasons of having those numbers in each category. He was a VERY rare SG that didn’t need a high volume of shots to have a big impact.

I watched Drexler in his heyday as a Portlandian. I would put him above Wade and Iverson. The guy did it all and was second only to MJ for three straight years. Also top ten in steals in-spite of averaging 25ppg. He did it on both ends of the court including being a superb assist and rebound guy for a guard. Also, the guy had the highest recorded vertical leap unless it’s been past. He is slighted because he played most of his career in Portland and that’s it and that’s all.
