I love seeing your yarn haul and was almost drooling at the yarny beauty. I'm rejoicing in your excitement sister and don't you dare feel self conscious or feel guilty and I especially love that you were gifted that yellow ochre yarn. How fantastic! A yarn haul is like a kid being in a candy store and you can't get all of the candy but you love looking at it anyway. Then you take the bag of candy and show it to your buddies. We are your buddies😊
Ruth, pay no mind to mean people.....I can't imagine anyone being mean to someone as sweet as you, with such a kind heart. And you are right, if someone doesn't want to see what you bought then skip ahead. it's easy enough. no need to be rude. I think people have forgotten how to be nice these days; how to talk and respect to another person. it's all complaining even if it is something so small as a skein of yarn. Be nice and pass it on!
Hi Ruth. I enjoy seeing your acquisitions and there’s no judgment on any purchases you make. And you always brighten my day. ❤
What everybody already said!! I certainly expect and look forward to see acquisitions on every podcast that I watch. And you, sweet Ruth, are so generous with your knitting! and generous with patronizing independent dyers and giving everybody shout outs on your podcast! It’s immediately apparent that you are someone who lives in humility and simplicity. I’m sorry if your spirit was injured because that’s just terrible. Knit on! 🧶🐑❤️ Grace to you and peace. ~Leslie
Hi! I LOVE EVERY PODCAST. So much fun to watch. Please include yarn discussion in every podcast. It show cases different types of yarn, from different countries. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am educated by your yarn discussion. I can download any pattern but with expensive shipping, I can not experience every yarn. Your descriptions are perfect. Ignore those nasty comments. Dont discuss them, as gives them an audience. Have a wonderful day
Ruth, don’t let negative people get you down. You have the right and the privilege to buy beautiful wool. Lovely purchases. You are a precious person. Keep on knitting and smiling. Your father (from your other podcast) is an amazing man.
Thank you for this bonus episode, Ruth ❤
Your Gorgeous Yarns are really gorgeous! Love that color!
I love your podcast and love seeing aquisitions! If Podcaster like you didn't share your new yarn, I would miss out on so many that I am not aware existed, both indie dyers and big store brands. Most people are adults and can just skip parts of a video they dont wanna watch! Keeping being you! ❤️❤️❤️
Good grief!!!! People are just unreal!! Ruth, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your podcast!!! You are a dear person and so very talented….I really love what you share with us! Rock on, Ruth and ignore these negative folks!!!
A lovely podcast, Ruth. I so enjoyed hearing about the yarn festival and seeing your acquisitions. I agree with everyone advising you to ignore the unpleasant comments you have received. Please keep sharing your joy and enthusiasm for lovely yarns and beautiful patterns. It's your podcast, so make it what you want it to be. x
It's your money and you can spend it how you want to! You are one of the most genuine and kind hearted person! Keep doing what you are doing!
A great yarn haul,,,
Love seeing it all,,,and the chat,,,
So Nice to see you again,,,
Elaine🍁🍁💜
You deserve it all,,
I really love when any podcasters share their yarn acquisitions. It gives me the opportunity to see fiber that might not be available in the states. And gives makers exposure that they need to let their companies thrive...
Hi Ruth, l love seeing all your yarn. As l am from Australia it is very interesting looking at different yarns. 😊
Thank you for sharing your yarn purchases and fun adventure. Why people feel the need to say ugly things just shows how unhappy they are. You keep being your joyful full of life self!!
Ruth, I really loved this podcast. So great to see your happy excitement! Loved the yarn and looking forward to seeing what you will do with your new stash!
Hi Ruth. Enjoyed the podcast. Thank you. x
I love seeing all the yarn goodness! I really don’t understand the negativity.
Enjoyed your podcast, Ruth!💛Always a treat to listen to you as I do my knitting!🙏🏻💛
Hey, Ruth. Just wanted to let you know how much I love your podcast…you make me giggle like a little girl at some time during each episode. Please continue to share your acquisitions. Being from the US I love seeing the yarns from the UK that I wouldn’t see in our stores here.
Hi Ruth, Thanks for sharing all your yarn purchases! You bought such pretty yarns! Can't wait to see what you make with them! You are so inspiring , generous ,sweet and kind! God bless. Happy Knitting!❤
This podcast was wonderful Ruth, so excited to hear how your day went and taking the lovely Hannah with you was fantastic. Beautiful yarns and you will have so many hours of enjoyment 🥰
Dear Ruth, I always say if you buy yarn or something else from a small business owner you are helping them feed their family & that is passing on the love!
Nothing better than seeing a gift bring the recipient joy! Love seeing what brought you joy!
I love the acquisitions portion of a podcast. I love the excitement that you show, I feel the same but it has also taught me about some yarns out there that I (living in Canada) would never have known about. Please don’t change because of a few people who have decided to be cruel. Enjoy your new treasures.
Some people, why oh why can't they just move along if they don't like something. I love to see what people get at fibre festivals, especially those that the rest of us can't go to. That tea cup shawl pin is lovely! Thank you for sharing your purchases with us.
Oh my goodness! I love seeing your new yarn and bags. Sometimes you show colors I would have passed on, but seeing your ideas of how to use them is inspiring. Thanks for sharing. 🧶❤️
Loved the video, thanks for showing all your purchases xx
I think you had a ball at the yarn show with your friend by the happy memories 😊. Love your haul, you bought some pretty yarns there that are going to keep you busy for a while. Xx
I love watching your podcast, please don't stop showing your yarn hauls, sharing is caring😂
Ruth you are a great pick me up : please ignore nasty people - maybe they are just jealous of your enthusiasm and joy 😄😍
God Bless you You give so much pleasure to many many of us
I love all of your podcasts!❤ So take no notice of any negativity. I’m a near neighbour, down in Cornwall and also planned to go to Stitchfest, but couldn’t go at the last minute. So I really enjoyed watching your episode about it all and seeing what you bought - and lucky you with your gift from Caroline, she’s lovely. Xx
Wow! I really enjoyed seeing all your purchases. Your excitement is infectious! I’m sorry some people don’t appreciate it, their loss. I live in a place where we don’t have yarn festivals and I loved hearing about your experiences. You got some really beautiful stuff. Enjoy every stitch. ❤
This was such a fun podcast. Thank you Ruth!
I truly don't understand people who write negative comments, what possibly could be negative regarding yarn acquisitions? My mom and dad taught me never say something about someone unless you could say it to their face. If these people stood in front of you would they make those comments? Not likely! Enjoy what you do and ignore the negativity! Most of all enjoy those acquistions, it's your channel if they don't like it they can move on!
Oooh Ruth, I love nothing better than seeing what people have bought. Loved this and what a super surprise. Very funny too. Thank you ❤🧶
Oh Ruth what a brilliant podcast. I really enjoyed it and have been looking forward to seeing your purchases.
You should not apologise for treating yourself. I met you at the show and you were lovely. With all the wonderful yarns and goodies there I think you were very restrained 🥰.
I agree with you about ‘The Alpaca Man’ ( that’s what we referred to him to as well). His yarn was absolutely beautiful and such a good price.
Take care and enjoy your goodies.
That was so lovely. Thanks ever so much for sharing. I always love seeing acquisitions!! Truly beautiful yarn. So glad you had such a fun time.
Wonderful episode with a lot of yarn that made me smile!
Dear Ruth! I love watching the akquisition section in podcasts. You describe yarns very well. As someone from Europe I likely won't ever see most in person- especially those from handdyers, but I do enjoy seeing what is out there, just as I enjoy seeing patterns and projects. It's inspiring (though also spreading knitting vires 😂)
It's fine to make a seperate video for a larger haul, such as after a yarnshow, but yarn akquisitions are part of the standard knitting podcast format. Everyone is free to skip parts or not watch a video.
I hope it doesn't get to you too much. You're doing great ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing I love to see your acquisitions 🤗
Ohhh Ruth, I so love watching you! Congratulations on all the beautiful purchases you were blessed to get and thankyou for sharing them with us. Ignore the haters ❤❤❤
Oh Ruth, you make me laugh out loud…sending lots of ❤ xx
I love seeing people's acquisitions. Sometimes that's the only part I watch! 😆(Obviously I watch all of yours Ruth! 🤣❤)
Keep sharing your yarn purchases, etc. I get inspiration from seeing what others are buying and what patterns they are choosing for their yarns. Thanks for being you and for sharing your acquisitions, patterns, bags, and your faith!
I loved seeing your haul!
Great recap! Your humor is so sweet and genuine, Ruth. That Dundaga green made me gasp out loud! Gorgeous. I can’t wait to see what you make.
Hello Ruth. I only found your site recently and have really enjoyed the few presentations I have seen so far. I’m hurtling towards 70, was taught to knit when I was about 2, and haven’t really stopped since. So I was quite shocked that anyone could post unpleasant remarks about such an innocuous thing as yarn, knitting, works in progress - and the amount of stash haul someone may have (you should see mine!! 😳). Surely there are more appropriate sites where “nastiness” is acceptable, if that’s what people want to do. A site like this, to my mind, is there to help people enjoy their hobby, stretch their creative ambitions and suggest possibilities for other projects that might be of interest. So Ruth, I say in all sincerity, keep doing what you do. I, for one, have found it really helpful. And if any of the people who made unpleasant comments are reading this, please consider how you would feel should you be on the receiving end. Kindness is so much easier - and more rewarding - than being horrible.
I love to see your acquisitions, too! Some people have nothing better to do than complain! Your podcast is awesome♥️♥️♥️
PS- I also forgot to say, I don’t understand some people. If people don’t have something nice to say then they should keep quiet. Your podcast to do, say and show what you want. It’s fabulous and a joy to watch ❤
Enjoying you AND the acquisitions! What fun to see what across the pond is offering and as usual it never disappoints!
I love seeing your yarn haul. It’s fun to see what other people like. Wish you lived close by😀
Thank you Ruth. Your waffling makes me smile and the yarn you obtained at the festival is lovely.
I don’t need more yarn but I will check out your destash anyway, heehee. :)
I love to see new yarns and other knitty things. Today we turned the AC back on today, but it will be the heat by tomorrow evening. On Friday my husband, grandson and I will drive just under 2 hours for a fiber festival. My grandson will write a paragraph or two about the event for school. I have that same tea cup shawl pin.
Really enjoyed seeing your purchases and hearing about the show. I thought about popping down from Bristol but the weather put me off !
Hi Ruth, I really love your chatty podcasts & like to see your yarn acquisitions. I'm so sorry you have received negative comments, unfortunately some people are just so small minded. Just keep doing what you have, you are appreciated. 🥰
Love your podcast! Keep up the great work!
I enjoyed the podcast very much. I am glad you had such an good time at the festival.
🕊🙏
Ruth you are to cute , sounds like you had a grand old time at the yarn fair . Now that’s a day we’ll spent
As others have said Ruth..pay no attention to those that feel they need to leave a not-so-nice comment. You are such a kind person and you deserve all of that yarn..it is all beautiful and can't wait to see what you make. Thanks for sharing with us!
How you choose to use your gift is nobody’s business. Having said that, ,thanks for your show & tell. Today I wish I lived in Britain to get that lovely purple your you are destashing. Someone will be very fortunate!
I love your acquisitions. Love your podcast. Park the negativities in a little drawer and close it forever. Xxx
I love to see the acquisitions, it makes me feel like I shared in the shopping fun!! I love your podcast!
I absolutely love seeing what people buy at yarn shows, it's all part of the fun isn't it?
The bit where you talk about the unintentional 'soundtrack' to your yarn buying cracked me up. I'm sure I do that and I tend to go on my own!
I went to stitch fest on the Sunday and had such a lovely time. I too had a bit of a splurge but there are way worse things to spend your money on lol😂
I always wish you could post photos in the comments on here. Would love to see your haul too x
Love seeing what you acquired and being introduced to new dyers. I to love shopping from bargain bins, it adds to the excitement and enjoyment of the day.
Another lovely podcast, Ruth. Wish I was there for the yarn show - they are fewer and far between here in the Toronto area...but Im pretty sure there is one coming up (fingers crossed)! Happy knitting 🧶
Oh my goodness! I am struggling to believe that anyone would make unkind comments about you showing us your yarn acquisitions. Living where I do I never see shows or yarn shops so I only really see yarn online so I just love to see what you and others have bought. Thank you for an enjoyable podcast as always.
Ruth I did have a lovely wee time with you! Your enthusiasm is quite contagious! I will never understand those unhappy people who feel they just have to complain about what you podcasters share. It's not like they are paying to watch! I’m sure you know that the vast majority of your viewers enjoy seeing your yarny acquisitions because those can be as inspiring as the knitted objects too.
As always, another excitement filled episode with you encouraging so many knitters and crocheters to continue doing what we do. My favorite part is when you share your faith at the end; it’s like a mini sermon that the Lord lays on your heart. You have no idea how much it means to so many listeners.
Lovely to see all the fabulous yarn you acquired. 😍 luckily I don’t live in the UK, most of your destah was right up my alley! 😄
Love you, love your podcast and love seeing your acquisitions!!!
Oh Ruth- those people who leave negative comments don’t realize that buying yarn and knitting is a form of therapy -so a very worthwhile purchase!
I enjoy seeing your excitement at showing your acquisitions. And I am getting great ideas from your knitting plans. I don’t understand why people want to rob others of their joy. If it’s jealousy of what you have then that’s a them problem not a you problem. My parents taught me that life is not always going to be fair. I’ve tried to teach my children that too.
That last purpley skein was gorgeous! lots of beautiful, squishy yarn!
It's called keyboard courage. Cowards can type out hate and mean easily nowadays. They began and thrive on " Facebook" those people are the kind that wouldn't have the courage to say it to your face. Just ignore them. Be the you that you are.. I truely enjoy your podcasts! Shake it off and continue being a sweetheart ,sharing your yarn haul with us each and EVERY podcasts. I love your sweet spirit...just keep on keeping on! We are blessed having you on You tube..😊
Love watching yarns so no complaint from me 😊! Zenf is the German word for mustard so the colour matches 😉.
Oh good to know. Thanks x
So sorry to hear that people have been unnecessarily mean. I really don't understand them, if they don't like the content, just move on, nobody is forcing anyone to watch! Also, can relate to your yarn excitement. Went to my first yarn show earlier this year, squishing yarn and all the glorious colours, was like a child in a sweet shop.
Keep enjoying your crafting and sharing the yarny love.
I love seeing acquisitions because it's good information and inspiration for future projects!! There's never a bad time to increase your knowledge about yarns 😊 ❤xo
Hi Ruth, great to see you pop up on my TH-cam feed. Thank you so much for your advice to me on Ravelry about the Ballyclare shawl. I've bought some Drops Alpaca (reduced price!) and am now making a swatch - following Brenda Brayfield's instructions. The pattern looks very easy to follow for a relative novice. I love the sweater you're wearing and I may ask my hubby to buy me the 52 Easy Knits book as a Christmas present.
Lovely podcast as always Ruth . Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the show, thoroughly enjoyed seeing your beautiful acquisitions ! Bridget R
I enjoyed this podcast so much! Just what I needed after an extra long work day. The tea cup shawl pin is just perfect.
Sorry to hear you received negative comments. Glad you still share your acquisitions its lovely to see the different yarns available.
Love the podcasts.
I love when you share
Sounds like you had a wonderful time😊 and got some good deals! Oh destash of rust and yellow beautiful earthtones. I'm in Us and yep shipping I'm sure is ridiculous. So very sweet of Caroline to gift you those hanks😊 take care friend❤
So glad you had a good time Ruth! It was lovely to meet you! Becca x (lady in the yellow coat!!)
Hi, I think you knitted that sweater! I love it on you!
❤ enjoyed seeing the beautiful yarns. Thank you for sharing
I never mind people showing yarn that they have acquired. I have discovered and ordered many wonderful yarns that I knew nothing about because a Podcaster shared yarn acquisitions. I enjoy your podcast and always look forward to the next one.
Why do some people need to be mean??!! Please keep doing what you're doing Ruth - lots of us love love your podcasts and wouldn't change a thing ❤️
Such good purchases ❤
I always love to see the things that other knitters have purchased. I learn about new suppliers that I haven’t come across previously, and just find it quite inspiring to see the things that other people are making or have planned. Why people find it necessary to be nasty because it doesn’t interest them is a mystery. It is too easy to sit behind a keyboard and make hateful comments. Please carry on showing us your acquisitions, and brightening our days with your cheerful personality.
Enjoyed your podcast today! You always tell people to skip something they might not be interested in so if they are not interested and still watch that’s their problem! I love seeing what other knitters buy or acquire. It can give you such great ideas. There was a time when I was taking care of my mum I couldn’t get out to shop because I couldn’t leave her alone. Watching knitting podcasts such as yours, was my window to the world, my companionship with other knitters. You and other knitting podcasters were the only company I had at times. You all helped me so much!!! My mum is in a far better place now. As the children’s song says “ Heaven is a wonderful place! Full of glory and grace! I want to see my Saviors Face! Cause Heaven is a wonderful place! So know that you are loved and appreciated for all the kindness that you do!
Thank you for your lovely message x
Ruth, please dont pay any mind to those negative folks. Love you the way you are.
Honestly, if you don’t like it move on … how can anyone be mean to Ruth?!!! I come here for a bit of peace and feel good visit with a friend. ❤
Oh gosh Ruth hope you don’t get any negative comments- you do you boo! Thanks for making the effort to do this video ♥️ have a great week
PS an orifice hook is to thread fiber through to the flyer/bobbin on a spinning wheel!
Your laughter lightens all our hearts. It made me very sad to hear that people were judging and making mean comments. That comes for insecurities and jealousy inside theirselves. If I could knit as fast and as beautifully as you do I would have a massive stash. (Actually I do) but I'm not a fast knitter. There should be a way to block ugly comments. Life is good..............enjoy.
