I'm new in the last few months and so thankful to have a podcast to watch with a knitter who not only loves the Lord, but also shares Truth and grace❤
Same here! Just started watching in May. Working my way up from episode 1.
A suggestion on the musty smelling yarn. I got the smell out of a sweater that sat in the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina August 2005. When we were allowed back home to clean out our homes and see what could be saved. I had a storage tub of sweaters that was full of flood water. I took all the wool sweaters outside and hosed them down on the front yard. One sweater was ok, but had bleed it’s red color on all the rest. After it had dried out on the bushes I put it in an empty plastic kitty litter container and forgot about it. Months later while going through salvaged things I opened the container and the smell was gone! I knitted the sweater for my husband and to this day we both wear it on cold days (first come first serve) I use it as a jacket. It’s cable pattern with a color work panel on the front. The smell of things that has been sitting in hot flood waters is far far worse than musty. So put some clay litter, just a little ( the box was empty I put mine in it was just the dust left) in a container or zip lock bag close it up for a few days and see if that helps! It worked for smelly flood waterlogged sweater!

Roxanne Richardson has just done a video on getting smells out of old yarn. The video is entitled ‘Smell be gone,’ I don’t know if it would help. I’m sorry I don’t know how to link it. I find the Lenor ‘ outdoorable’ softener very good too particularly the yellow one - I believe it’s ‘ summer breeze’. I love your Simon shawl. I personally prefer the shorter ones because i’m only short.
I just heard this little rhyme about the cross in the pocket. At craft one lady was making embroidery crosses and little pockets to put them in. It also had this rhyme printed in the pocket. I thought it was wonderful. Especially as her church was giving them to the ones who can no longer get to church, maybe to elderly or have other problems. 😊.

Hi Ruth. Congratulations on your anniversary and reaching 6000k viewers. I’m glad you took that leap! You have kept me company many times. I am Canadian, living in beautiful Calgary Alberta. Have you the ability to hang the charity shop yarn outside? I had to do that once for a sweater gifted to my daughter, it had been knit by a friends great grandmother. I didn’t want to not use it. It took a week but it did get rid of that musty basement smell.
Congratulations on all your subscribers. I watch you now and again, when my Internet is strong enough. And then I play catch up on all the episodes that I missed. You say you have got imposter syndrome. I don't think you know how lovely your relaxed presentation of wips and fo's is! Feels like we are sitting in front of the fire (or here in Chad, fan) having a cuppa (mine is redbush and vanilla, which is caffeine free and I highly recommend) and chatting as friends.
You ask about location. I'm in Chad at the moment, but soon heading to your old stomping ground of Peterhead for a while!
