This just isn't a scam. You roll the dice, If anyone is going to open one with value more than they paid, others will have a value worth less. But it's not like this is worth $20. On average of course these are going to be worth less than asking price, because someone had to design all this stuff, pay for packaging, the pins, and all the work that goes into it, pay the artists, not to mention all the logistics that would just go into making these, and the labor of assembling them. Like the packaging isn't worth anything, but It costs much more than you'd think to have it made, and is what allows for the overall opening experience to be fun.
@@farcenter Like 8/10 people I seen have pulled maybe 350 bucks in actual value out of their boxes tops. And I have watched at least 20 different openings. That 6.9 MetaZoo card is not no 150-200 bucks. It was sellin for like 125 a few weeks back but now its easily sub 100, Ive seen em as low as 60. I just picked up the Rudy Claus for 205, so if you didn't flip it day one it lost 2/3rds of it's value. Most people lost literally hundreds of dollars for something that cost Rudy less than 20 bucks a piece to make.

You have to include the value of what he's giving away even if he didn't pay for it in his cost, its not an NGO. The product's not about making people money it's about having fun and if someone makes money that's great but it can't be the expectation. If people want to make reliable money on $500 they should take out a bond. I think a hint for everyone is that if a product is being sold as a special collectors item, It's never gonna make big money, at least not in the near term. The kind of things that makea people a lot of money are the investments or products that no one realized were good, and thus there was never a big supply, you know like alpha mtg.
It would have been a fun unique product for like $300 USD. He originally planned to sell them for $500, but his manufacturer for the custom boxes couldn't fulfill all those he ordered, so in order to keep his bottom line the same, no matter how many he sold, he increased the prices of all the boxes to 700. Like, you customers took the loss for his issues with his manufacturer, instead of him taking the loss. This isn't a secret or anything, he describes the whole thing in one of his videos very openly. I admire the honesty, but it's like being honest about robbing a gas station.
I totally agree...$700 USD was a bit high for what was included. Not bad I think if you're in the US and get free shipping, but international shipping plus the terrible exchange rate at the time was rough for us international patrons.
