'You don't use night vision?': IDF spokesperson challenged over killing of aid workers

- An Israeli inquiry has blamed a series of “grave errors” by military personnel, including lack of coordination and misidentification, for its killing of seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza through drone strikes.
In an interview with the BBC, the IDF lieutenant-colonel Peter Lerner said the Israeli military had been unable to recognise the vehicles as belonging to the international aid organisation.
The Israel Defense Forces said they had dismissed a brigade chief of staff with the rank of colonel and a brigade fire support officer with the rank of major and issued formal reprimands to senior officers, including the general at the head of the southern command.
The findings are likely to renew scepticism over the military’s decision-making. Palestinians, aid groups and human rights organisations have repeatedly accused Israeli forces of firing recklessly at civilians throughout the conflict - a charge Israel denies.

Like the US A-10s that attacked US and British vehicles in the Gulf War despite both vehicles displaying the friendly force identification markings - 11 US and 9 British killed. And then in Afghanistan, US A-10s attacked Canadian vehicles killing one soldier and injuring 30 others. Do you think the US knew what they were doing then. Do you think they did it on purpose. Of course not they were unfortunate accidents, these things happen. And these are just a small fraction of of total blue on blue incidents in recent decades.

E.g. the one released from the aid convoy where trucks ran people when they were mobbed. You tell me if you can see logos on the roof of those trucks. These logos can't be seen at night from drones, that's just physics. It's not possible. But it's ok, you guys don't care about facts.

It is an extremely crowded battlefield, I think we can agree on that. Every man and his dog seems to want a part of it and seems to expect that the war will pause so they can do their thing in perfect safety. I think the world in general and some of these aid workers and journalists in particular have forgotten or never known that war is not as controllable or as manageable as that.

He will have seen the footage of the hamas fighters hanging around the aid warehouse, so we know they were there, at the aid warehouse, presumably picking up aid and not for a social call. It is possible that some hamas infiltration has occurred, as it did with unwra, without the knowledge of the charities' upper management. It is definitely another question worth asking.
@@bernardmcgee4645 UNRWA was an allegation which has been proven to be false but that too served the intended purpose of blacklisting UNRWA and ending aid operations I Gaza. The Israeli government has been very open about that. Where is the actual footage of these Hamas militants? By their own admission, two militants allegedly entered the facility but only one was seen with the convoy. Yet they bombed all three trucks. Again, the intended outcome was met. WCK and other major charities have suspended or ended their operations in Gaza. That’s the strategy of Israel-in fighting this war. Annihilation by starvation.
