Dog knee brace instructions

How to use the Ortocanis Dog Knee brace. Recommendations and important precautions. Remember to do a progressive introduction of the orthosis. The first day a 20 minutes session will be enough. Revise the area in contact with the orthosis. Look for signs of rubbing, reddened areas, and wounds. If there is no signs you can increase the use of the orthosis next day.

I'm using this brace on my dog now, it's early days at the moment. I put it on while he is active during the day and on walks, with a restriction in his athletic activities and anti inflammatory medicine,and supplements there is an improvement . Just have to be patient and stick to it. It's taken off for rest times and during the night. You just have to be gentle calm and give positive reasuring energy when putting it on and removing it. The only draw back is ,when he lifts his leg to pee, he finds it difficult to balance and nearly falls over. This is because of the strap that goes under his belly, he can't get his legs far enough apart. But is getting used to it. Hopefully this will help him heal preventing it from getting worse and needing an operation.

That would be so painful for an injured dog that isn't drugged up.

Hello, the product and the way it is placed is designed to minimize pain for the dog. Even so, we recommend the placement with the dog stretched on its side and the injured paw free, thus helping the placement of the product.

Fyi; if you are putting this on an injured canine ,you will need 2 people. My brothers canine is 120lb lab. I tried to put it on alone ,no way.
